I had been suffering a lot of pain thanks to costochondritis and some other issues for months before finally getting around to seeing a chiropractor. I picked Dr. Winthrop based partly on online reviews and also because his Costa Mesa office is close to where I live. I'm very happy that I did. He knew what costo is and immediately did some chiropractic work on my chest. I noticed a reduction in pain the next day, and now, after three sessions, the costo is more of a discomfort rather than outright pain, which is a huge relief after months of suffering. My other issues are being worked on with a combination of massage and chiropractic work and I always feel better after an appointment. Dr. Winthrop takes the time to explain what's causing my problems, how he's going to treat them and what I can do to make things better. His explanations are detailed without using a ton of jargon, which I appreciate as my knowledge of anatomy and how the body works is pretty limited. The man with both magical hands and a magical brain. Well, I'm sure many more magical features but we only had an hour! But what an hour. His pre-op questions before we even got started set the right tone for strength and a few areas that needed some extra love/abuse . The massage was quite effective. I was so happy with my massage results from Dr. Winthrop! I have always been hesitant to go to the chiropractor, but I was dealing with some unusual back and leg pain and wanted to go to someone with more knowledge of the body than a regular massage therapist. I've have a few massages before and none of them compare to Andrew's! He puts every effort his body allows to make you comfortable. My previous experiences made me very skeptical about massages because they always HURT! Andrew worked on all my tight muscles and was very cautious about my pain tolerance. I can't say enough positive things about Dr Winthrop. I broke my leg and my ankle playing football some 15+ years ago and despite going through a significant amount rehab, my leg (and as a result, my back) has plagued me since then. As a result of the injury, I would routinely throw out my back and would require weekly visits to another chiropractor. After meeting Dr. Winthrop, he very quickly figured out the cause of pain and suggested a treatment to address the underlying issue (scar tissue in my leg). After just a couple session with Dr Winthrop, I could feel my leg loosing up (no other Dr or Chiropractor has been able to come close to this result) and my leg continues to get better and better after every session. Its improved so much now that I no longer throw out my back and the tightness in my leg has significant dissipated. I suffered and ignored multiple nerve and pain issues for months due to a 5mm disc herniation in my lower back from two heavy lifting accidents + wear and tear after an aerial arts fall. I have never seen a chiropractor before, and after just 2-3 weeks of chiro care + muscle work with Dr. Winthrop I felt back to normal if not better than before. Seriously wish I would have went to him sooner. I am currently on a maintenance plan which is very affordable (and the insurance submission is super easy with his bill structure), and keeps me in check so I can continue my athletic hobbies without the symptoms I was having. Not only is he great at treating and actually solving the problems, but is great for preventive care and continued treatment if you are an athlete. Very amazed with Dr. Winthrop's care. I had been suffering from pain and movement restriction in my right shoulder for over a year but I didn't think it was that serious. It wasn't until I started my regular workouts, that my shoulder begged me to seek help, so I listened. I was lucky a friend recommended me Dr. Winthrop, and right after the first session I magically started feeling much more flexible and loose. The pain would come back intermittently specially whenever I'd get engaged in very strenuous tasks but mainly because it's my dominant arm. But I've had several regular sessions with him so far and every time I leave his office I feel absolutely renewed and quite ready to take a nap. Best of all is that the flexibility in my shoulder/arm has surprisingly increased and also I don't feel that fatigue and stingy pain I'd usually get after highly involved endeavors.
