Got it back after a few short days and will be getting some further work done as time goes on. This truck had belonged to my former landlord whereupon his daughter sold it to me as the old boy had gone to a retirement facility. In his later years maintenance and repairs had been let go but being sturdy and strong running, I bought it and am slowly bringing it up to snuff and it is good in the event I should need to do any long distance traveling with it. . Attended the new shop opening, located just off I-25 and Colorado route 66, where I met Mr. Maggio's family and some of the other customers who call Hands On Autotech their home for vehicle repair and servicing. I first went there based on the recommendation of the Martino troubleshooter show on 630 KHOW AM radio; 10 AM - 2PM, M-F. My opinion is that Tom's shop takes something of a scientific approach to vehicle repair and will go more in depth with an analyses than another shop I had been to for an issue with my '99 Tahoe. As an EV owner himself I gather that Tom is up on the current tech, perhaps more than some other places who would have men of my age (68) from the "dinosaur era" of automotive tech working at their shops.

There was a problem with the communication surrounding the tow transfer so I started my experience with Hands on Auto Tech with some trepidation. Tom handled the situation and we moved onto the real problem with my truck. The diagnosis was the clutch so I approved the repair and waited a few days for the parts to arrive and the repair to proceed. After the clutch was replaced another problem with the operation of the clutch was discovered so I agreed to the additional repair and another day for repair. After a week I was reunited with my truck. The repair was costly, lengthy and unexpected but coming out the other side of this experience I learned a couple of lessons. 1. If you have your vehicle towed to a shop follow the tow truck to the shop and verify the transfer. 2. Communication and follow up throughout the repair are key Tom was great to deal with and I feel that he was honest with me about the repairs needed and the cost of those repairs. Having recently moved to the area I feel my vehicle maintenance and repair needs can be checked off the list. I can recommend Hands on Auto Tech to anyone needing an honest repair facility and Tom as a good guy to deal with.

I was having issues with my Chevy Trax not shifting properly. A friend recommended taking it to BG Automotive and they didn't disappoint. I spoke with Jesse. He was helpful and accommodating with helping me get my car repaired. They were able to get me in on short notice and within a day they diagnosed and fixed the problem. I'm so grateful for Jesse and the technicians there. They got me back on the road ASAP. Thanks guys. I appreciate the help.

BG Automotive? More like "BS" Automotive. The one star is for an oil change (since 0 stars is not…read morean option). BG Auto IS SHADY, smooth talking for sure, but A RIP OFF. STAY AWAY. This is a lengthy description, but it's not half the story. To all the glowing 5 star reviewers - check your invoices. The problem started with their "courtesy inspection" accompanying the oil change, where half of their recommendations (deemed red flag "Requires Immediate Attention") ultimately turned out to be mostly unnecessary and absurdly expensive. That became apparent only after paying. My bad, of course, I obviously should have asked to see a detailed estimate prior to the work. The initial estimate did not provide parts or labor detail & appeared to indicate the work was part of a "complete tune up." Upon dropping off the truck, "Service Advisor"Jesse stated that Champion copper spark plugs had been factory installed on 2013 RAM 2500s, so that was best & what BG would install. Classic BAIT & SWITCH: BG charged $508.48 for a set of 16 plugs! When I challenged the bill, asking if "kryptonite plugs" were installed instead, Jesse indicated, no, the copper plugs were used... then he checked his computer & stated, actually no, in fact the [far] more expensive NKG iridium plugs were installed. "They're much better because they last up to 100,000 miles," he emphasized. I replied, "Great. BG just changed out NGK iridium plugs that had been in the engine already, with only 60,000 miles on them." The WORK WAS COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. Also on the bill was a "TOTAL FEES" charge of $175.77 (yes, that specific), but with ZERO DETAIL of what those fees were for or how they were calculated. Jesse couldn't provide that detail either, "It could be shop supplies, or hazardous disposal - you know, those state regulations - it could be almost anything." Note there were no hazardous materials involved with this work, such as a tire or battery disposal fee. (Google search indicates: In Colorado, shop fees are usually calculated as a percentage of the labor cost (e.g., 5-10%) and are often capped at a maximum amount (e.g., $25 to $50). Also, Colorado statute requires the repair invoice to have some kind of description of these fees, and further, "a description of each part by name and identifying number." Nowhere on the invoice was the type of plugs installed specified, either. You get NADA DETAIL from BS Automotive. Finally, while repair shops typically mark up parts 70-100% of wholesale price, BG is marking up parts in the ballpark of 100% of retail price. (If you can pry out of them the parts brand they say they'll use, you can easily verify this with a Google search at their counter.) They should be ashamed and embarrassed for what they're charging the hardworking folks of Longmont. When pressed to justify the charges, Jesse insisted they were competitive, "within 5% of other local repair shops." More BS. Comparing apples to apples (parts & labor only), the local dealership quoted over $200 less, the Loveland repair shop I've frequented in the past was over $400 less (obviously, checked after the fact...). If the handful of other shops Jesse quoted are actually within 5%, they are ripping us off too. Jesse would not budge on the final bill, but he did offer to comp me an oil change. As if! I had already told him I would never set foot in BG Automotive again. However, I would take a call from the BG Automotive (Owner) to provide the rest of the story about this pathetic BG encounter.

For this reason, they will always get my business unless it is absolutely necessary to go to the Ford dealer (in which case I only recommend Sil-Terhar in Broomfield). My F150 recently needed a new battery, and at the time the old one died for the last time, my heater stopped working. They could have told me that I needed a new heater core, new heat/ac blender actuator, or blender door (all ranging from $250-$400 in repairs). Instead, they took the time to troubleshoot, and only needed to reset the HVAC module - less than an hour's worth of labor and no parts. What's more, they contacted me mid-day (same day) to let me know that it was ready to be picked up. Many other garages would have torn my dashboard apart and gone the wrong way with troubleshooting this. I don't have enough words to express my gratitude for their professionalism!

This is a review about Grease Diva Garage in Frederick, Colorado…read more Shawn, the mechanic, made a mistake diagnosing the issue with the worrisome grinding noise in the area of both of the front wheels of my Tacoma. He replaced parts of the suspension system. As I drove out of the garage, the noise was still there. His response was that he still was glad to have replaced parts of the suspension on the front wheels, that they needed it anyway. Other than this serious issue, Shawn displayed a bad temper, rudeness, and condescension. I had to finally tell him to stop his bad behavior otherwise I was leaving. I wrote a negative review on Google and Jennifer, his wife and owner of the shop, emailed me many times to try to force me to take down the review. She was relentless and threatening. UPDATE: The owner just changed the name of the business/garage on Yelp to Great Cars are us. If you google it, it doesn't exist, it is a made up name. They also gave an address that belongs to a house for sale in Wheat Ridge, CO, unrelated to the garage, and a false phone number. That served to disable the search for the garage on Yelp. In the answer to my review there is a mention of the police being called to remove me, but that didn't happen ( isn't it a bit extreme to invent a story like this just because you are unhappy with a negative review? ). The mechanic's name is Shawn and his wife is Jennifer, I have never met a Rebecca, it is likely that she is a fabrication. Welcome to the Twilight zone... They will go to great length to crush a person who expresses their dissatisfaction with their work and services. I am blown away with what happened. Well, I did what I had to do and reported Grease Diva Garage. Fellow consumers, now you decide if this garage is what you are looking for. UPDATE #2: I reached out to Yelp to let them know about the fictitious information. Now the info is restored, hopefully permanently. As far as the false statement about being removed from the garage, I am working with a lawyer and the police department of Frederick.
