I've been treated for injuries and conditions several separate times over the past 10 or so years at Core PT. Each episode of care has been great. Great results. Great PTs. Great PT aids. Great front office staff. Parking is ample and access is easy. They treat you and they teach you how to treat yourself in the long run so you can have a great health span in life. Their app is very user friendly. John Kwon runs a clean, professional PT operation. One of his strengths (or he is just lucky) is hiring staff that just seem to fit in to the family feel of Core PT. Each PT adds something different in their approach. Patients can stay with the same PT or go at it like a smorgasbord and try different PTs through the course of their treatment. I hope I never have to return but, if I do, I know I will look forward to their service. read more

How good can physical therapy get? Core performance is the best physical therapy group I have ever worked with. This is a follow-up review to the last one I did 6 months ago. Core continues to work with me to improve my balance and coordination. The therapist continues to work with me at least half the time I am there. I am so pleased with the challenges and efforts they make to improve my recovery. They also work on the actual daily problems that I was confronted with in the previous days. They continue to introduce new processes and new equipments to further my physical development. I cannot be more pleased with Core. My referrals to other people substantiates my conviction. (Kudos to Ferin and Amer who exemplifies the goodness of Core) read more

The core performance is amazing. I had an excellent experience during my recovery from ACL and meniscus surgery for the first couple of months, before I had to relocate to another. I primarily worked with Ferin and Mark, both of whom are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and skilled in guiding you through the recovery process and explaining each step of the process. I highly recommend them and their entire staff. The front desk, along with other physical therapists that I work with and PT assistants like Nicole and John, are all friendly, experienced, and skilled. I want to thank you all of them and I can't recommend this place enough! read more

Recently I injured my right forearm, wrist and elbow. After going to an orthopedic surgeon he recommended that I try rehab at Core first. From the initial stages to completion I was impressed with the professional staff. They are on time, make sure that your book future appointments, remind you of those appointments and have a great app for you to continue healing on your own. I would not have believed I would be back to working out so soon and feeling about 90% better. Thanks to Mark and the whole staff. read more

This is my third time to use them and it's sad to how low they've sunk. The front desk is chaos. I had to drive back to get my driver's license and insurance card. The place is so crowded you're bumping into people. I can rarely get an appointment when I need it. They even canceled one of my appointments without telling me. The employees are very good These are management failures. read more

I threw my back out and was in tremendous pain when the doctor recommended PT. I was skeptical it would do anything, but it really works! Caveat- physical therapy ONLY works when you have the right people and the right care in the right office. Even from the first phone call, their administration was extremely professional and showed empathy, especially Francis Garcia and Ally Van Dyke who I got to know in the months I went to Core Performance. They made you feel like you were coming home. As to my back, there is no pain any more. That is all due to Dr. Emily Sanchez DPT. Her knowledge and professionalism was exemplary. I could feel improvement every week with the exercises she gave and the work she did on my back. I actually looked forward to sessions because I knew it was working every visit. I highly recommend Core Performance for anyone who is considering Physical Therapy. They're the best! read more

I have been going to Core Performance PT for over a year now after having reverse shoulder replacement surgery. My physical therapists are amazing , Amer and Ferin. The attention, care, and understanding of my injury and limited mobility have helped me tremendously. Their patience has no end and I'm forever grateful. Also, working with Frances at the front desk has made my scheduling and rescheduling a breeze. She works out my appointments for the month and makes it so easy for me - plus she is an absolute pleasure to work with. I recommend Core Performance to anyone needing PT!!!! read more

Sending special thanks to Dr. Christie Warner, Rylan, Rose, Anita and Andy for helping me get back on track. I've finished Chicago Marathon in October because of the help I received from this team. You have also prepared me for my upcoming marathons. I cannot be more grateful for all you have done for my injuries. It wouldn't be possible without your help. Sending millions thanks to all of you. read more

I have had a truly excellent experience at Core Performance PT, specifically through my work with Ferin. I initially came in about 9 months ago with a persistent, frustrating knee issue that was causing constant pain and discomfort. My orthopedic doctor essentially told me that I would likely need surgery to fix the problem. Within about a month of PT, I was back on the bike and have managed to put in about 5,000 miles since that first visit, including multiple ultra-endurance events. Ferin is thoughtful, asks a lot of questions, dedicates a lot of time to each patient (probably 15 minutes each session of direct work), and genuinely cares about you getting better. She also has a wealth of knowledge about various body parts and their interactions with each other, and is quite straightforward with her communication which I prefer. There is also a rotating group of aides that guide you through your exercises each day. While they have various experience and confidence levels, in general they are quite knowledgeable about each exercise and the correct form. There are a handful of aids that I strongly believe will make great PT's someday. The positivity honestly goes throughout the clinic from the moment you walk through the door. Ally and Francis at the front desk are both super friendly and a pleasure to interact with. I would not hesitate to recommend Core Performance PT to anyone I know. read more

I started going to Core for Physical Therapy after a left shoulder surgery back in late September of this year. I will say without a doubt that after being there for 2 months I feel better than ever. After surgery I didn't have much hope that my shoulder would be able to heal as quickly as it did and I wouldn't be able to resume back to my normal lifestyle. Working with Ferin Zampese has been quite an experience and she has helped me tremendously along the way. Nicole and Cole who work with Ferin as her aides helped me understand how to properly perform exercise so that I can do them at home and feel confident on my own. They also both know how to keep you feeling positive about being at PT. Overall my experience at Core Performance has been the absolute best and I wouldn't go anywhere else for my Therapy. From the smiling and welcoming faces of the front office ladies (Francis, Tish and Ally) helping with scheduling and any insurance issues questions, to the back office of making my therapy the best, this place is number 1 in my books. read more

Recommend core PT very very highly. After recovering from 2 spinal cord surgeries and another issue regarding radiation and chemo I can say that I've dealt with almost all the therapist there. Everyone is very knowledgeable and also kind and personable. Special shout out to my lead therapist Christie And her aides Lisa and Rylan Who both go above and beyond Their job. They'll have me walking very soon and I'll miss seeing them every week when that happens. read more

I've been working with Dom (the lead PTA and hr director) for all of my minor injuries from weightlifting/CrossFit , and let me tell you, he knows what he's talking about. He's a great teacher and very knowledgeable about injuries and injury prevention. He has a sincere desire to help people get better in strength or mobility. He understands how to simplify medical terminology and exercises to help patients understand WHY they're doing what they're doing. If you're looking for a PT clinic for to help with your injuries, check out Core Performance Physical Therapy and ask for Dom! read more

I was recommended Core Performance PT from a friend because I do a lot of sports -- specifically Olympic style Weight lifting. My friend told me that one of the staff has a lot of experience in this field -- Dominic Defiesta. Without going with exactly what was done for me, I was ready to hit the weights again in no time. A lot sooner than other PT offices I have been to. I would go back again, and the trip was definitely worth it to me. Thank you Core Performance PT! read more

Huge shout out to Dr. Mark Hughes DPT and the rest of the team at Core! My experience at Core has been excellent. I came to the clinic after an ACL reconstruction surgery (snowboarding accident = torn acl) in late April 2022. From the start I told Mark that I had a trip to Europe planned about 8-9 weeks pos op. He helped me go all in during the recovery and got me healthy and then some in time for the trip. You can see my average steps log below, starting from the week of surgery and ramping up quickly to my trip in Europe where I was fully functional! (Minus running / sports of course haha). Was able to leg 15k-25k step days no problem 8-10 weeks post Op. Marks care and expertise was great for getting me walking again. I was out of my brace and off crutches ahead of schedule. At the end of the day though you get out what you put in, but the trainers at Core will help you get there. The practice itself is clean, thoroughly sanitized throughout the day and never too packed. The front desk is always welcoming, kind and accommodating. There's also a lot of available time slots to fit my busy schedule which is huge. Special thanks to all the aides who helped me too: Mia, Alexis, Isaac, Rebecca, Jenalyn, Samantha are all awesome! (Sorry if I missed anyone!!) The one thing I felt I may of not needed was the $10 core therapy app. It's an optional app for a one time purchase of $10 that helps you keep up with your therapy regiment at home. I think it's valuable for a lot of patients though, who may not know the different exercises, but I didn't really need it to keep up with my at home sets. read more

I'd rate 10 stars if I could... I've been going to Core PT in Newport for 12 months now treating a back injury. I'm quite active and have had multiple surgeries in the past for other injuries and have been to quite a few PT clinics over the years. I'm so happy I landed at Core as they are by far the best! I would not consider going anywhere else!! Sheralyn has been my primary therapist for the past 12 months and she has been beyond incredible. So attentive, caring and knowledgeable! You can tell she truly loves what she does and has an incredible way of connecting with her patients. I've also had the pleasure of working with Dom, the lead aide and director of HR. Dom, along with the other aides, truly care about their patients and put a big effort into their success. They put you first and make the overall experience enjoyable. I've had knee pain on and off for as long as I can remember, but it's been getting progressively worse over the years. My orthopedic doctor referred me to Core, where I've been seeing Dr. Taylor and Kenny for a few months. They have helped me more than I could've imagined! I'm excited by the possibility of running, jumping and squatting again, and if anyone can get me there, it's this highly competent, dedicated and friendly team :) read more

My old back hurt every morning and then I pulled a hamstring and piriformis muscle. I started with PT at Core last summer and have been going 2-3x a week. They worked out a series of specific exercises and massages. It takes time but now I am pain free. I do a short routine every morning and was able to walk 8-9 miles a day on our recent trip to Europe with no aches or pains. The entire team is amazing. I had a less common case - a torn peroneal longus tendon - that took a lot of dedication to heal. I couldn't be more thankful for Amer and the whole Core team. They were patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. Amer understood I was an athlete that was broken down by a bad injury. This can be tough when exercise is a part of your identity, but he helped me reset my mentality and physical awareness. I strongly recommend this clinic - they are the experts in OC! read more

When deciding on physical therapy providers, I interviewed many in my area of Huntington Beach but also branched out to NB and Costa Mesa. Core came highly recommended by my surgeon but I wasn't convinced until I made an appointment for an introductory meeting with Ryan Martineau, one of the Doctors of Physical Therapy at Core. Out of all the meetings with PT providers, Ryan was the only one that followed up with me and provided objective advice on my treatment whether with Core or another provider. Because of Core's approach, I picked them and Ryan as my doctor. Throughout my 3 months of therapy, Ryan's goal was to get me back to tennis, strength workouts and cycling at a higher level than before my injury. He emphasized pushing me but at a safe pace so I wouldn't injure myself again. Ryan and all the therapy assistants kept me motivated and led me to a quicker than expected recovery. I thank them very much and highly recommend Ryan and the entire Core team. read more
