I've been treated for injuries and conditions several separate times over the past 10 or so years at Core PT. Each episode of care has been great. Great results. Great PTs. Great PT aids. Great front office staff. Parking is ample and access is easy. They treat you and they teach you how to treat yourself in the long run so you can have a great health span in life. Their app is very user friendly. John Kwon runs a clean, professional PT operation. One of his strengths (or he is just lucky) is hiring staff that just seem to fit in to the family feel of Core PT. Each PT adds something different in their approach. Patients can stay with the same PT or go at it like a smorgasbord and try different PTs through the course of their treatment. The core performance is amazing. I had an excellent experience during my recovery from ACL and meniscus surgery for the first couple of months, before I had to relocate to another. I primarily worked with Ferin and Mark, both of whom are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and skilled in guiding you through the recovery process and explaining each step of the process. How good can physical therapy get? Core performance is the best physical therapy group I have ever worked with. This is a follow-up review to the last one I did 6 months ago. Core continues to work with me to improve my balance and coordination. The therapist continues to work with me at least half the time I am there. I am so pleased with the challenges and efforts they make to improve my recovery. They also work on the actual daily problems that I was confronted with in the previous days. They continue to introduce new processes and new equipments to further my physical development. I cannot be more pleased with Core. My referrals to other people substantiates my conviction. Recently I injured my right forearm, wrist and elbow. After going to an orthopedic surgeon he recommended that I try rehab at Core first. This is my third time to use them and it's sad to how low they've sunk. The front desk is chaos. I had to drive back to get my driver's license and insurance card. The place is so crowded you're bumping into people. I can rarely get an appointment when I need it. They even canceled one of my appointments without telling me. I threw my back out and was in tremendous pain when the doctor recommended PT. I was skeptical it would do anything, but it really works! Caveat- physical therapy ONLY works when you have the right people and the right care in the right office. Even from the first phone call, their administration was extremely professional and showed empathy, especially Francis Garcia and Ally Van Dyke who I got to know in the months I went to Core Performance. They made you feel like you were coming home. As to my back, there is no pain any more. That is all due to Dr. Emily Sanchez DPT. Her knowledge and professionalism was exemplary. I have had a truly excellent experience at Core Performance PT, specifically through my work with Ferin. I initially came in about 9 months ago with a persistent, frustrating knee issue that was causing constant pain and discomfort. My orthopedic doctor essentially told me that I would likely need surgery to fix the problem. Within about a month of PT, I was back on the bike and have managed to put in about 5,000 miles since that first visit, including multiple ultra-endurance events. Ferin is thoughtful, asks a lot of questions, dedicates a lot of time to each patient (probably 15 minutes each session of direct work), and genuinely cares about you getting better. She also has a wealth of knowledge about various body parts and their interactions with each other, and is quite straightforward with her communication which I prefer. There is also a rotating group of aides that guide you through your exercises each day. While they have various experience and confidence levels, in general they are quite knowledgeable about each exercise and the correct form. There are a handful of aids that I strongly believe will make great PT's someday. The positivity honestly goes throughout the clinic from the moment you walk through the door. Ally and Francis at the front desk are both super friendly and a pleasure to interact with. I would not hesitate to recommend Core Performance PT to anyone I know. read more

I started going to Core for Physical Therapy after a left shoulder surgery back in late September of this year. I will say without a doubt that after being there for 2 months I feel better than ever. After surgery I didn't have much hope that my shoulder would be able to heal as quickly as it did and I wouldn't be able to resume back to my normal lifestyle. Working with Ferin Zampese has been quite an experience and she has helped me tremendously along the way. Nicole and Cole who work with Ferin as her aides helped me understand how to properly perform exercise so that I can do them at home and feel confident on my own. Huge shout out to Dr. Mark Hughes DPT and the rest of the team at Core! My experience at Core has been excellent. I came to the clinic after an ACL reconstruction surgery (snowboarding accident = torn acl) in late April 2022. From the start I told Mark that I had a trip to Europe planned about 8-9 weeks pos op. He helped me go all in during the recovery and got me healthy and then some in time for the trip. You can see my average steps log below, starting from the week of surgery and ramping up quickly to my trip in Europe where I was fully functional! (Minus running / sports of course haha). Was able to leg 15k-25k step days no problem 8-10 weeks post Op. Marks care and expertise was great for getting me walking again. I was out of my brace and off crutches ahead of schedule. At the end of the day though you get out what you put in, but the trainers at Core will help you get there. The practice itself is clean, thoroughly sanitized throughout the day and never too packed. The front desk is always welcoming, kind and accommodating. There's also a lot of available time slots to fit my busy schedule which is huge. Special thanks to all the aides who helped me too: Mia, Alexis, Isaac, Rebecca, Jenalyn, Samantha are all awesome! (Sorry if I missed anyone!!) The one thing I felt I may of not needed was the $10 core therapy app. It's an optional app for a one time purchase of $10 that helps you keep up with your therapy regiment at home. I think it's valuable for a lot of patients though, who may not know the different exercises, but I didn't really need it to keep up with my at home sets. read more

I'm quite active and have had multiple surgeries in the past for other injuries and have been to quite a few PT clinics over the years. I'm so happy I landed at Core as they are by far the best! My old back hurt every morning and then I pulled a hamstring and piriformis muscle. I started with PT at Core last summer and have been going 2-3x a week. They worked out a series of specific exercises and massages. It takes time but now I am pain free. I do a short routine every morning and was able to walk 8-9 miles a day on our recent trip to Europe with no aches or pains. The entire team is amazing. I had a less common case - a torn peroneal longus tendon - that took a lot of dedication to heal. I couldn't be more thankful for Amer and the whole Core team. When deciding on physical therapy providers, I interviewed many in my area of Huntington Beach but also branched out to NB and Costa Mesa. Core came highly recommended by my surgeon but I wasn't convinced until I made an appointment for an introductory meeting with Ryan Martineau, one of the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Core. Out of all the meetings with PT providers, Ryan was the only one that followed up with me and provided objective advice on my treatment whether with Core or another provider. Because of Core's approach, I picked them and Ryan as my doctor. Throughout my 3 months of therapy, Ryan's goal was to get me back to tennis, strength workouts and cycling at a higher level than before my injury. He emphasized pushing me but at a safe pace so I wouldn't injure myself again. Ryan and all the therapy assistants kept me motivated and led me to a quicker than expected recovery. I had physical therapy 3 days a week for about three weeks prior to my hip replacement surgery which was yesterday. I can highly recommend Core Performance, all of the team members are very knowledgeable and positive. I found that all of my appointments were kept on time and on schedule.
