I found some nice items but will never support this business again. Take heed of the Better…read moreBusiness Bureau "F" rating. https://www.bbb.org/us/il/lombard/profile/consignment-clothes/the-ladies-room-0654-88588623 My consignment experience was horrendous. On Sept. 21, I consigned 8 dresses including a St. John, a skirt, a jacket and a new Kate Spade bag still with tags. I was initially unsure about consigning the bag, but Angie said she was really interested/they really wanted it and I thought why not. I like to support small business. A few days later, I realized I hadn't received a copy of the contract I signed. I called and there was more than two weeks of back-and-forth: Angie would look it up and call me back, she sent it, maybe she sent to the wrong email address, etc. On Oct. 10, I finally received a screen shot of my items and the consignment prices with the contract date 9/21/24 and expiration date 11/21/24 No attachment or contract. I didn't worry much about it, and in hindsight I was too trusting. In December, I remembered the consignment. Every other consignment shop I've worked with either has an online portal to check your items/contract or has provided a courtesy call/reminder to pick up before items are donated. Clearly it was on me to remember and pick up when the contract expired. Not that I had or ever received a copy of a contract with their terms. I'm just stating what I'm used to. I don't live in the area. I drove up on a day off during their stated business hours; a sign on the door said they were closed. Went back a few days later, found them open and I arranged with Angie to come back on Jan. 24 to pick up my items. I saw several of my items on the floor and commented on it to Angie; I should have grabbed them at that point. I then had a medical issue requiring daily doctor's visits; one was scheduled for my pick-up day/time. I called and left a message that I couldn't come in 1/24 and needed to reschedule. Angie left a voice mail the next day that she had an opening the following Wednesday, if I recall. I called back and left a message that my work schedule didn't allow me to come in; requested a call back. After another round of phone tag, I emailed Feb. 2 with some open dates and times, explaining my tricky schedule with work and doctor's visits. No response. I got busy with work, family and the ongoing medical issues. Granted, again, I recognize it was on me that I didn't continue following up after the contract date (again, not that I ever received a contract) had passed. I assumed it was clear from my multiple contacts I wanted to pick up my items, and that I would get a response to my last call and email. I finally called and reached Angie on March 27. She said she was busy with customers and would call me back. She called back and told me that a few items had sold and I'd get just under $50; everything else had been donated. I told her I was angry at the lack of response when I had tried scheduling pick-up and the utter lack of customer service throughout this experience. She apologized as though she was reading a script; I felt as if she couldn't care less. She told me I'd receive my check in 5-10 business days. Needless to say, it's now April 18, no check and I'm not holding my breath or surprised. I should have heeded the prior reviewers mentioning their poor and similar experience. Lesson learned.

5 stars. The poor…read morereviews and experiences are very shocking to read because I've only had pleasant experiences with this shop and its owner over the years. I began shopping & consigning here over ten years ago. I found the experience to be convenient and extremely helpful. Catrina has great style and can find pieces that will complement your shape and aesthetic. Some of my favorite pieces were amazing finds from this shop. My fur was a GREAT deal! Several purses and accessories. Dresses and special occasion wear, too. I will say that she is very selective when selecting piece to consign and I appreciate that. I prefer to shop high quality items versus a high quantity of items. I appreciate that she will try and sell items on eBay as well as in the store to increase the odds of sale. She's always been great about supporting community efforts and has a philanthropic spirit around certain causes. If you didn't have a pleasant encounter with this store, I encourage you to return and share what wasn't to your liking. An honest conversation and an open heart can make a huge difference. I will continue to support this local shop whenever I can.

BTW, the earrings were NOT purchased here. It took a week for the repair to be completed. I worked through this transaction with Peggy. I am very happy with this experience and I will return for future purchases and repairs.

I would not trust your watch to get serviced properly …read more.. I did give these guys a shot last year replacing the band. While it took days if not weeks longer than expected, I had no reason to fault them specifically. This time, I needed a new battery. According to Tissot, the time difference and hand lag (pictured) is due to improper battery changing sequence and/or incorrect battery. When I called to let Castello know, and find out next steps, the manager Michelle was fairly rude and defensive instead of helpful and understanding. She said things like: "we change 20 batteries a day" "I have worked here for 30 years" "I have sold 100 of these watches" "We have sold Tissot for 40 years" and sooooo many other things like this instead of "let me find out about that" or "I will take care of that for you". She did come close with "we will send it to Tissot for you and report back with how much the repair will be" ....yikes. I said I was ok paying for anything not related to their apparent lack of experience changing batteries in a T-Touch, but there was no offer to stand behind their work, as I read the wrong battery can "fry" the watch, whatever that means. One last Michelle quote:(she does love to argue and be defensive) her: "Is the watch working" me: "yes" her:" that means the battery is good" LMAO I even did a little homework, emailed it to her, and asked if the battery brand used or sequence was followed. She thought the idea was absurd that she read that email from me, when all I wanted was to find out how or if they could help rectify the situation. I visited today to get my $25 back, and decided just to send to Tissot for repairs myself. A LOT more words from Michelle, most of which contradicting her statements form our phone call like "I said I would take care of it" "we have sold Tissot for 35 years" "I have worked here 31 years" etc. but no $25. They are out here just stealing money at this point lol. I will see what Tissot comes back with and if the battery was the cause of any damage, I will return for Costello for them to reimburse and hope they come to their senses and do the right thing. Stay tuned for my updated review!!
