I was referred to Protec Automotive through a friend and I've been coming to Pro Tec for the past three years. At first I came with my 99 Ford Explorer and now with my 2006 Acura TL. Donny, the owner, is the most honest mechanic I know. When I bought my Acura I took it for a test drive and brought it to him to be told the real truth about the car. He told me about some wheel pull and that the front brakes would need to be changed very soon. I brought it up with the dealship I bought from and they completely agreed and took care of the issues. There are several other times where Donny has just told me the plain truth, whether it be in his favor or not. I can count on Donny to tell me how it really is, and I enjoy that in my mechanic. I put my VW in for repair twice both times for the same problem. They were helpful and did a ok job, but the last time my car was out for one week before it had to go back to the shop. I Felt like it might be there fault somehow. I choose to take my car to another shop. To do the repairs. Pro-tec is a good shop and they take there time but I don't have time to wait for a minor repair to be fix. It's a hit or miss with this shop read more

I used Pro-tec Automotive a few months ago and the only reason I am writing this review now is because I have recently been asked about the service by several friends of mine.. In my opinion, we were totally abused there. My 17 year old daughter brought her car there, that she just purchased for $3000. I told management i need a quote if the cost got to high. Finally , after them having the car for 3 weeks, she gave me a bill of $1400 and the car was still not done. I took the vehicle and had another mechanic fix it. Very very upset at the whole process. I do not blame the mechanics, I blame management. I have never been to a place that would charge that kind of money without getting permission from the parent first. Honest, trustworthy and accurate! The service takes longer than the cattle-car pushers, but it's completely worth it. They fixed my car for 1/4 the price of a national chain, diagnosed my problems for free (which were 3 repairs over 8 as the national chain quoted me) and were helpful, friendly and informative. This place has really gone downhill. It used to be a good shop in till new people came in and started ripping people off. Can't take ownership of anything they do wrong and if you confront them on it they get mad. They overcharge and charge for the wrong things. *****DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE EVER ***** These people are complete assholes. I took my car up there because it was overheating and my estimated amount was 260, that included the 100 that was already spent on the most expensive part needed. Their mechanic broke an expensive piece while taking everything apart , so now they are charging labor plus the part that they broke. They wouldnt give a set price on anything until today the day i go pick up the van after everything is said an done , i tried to talk to then about everything and were completely rude to me and acted so entitled. This was suppose to be a simple repair. Same day job and they turned it into a four day job thats twice the amount it should been (520 including the 100 that was already spent) because their mechanic messed up. I had to miss my sons physical theropy , speech theropy and occupational theropy and a feild trip we already paid for because of them breaking another part and to add to it when we finally got to pick the van up on the 5th day , the battery was dead and they had to jump it just for me to get it home, the battery WASNT messed up when i brought it too them. read more
