The professionalism and customer service was outstanding. As a casual amateur fisher-dad that doesn't want to disappoint the kids (and wife lol) every time we go fishing, I would like to sincerely thank this shop and the staff that assisted our visit here last Sunday. Not only did we feel welcomed, we were taken care of with genuine kindness and helpful information. I wish I remembered the employee's name, he was the only one there on a Sunday morning, but he was excellent. He helped answer all the questions we had about our fishing trip to Castaic Lake for the first time. He showed us all the recommended baits/lures/tackles, educated us on different casting setups, and took the time to show us how to efficiently and effectively tie everything together. With his recommended products and setup (that he helped put together) on my daughter's toy fishing pole, she caught her first fish (bass!) within 10minutes of being on the boat. At the end of the half-day fishing trip she caught 2 and the wife caught 1 all with the products that he recommended. Not too bad for first timers there on a "slow" day! Thank you Tackle Express! We'll definitely come back for our next fishing trip.

As with any retailer some locations are better than others but apparently corporate is stupid! I have purchased from Bakersfield South. I am a Retired Police Officer. LEOSA, HR 218, California CCW. There are certain things I am exempt from with the main one being California Revenue and Taxation Code Section 36021, active and retired peace officers are legally exempt from California's 11% firearm and ammunition excise tax. 36021(a) explicitly exempts retail sales of firearms, firearm precursor parts, and ammunition made to any active or retired peace officer. They just have to complete a form. I have gone into three locations only to argue with Managers and forcibly take my documents back. Could it get more fun? YOU BET IT CAN! Sales tax is NOT Standard in California depending on the City involved. (Pasadena 10.5, Reseda 9.75, Bakersfield 8.25) Not huge UNLESS you are charged the California Excise tax as well. Add 11% a $1000 firearm can set you back $1300 before you get out the door. Add Ammunition, ANOTHER 11% its per sale and separate items per California. If still with me, You Rock. Ruger stopped making a firearm I wanted!! Once the old, new factory was back on line there it was BUT not California compliant. (Ruger does not make State Compliant Firearms. They SHIP with compliant magazines but sillyness like fin grips is up to the reseller or their third party to furnish) Big whoop. On sale, Californication compliant, stupid fin grip but it may be two more years to come back. "ADD TO CART" Oh gee, excise tax is automatic so I called On Line sales support. TIM ROCKS!!!! The guy had no idea about any of what I have mentioned like most of their employees. (Excise tax, different sales tax rates in the same State and COUNTY.) The excise tax is $100 and may take months to be refunded because the purchase went through corporate not a branch. Turners needs better District Managers that know more than how to pull a trigger or sell something G Day All

Great little tackle/snack shop and boat rental facility right by the main (upper) lake at Castaic…read more It's located off the street close to the Sheriffs station and the main boat ramp. Have swung by a couple times, once to ask where the fish were biting, and once to rent a boat, get a friend a fishing license, and ask where the fish were biting. As a tackle shop it's pretty average, with some basic tackle and lures, with a refrigerated section that had nightcrawlers and lugworms (at least they were advertising it from outside, guess it makes good striper bait?) I don't recall if there were poles but I remember seeing some hooks and maybe some plastics. However they do sell fishing licenses which is nice, and the man working there had a ton of information regarding what baits and rigs to use, where to go, and how to go about finding and catching the fish, which is likely the most important aspect of a bait/tackle shop. As a snack shop it's not great. Some chips maybe and a fridge with canned cokes at like $1.15 or something. Nothing spectacular but adequate. As a boat rental facility it's quite nice. They have these 14 foot aluminum motor boats with a $75 deposit, $35/first hour with $10/each subsequent out and $65/full day which is a very fair price. The boats are simple but clean, can accommodate up to four adults, and have pretty decent power. One should always stop at all the local shop to get the lay of the land, but this shop really gave good advice and I caught four decent bass, 3 in a very specific recommended spot and rigged as suggested, so I was quite happy and satisfied with the service and advice received.

This is a well-run shooting club in Santa Clarita. If you're coming from LA, it's actually just…read morebefore you get into Santa Clarita. There are multiple ranges, depending on what you want to shoot, a restaurant with quality food, a small bar (they do not allow you to shoot after drinking, but the reverse is fine), a gun shop with a very good selection and knowledgeable staff, and several events throughout the year. What really makes this place great is the staff at the ranges. If they see someone doing something unsafe, they call it out and put a stop to it immediately, which is what you want at a gun range. But more than that, they're friendly and more than willing to help you with tips on shooting or with any weapon malfunction--very important for new shooters. Guys like Savage and Jimmy really help make the rifle range an enjoyable experience. As far as the different ranges, there is a long row of shotgun clay/skeet shooting at the front when you pull in. That's also where you find the restaurant and some clean bathrooms. There is also a small shop with clothing, accessories, and some very high-end shotguns. This is where you check in for the shotgun range. To head to the archery range, park there and make a left past the main building and up a hill. I haven't been to the archery range yet, so I can't comment on it. For the rifle range, continue to the left past the ramp for the archery range. It's a bit of a walk, especially if you're carrying a bunch of weapons and ammo. It's paved, and I believe they have golf carts available to help transport you if you're disabled or just need the help. There is a small shop where you check in, with accessories, ammo, and targets available for purchase, as well as various rifles available for rent. At the rifle range, you can shoot most calibers of rifle, shotgun, or handgun (but no hollow points), so it's fun for all. You can set up cardboard target stands or use the steel targets spread throughout the range. I'm not sure how far back it goes--probably about 75-100 yards. I've heard a rumor that if you bring in a watermelon or pumpkin, you can shoot it, but I haven't checked the validity of that yet. The only negative about the rifle range is that the only bathrooms there are porta potty's. For the pistol range and gun shop, when you pull into the parking lot, instead head to the right, where there is an additional smaller parking lot. There are some nicer bathrooms out front. Inside is the pro shop/gun shop, where the guys (I think their names are Frankie and Rick) are very helpful. If you want to try any of the handguns before purchasing, they have them for rent as well. There is a paper range and a steel range. I believe that, aside from handguns, you can also shoot small handgun-caliber rifles there. At the paper range you can shoot hollow points (at least that was allowed last time I was there), but not at the steel range. There are about 10-12 stalls on each range. I don't think either range extends past 75 yards. For the paper range, you can purchase targets at the shop or bring your own to put on cardboard stands. One of the guys there is extremely helpful if you need tips or have any questions. I believe his name is Page-hope I got that right. On the steel side, they have a plethora of steel targets set at different distances. The nice thing about the steel range is that you never have to stop and wait while people change out their targets. There are also an additional two speed plate lanes at the end that are first come, first served. Again, the employees do a good job of keeping an eye on everyone and maintaining a safe environment. Don't forget to bring ear and eye protection. But if you need it, they have both available. I don't think they currently charge you to borrow either. They also have memberships available, with massive discounts on the membership a couple of times a year during events. One tip - if it's your first time, make sure you fill out the waivers online before you go. It will save you time when you get there. There is a main waiver everyone signs, plus additional waivers for each range you plan on using (ie shotgun, rifle, archery, pistol, etc.). I highly recommend Oak Tree to anyone looking to try shooting for the first time, anyone looking to purchase a firearm and try it out first, and experienced shooters looking for a good, safe, convenient place to shoot.

Very pleasant range tucked away in the hills by Valencia/Santa Clarita…read more Good service at the desk, you can and should sign waivers in advance via their website for smooth processing. They have a great selection of rentals if you so happen to need it or want to try stuff out, pricing is available on their website. This visit I enjoyed their steel pistol range, they have an option to shoot paper as well on a separate part of the pistol range. The bays are nice and wide, lots of space to comfortably shoot on the steel range. Reasonable pricing and the location is a nice and quiet woodsy forest vibe. There is parking in front of the club/restaurant/shotgun range (Rifle is to the left), as well as if you hit a right, there was a bit of parking in front of the pistol ranges and gun store. This place is a must try for any hobbyist, recreational or professional shooter.

Christian was the gentleman that helped me out along side a trainee. I understand when training someone, things may take a while. And it did. Buuuuut, even though he was training someone while helping me out. It was still one of the fastest transactions I've experienced compared to other locations. Very knowledgeable in his line of work which is greatly needed especially dealing with legal transactions as these. Answered all my questions with understandable explanation with no hesitation. What I was most impressed about is how he was guiding his trainee. Never once belittled them when they would make a mistake or didn't understand a certain line on the paperwork. Instead would guide them on how to fix or correct it in a friendly and professional manner. Because I've seen managers do that before and it gets so awkward. So kudos to Christian for not letting any sort of Ego get in his way. Bottom line. I'm happy with my purchase, and the customer service I received upon arrival!
