    New location, great space!
    David T.

I started coming here 4 weeks after a spinal fusion surgery (TLIF - L4-L5), afraid to move, twist and lift due to warnings from my surgeon. I met with Matthew Shihab for an evaluation and he got me started on stretches and exercises right away. I was a little surprised at what they wanted me to do since I was so scared of injuring the surgery site, but Matthew assured me that I can handle it. At the 8/12/16 week progress evaluations, I'm positive I was further along than if I had tried to recover on my own. With the help of Matthew and the aides (especially Janelah, Sam, Cole, Eric, Rose, and others), I feel like I'm not only progressing with my recovery but also taking in as much as I can for continued health and strength. The front desk staff, especially Amanda and Val, are always welcoming and helpful and the insurance billing has been completely honest and transparent. Compared to other PTs I've been to, this has been the most time spent with the DPT that I've experienced. The manual and massage gun therapies each time are amazing and keep me coming back. I have also met with Taylor to teach me new exercises and he was great. From what I've observed, everyone is great here and Sooner or later, I'll have to "graduate", but I'll take what I've learned and keep working on improving my strength, balance and flexibility. By the way, most of the pictures are of their old location. They've been in the new location for a few months and it's much nicer, open, and easier to find.

Since then, I've seen at least half a dozen physical therapists and five chiropractors. Nothing helped. My biggest struggle was the nagging pain that woke me up most nights--and I couldn't rely on Advil because my stomach doesn't tolerate it. My orthopedic doctor mentioned arthroscopic surgery but ultimately recommended a hip replacement for more predictable results. He prescribed PT mostly to satisfy insurance requirements, and I went in with very low expectations. I only chose Michael because my wife had seen him and strongly recommended him. From day one, I realized he was different. Michael actually thinks. He doesn't just go through the motions or hand out generic exercises. He studies how your body moves, asks smart questions, and adapts on the fly. On my very first visit, he came up with a stretch that pulls my femur deeper into the socket. Somehow, that simple idea dramatically relieved my pain. It became my go‑to whenever I woke up hurting--and within a month, those nighttime flare-ups stopped entirely. I've been seeing him for more than four months now, and my pain has gone from an 8 or 9 down to a 2 or 3. He's treating the root cause of my hip issues, even retraining me on how to walk and run properly. For the first time in a decade, I genuinely believe surgery is unnecessary. Michael gave me back a level of comfort and mobility I thought I'd lost forever. If you've been dealing with chronic pain and feel like you've tried everything, go see him. He's the real deal.

After hearing so many good things, I decided to come myself, and it's truly been wonderful. I started seeing Michael around July through a referral, and he's been absolutely exceptional. He's incredibly thorough, attentive, and genuinely caring. Each session is carefully tailored -- he always takes time to assess how I'm doing, explains the treatment plan in detail, and adjusts the focus based on my progress. I really appreciate how he shares different recovery strategies and gives clear, practical home exercises after every visit. His techniques are precise and effective, and you can tell he truly cares about helping his patients heal. I've also met Maddi and Melissa -- both are fantastic, kind, and professional. Overall, everyone I know who's been here has had a great experience. The whole team is outstanding -- thoughtful, skilled, and genuinely dedicated. I couldn't recommend this clinic more highly!

I originally came in with a painful rotator cuff injury that was limiting my daily life - simple things like reaching overhead or even sleeping without pain were a struggle. Their shockwave therapy was an absolute game-changer for me. Combined with expert manual therapy and targeted exercises, it broke through the chronic inflammation and helped heal my shoulder in ways I didn't think were possible. Over these two years, the treatments have been truly life-saving - restoring my flexibility, eliminating constant pain, and bringing back my overall quality of life and well-being. I feel stronger, more mobile, and like myself again. The therapists are incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, always explaining everything and customizing the plan to my progress. And the front office staff? Amazing - super friendly, helpful, and professional every time I call. Scheduling appointments is a breeze; they're accommodating and make the whole process stress-free. If you're dealing with a stubborn injury like a rotator cuff issue, do yourself a favor and go to KOH PT Lab. They've earned my highest recommendation.

Among the injuries I sustained, the most significant were skull base fractures and fractures of my orbit, which led the emergency doctors to diagnose me with traumatic optic neuropathy. After consultations with maxillofacial specialists and ophthalmologists, I was told I was legally blind, 20/230, and that this was now my life. Devastated, I reached out to Dr. Lin who was highly referred by a longtime family friend. She felt he and his team should see me and offer other opinions. While Western medicine may refer to Dr. Lin as a "physical therapist," I don't think that language fully defines what he does. At our first meeting, he was gentle, attentive, and deeply aware of my condition. His method is difficult for me to fully articulate, but it was unlike anything the physicians I had seen before had provided. Dr. Lin created a treatment plan in collaboration with his in-house acupuncturist, Dr. Park, and the two of them treated me in concert. I visited them about once a month. Dr. Park performed acupuncture targeting specific hemispheres they agreed would be beneficial, while Dr. Lin used manual techniques, pressing, pulling, and adjusting different parts of my face and body. One moment stands out clearly in my memory. As Dr. Park had acupuncture needles placed in the points she selected, Dr. Lin pressed a section of my face under my eye with significant pressure. The instant he released, my nasal passage cleared dramatically. I had been so focused on my vision that I ignored other parts of my body that also needed attention. This is what impressed me most: their understanding of the interconnectedness of the human body, and the way each system affects the next. Even though I came in focused on a single issue, they recognized that other problems could be developing or stagnating and that treating one area would likely set off a domino effect. They addressed everything collectively rather than isolating one symptom. Dr. Park also gave me homework: changes to my diet, foods to avoid, preferred cooking methods, and even the temperature of liquids I should consume. Detailed instructions that had never been offered nor had I considered. Western medicine had only offered me chemical treatments or surgeries to remove or implant. Dr. Lin was one of the few who was relieved I had not had a surgery and was not taking medication. In my most desperate moment, when the reality of vision loss was fresh and overwhelming, they helped keep hope alive. I am happy to say that I have since improved to 20/40 vision. Slowly, every day I feel a little better. I am not claiming that Dr. Park and Dr. Lin performed miracles. What I do believe is that the treatment they provided stimulated something meaningful in my recovery. Maybe I would have healed to this extent without them, maybe not. But I wholeheartedly feel that their treatment encouraged my body to heal itself. I am four months removed from the incident, I have my vision back and I feel great. Recovery is not complete, but I am in a place now that my Ophthalmologist told me never to expect. Thank you to both Dr. Lin and Dr. Park. I could not be more grateful.
