My first vest I bought from here was a great deal so, my new vest had to come from Victory Leathers. I had picked it out online. Called Eddie to make sure they had one. I drive over 70 miles one way is the reason for calling. The first one I wanted was a bit tight. No problem, Eddie had a size bigger. I bought the, "Leather Vest with Buffalo Nickle Snaps", and love it. Eddie sewed on 13 patches of various sizes. It was around 11:45 when I got there and finished the complete sale and headed home around 12:25. Thank you again for doing another great job for me.

Took my son's baseball glove for repair and the fix appeared to be fine, no issues…read more After a few weeks it broke again, not sure why but needed a fix again. (Even if it was at my expense). When we went into the store we explained it had just been fixed and before I could get anything more out, he started yelling at us and telling us "he didn't fix the glove, that's not his work!". I explained it WAS fixed there but either way, we just needed to get it fixed again. He insisted we were never there, wasn't interested at looking at his records and refused to fix it. I understand if you don't want to fix, but telling me I was lying and yelling at us was completely unacceptable. He explained he was the best in the business and maybe that's true, but no excuse to yell at customers and call them liars!

I am very disappointed with Keleen Leathers for not standing behind a product that they sold me and…read moreassured me would be appropriate for a stair runner. While visiting the Keleen showroom, the owner took me and my designer into his office to show us an "amazing product" that he claimed was perfect for a unique and attractive look - shearling pelts to be used as a staircase runner. After discussing this application, including the durability of the pelts, I purchased them and contracted with Nova Flooring Services to have them fabricated and installed in my home. After only a few years, the pelts wore through in many places and the stair edges became bare - the pelts were black so the absence of the fur was extremely apparent and very unattractive. Keleen would not respond to my request to stand behind their product - leaving me with an expensive project of replacing all the pelts with standard carpeting. Nova Flooring of Schaumburg, IL removed the worn pelts and installed new carpeting for me at no charge (for labor). This was very gracious and professional of Nova. Keleen Leathers should have stood behind their product and this use that they so strongly endorsed.

But this is so much more than a "cute boutique ". The shop itself isn't too large because the back half of Re:New is the workshop where refugees women are taught lessons in sewing as well as studying English. The gal working the front was lovely enough to take me in a little tour. Everyone seemed happy and excited to be making (perhaps the best part) handbags! Pieces are pricey but the fabrics/leather used are divine! I ended up coming back here for cosmetic bags and eye masks for a girls weekend! I hope to spread their message because it really is an incredible concept ladies!

The "customer service" is all over the place here…read more The older gentleman at the counter has to check with his wife for EVERYTHING: even though he'll promise that something will be ready on a Friday and charge me the $6 for a service (that I've already had done here before), SHE will then call back to say it won't be ready at that timeframe, and this is the last time she will accept that price. Several times I've had Paul's shoe service punch a 2 mm hole into the middle of the spine of a leather notebook (see photo). I have at least six of these notebooks that they have punched holes in. On my most recent trip in I was charged the same price I've been charged and promised that my new project (one single notebook witha hole punch in the spine ) would be finished by Friday. Mary called me the following day to explain that they would no longer be able to charge me the six dollars. I love working with small businesses so I asked what the updated price would be. She became very defensive and explained why the price point would be different. "Thank you for the explanation but what would that new price be?" Again even more flustered and defensive. She explained that she didn't even know what the price would be and that normally the price would be between $20 and $30, and that I've been getting "the deal of the century". She also explained that they gave me bulk pricing for my previous notebooks. She then threw that older gentleman under the bus and said "I don't know why he would've told you Friday. We're extremely busy. These won't be done till sometime next week." Overall, I'm turned off by the lack of information the lack of communication between employees and the attitude I was presented with when asking further questions. I'll be taking my business elsewhere going forward. It seems like I was just too small a project for them and they didn't know how to deal with my projects.

Sadly, my leather couch and leather chair did not fair well against their razor sharp teeth. I had 2 options, buy new or pay to repair it. We had paid quite a bit brand new 10 years ago. Our warranty had expired. The company that we purchased these pieces from still offered the same set...for $2500 more than we originally paid. My husband and I agreed that if the repair cost under $1000 it would be worth the cost and better for the environment. After a few phonecalls and emails, I was finally able to connect with Leather Solutions Of Chicago. They are kind good people. They are truly worth the wait. Their skill is second to none. I was without furniture for a little over a week. I literally wanted to cry when I saw the repair. You would have never known that I had it repaired. They not only replaced the damaged pieces and restuffed the cushions, they also matched the color of the leather perfectly. We are forever grateful to Rachelle and Fidelino for restoring our beloved couch and chair.

Kinda shitty thing to do after buying dozens of them over the years. Fortunately I have a new pair of shoes for just $14. It's a little tricky to find but just look for office/restroom signs near H&M entrance to the mall on 2nd floor, and head down the hallway. They carry all kinds of accessories for your feet/shoe needs.

Not only did Jose Verde have suitable shoelaces in stock, but he also did a great job of shining my two pairs of dress shoes in only half an hour and at a great price! Since then, I have been back to Yorktown Shoe Repair twice - once for a further shoe-shining, and once to have one of my pairs of dress shoes repaired and to buy accessories for shoe care. And again, Jose did the necessary work in the agreed-upon time and at an eminently fair and affordable price - and he did a GREAT job, too. He also has a great selection of quality accessories for shoes, including shoe polish, shoe applicators, shoe brushes, shine cloths, anti-slide guards (for shoes with "slippery" soles), shoe horns, and, of course, shoe laces. He and his wife are both very personable and very professional. I do like Tony's Shoe Clinic in Oak Park and Lou's Shoe and Luggage Service in Park Ridge - but, given where I now live and where I now work and where I now go to church (every day of the week) I'm very happy to have this hidden gem of Yorktown Shopping Center right on the way to and fro.
