My final appointment was the reason I decided to change doctors. After waiting about 30 minutes, I was called in only to be asked why I was there, as if she had not reviewed my medical record. When I told her it was time for my annual physical, she said she did not have enough time to do it. I reminded her that I had already been waiting for about 30 minutes, but she replied that it had only been 25 minutes and told me to come back the following month. I also asked if she could order my blood work in advance so we could discuss the results at my next visit, but she refused and said she would only order it when I came back for the physical. Throughout my visits, I often felt unheard. She frequently interrupted me before I could finish explaining my concerns and gave me the impression that she was not truly listening. I never felt that my time or my health concerns were a priority. To be clear, my comments are directed solely at the physician. The nursing staff and the front desk team were always kind, courteous, and professional, and I have nothing but positive things to say about them.

However, because of a burn injury on my knee, he advised that I complete physical therapy first and return once the skin had healed. When I returned for follow-up -- just a few weeks later and still in significant pain -- he abruptly told me that my knee was "fine" and completely dismissed my symptoms. The new note omitted all mention of the meniscus tear and the prior surgical plan, even though the second MRI (done within six weeks) showed the same tear and bone edema. Since that visit, I have seen multiple orthopedic surgeons, all of whom confirmed that surgery is needed. I left Dr. Gelb's office feeling dismissed, unheard, and deeply frustrated by the lack of honesty and continuity in my care. Patients deserve to have their pain and imaging findings acknowledged and documented accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen in my experience with this provider.

During a routine 6-month physical, staff performed an EKG. Shortly after, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) informed me that I was actively having a myocardial infarction (a heart attack) and ordered me to rush to the ER. In a state of total panic, I went straight to Baptist Health ER, where they initiated full cardiac protocols, including blood work, x-rays, and monitoring. After a terrifying 45-minute wait, the ER physician reviewed the paperwork brought from Dr. Stein's office and discovered a glaring error: the second page of the report explicitly stated that the EKG leads had been placed on the wrong side of my body. It was a false positive caused entirely by staff incompetence. When I called the practice to report this, the NP was incredibly dismissive, stating, "My bad, I don't read those interpretation notes." I spoke with the Office Manager, who promised that she and Dr. Stein would follow up with me. It has now been two weeks. I have received zero follow-up, no apology, and they haven't even called to give me my routine blood work results. As a cancer survivor, regular blood monitoring is critical to my ongoing health. To completely ignore a patient after a traumatizing, costly, and entirely avoidable ER scare is unacceptable. Please be warned and protect your health--avoid this practice.

On 3/30/25, I visited your Delray Beach Office (see attached notes). Upon arriving, the receptionist insisted that I owed a co-pay of $30.00. I explained to her that Medicare pays 80% and BCBS pays the remaining 20% of the Plan Allowance amount. Another office worker by the name of Seth came over and said that I needed to pay the co-pay implying that I could not get service unless I paid the co-pay. I asked him if Dr. G's could bill me if by some chance there was a copay. He said no. So, I agreed to pay (see attached credit card receipt for $30.00) under duress due to the fact that I was sick and needed attention. I also subsequently returned to Dr. G's six more times for follow-up treatments. I was never asked to pay any co-pay after explaining that my insurance covered everything. On 7/7/25, I called billing and spoke to Penny. I explained to her what had happened. She said that I had a $30.00 credit on my account. I asked her to please refund the $30.00 by issuing a credit to my credit card. She said that she had no authority to do so and that I had signed a "no refund" form. She said that on my next visit to DR. G's I could apply the credit to that visit. I explained that I will never owe anything to Dr. G's since my insurance coverage pays everything. I asked her for her manager's name and she said that she couldn't give that information out. I asked her where the billing department was located and she said that she couldn't tell me that. She gave me the email address of admin@drgsurgentcare.com to address the issue of having a credit of $30.00 posted back to my credit card. I have not gotten any response. As you can see from the attached EOB from BCBS, there was no co-pay required for my visit on 3/30/25. Medicare paid $132.63 and BCBS paid the remaining $33.84 with no copay or deductible owing $0.00 to the provider. Please issue a refund of $30.00 by crediting my credit card account. Concurrent to my discussions with this business owner about my negative customer experiences, I filed a complaint and right of refund with my bank since I paid for the medical service(s) in question with my VISA debit card. I lost that appeal or right of refund since I alleged the physician, on the original medical exam date in question, never performed the medical services offered to any degree of accepted medical standards or professional competencies. My bank did not want to intervene on my behalf - I been with them for over 24 years. My advise to YELP readers, please be VERY AWARE that this physician is like no other. They (she) are a money generating enterprise. They will do anything or say anything to extract cash $$$ from you.
