We hired Tony to re-stucco our house. He gave us a great price and his crew did a really good job! Tony went out of his way to ensure that we selected the right color before starting the job. After the job was complete, there were a couple of spots I wanted touched up. Tony didn't hesitate, he sent his guy back right away to fix them. Our home looks beautiful and we are very happy. tony did a fine job, i wanted a color change stucco and paint trim. my house was built 1960s, the house was a challenge and tony lived up to that challenge, it turn out real nice, we had one hiccup on one of the walls so tony came back and redid that wall and it turn out great. tony made it a point to make sure all the boxes were check before leaving. the bid came in lower than most and it fit my budget so i cant complain, yes he does smoke so i gave a coffee can, we both laugh about that, so i dont see why some people complained he gave you and me a great price, i recommend pro plastering and remodeling, at least call him for a bid and see for yourselves, plus im a Vietnam vet and he works with the vets thank you tony read more

Tony Montiel and his crew did a great job re-stuccoing and painting my Mom's home in Covina. She has received many complements from family and neighbors about the new look of her home. In spite of several challenges; older home with wood damage, he made it look fresh and clean. The scope of work included lath where a chimney was removed and changing the stucco texture and color and painting the siding and trim. Tony was professional and patient while dealing with multiple family members. He gets and extra star for that. We love the new look of her home. read more

I took a gamble on trying out a different company for my last project. The gamble paid off well! Tony did an amazing job fixing the damages that I had done on the side of my house. He arrived super early to get the job done. By the time I finished breakfast and my early meetings, he had already completed the job. Claremont CA. Avoid - Failed Building Inspection. Hired Tony (Antonio Montiel Chapa) to insulate a 780 sq. ft. home addition. Tony portrayed himself as the "Expert" in insulation. Tony incorrectly installed R19 through out the addition and all his worked failed inspection. In order to pass inspection I gave Tony an additional $1k for material to correct his mistake. Tony said he would make it up on more work scheduled. Bottom line, he disappeared and stopped answering calls. If anyone needs scaffoldings ( Tony left behind) i have some for sale. Tony assisted me in plaster and stucco on the entire home. His work was very clean and detailed. His works were very professional and hard working. If I could give this Company a "zero star" review, I would! Anyone who is interested in hiring Tony and his crew need to be forewarned! He quoted us a job in Rancho Cucamonga for painting our exterior stucco which included "facia" and trim replace and/or repair as needed. The written bid was $11,400. This was about a 3 week project and about two days into the project, he began hitting us up for more money, as he said "this, that and the other", were things he didn't include in his original bid, and were going to cost us more money. We now know this should have been a warning sign. Long story short, to date, we have paid $12,000, which is actually $600 more than the original written contract and our house looks terrible! On his last day, he said he would be back the following day to finish up a few "last details" and collect the rest of the money he verbally said we owed for all of the supposed "ad-ons". After he left with his crew, and upon looking more closely at what he considered "finished", my husband and I decided that there was no way he was setting foot back on our property! We called him and told him not to bother coming back and that as far as we were concerned, we had overpaid based on the original contract. We have since had two quotes from reputable referral sources and both of them (licensed contractors) said they have never seen such a terrible job in all of their 30 years on the job. It is going to cost of thousands of dollars to undo and re-do the terrible mess he left our house in. Come to find out, Tony never DID replace any facia or trim..... instead he just had his sloppy ill trained workers use "putty or "bondo" or some sort of stucco patch on the trim. He has ruined the faux shutters in the front of our house by puttying over the areas where there was dry rot. Let's not even TALK about the front door! He didn't even take it off the hinges to re-paint it and when we complained, he said not to worry, that it was just the "first coat". As an added insult, he probably left 100 cigarette butts in our planters and his workers threw at least 20-30 of their empty water and Gatorade bottles into the bushes! My husband and I spent a full day walking around with trash bags before we could even have an Easter egg hunt for our grandchildren. He is still calling our cell phones and has even begun badgering my office staff demanding the $3,000 he claims we still owe. He even accused us of being "racist" when we refused to pay him any more money. That comment was simply laughable. Please, please don't find yourselves in the terrible predicament that we are in. Do not hire TONY! He does not have a contractors license, insurance or a bond. If you hire TONY you get exactly what I got! He portrays himself as being honest and forthright when in fact he's a thief, he will go over the contract amount. He went $27,000 over my contracted amount! $27,000 over! He used my hose and cut it in half and said he would not replace it because he did something for free! Tony does nothing for free! They stole my cigarettes and left them in my yard! They threw my cameras away for my surveillance system! A two week job took him five weeks. He hires his crew from Home Depot! I know because we asked, and we also speak Spanish which he didn't realize! What an idiot! He has no operating capital and we expressed our concern about that. Then he will want to meet you at the bank so he can cash your check and you will be there to OK it. I am not joking. Do not hire TONY unless you want a horrific job, go over the contract amount by thousands of dollars, leaves trash in your yard, his cigarette butts everywhere, a crew hired from Home Depot, never called for a final inspection, left sand and stucco at the curb and code enforcement drove by and told me I had two hours to clean it up or face $1000 fine, a thief that will steal your towels, yes my towels that were on my dryer folded they took to wipe up their mess! My stucco is cracking everywhere! My doors don't fit! He refuses to put back up the outside light because he says he doesn't do electrical yet he took the light off and of course threw it away with my cameras! My contracted amount was $31,000 and I ended up paying $57,750! He had the nerve to ask my son if I could afford this. He's a scammer he will take your money and not come back and fix anything. He will be contacted for further legal action. He took my $57,750 and he ran. Please don't be ripped off by this thief. He's not a contractor as he portrays himself. He's a liar, a thief and he does piss poor work! Any good review I believe he's reviewing himself, pay attention to the ones that are one star don't be ripped off like I got ripped off. It's gonna cost me thousands of dollars to fix his mess and yet he has my money. He will refused to take your phone calls he won't answer your texts and he will not come back with his Home Depot crew. read more

Tony asked for more money twice when he was too far into the job for me to fire him. Once for the chimney, once for a sand finish. Both cases were supposedly included in the base price. He repeatedly didn't show up when promised, and hasn't returned to complete the clean up. He basically "poor boyed" the entire project with just him and one other guy and left a huge mess (mortar on fixtures, walkways, roof tiles, lousy finish, poor texture) and has stiffed me three times on cleaning up! He writes a lousy proposal with lots of holes. I strongly discourage anyone from using him. read more
