Turns out they are in their soft opening currently where they opened about a week or two ago. Despite the coffee shop in the front of the store, they also have a photo lab at the back of the space. I saw lots of film being sold as well as overheard that they have processing services as well. I primarily came to try their coffee so I can't comment much on the photo lab services. Coffee wise the menu is basic and simple. A bit on the pricer side compared to other coffee shops in the city. They use Hatch coffee beans. I ordered a flat white to consume there. The staff were friendly and attentive and my drink was made at a reasonable time. The flat white was great. As I sipped on my drink, I admired the photography on display. They also have photography books to browse through as well! Overall, great new addition to the Chinatown area. Love the coffee and photo lab concept. Definitely would return to spend time in the space for a coffee!

There was no wait and the service was quick, and impeccable. They also have a mirror for you to check your appearance before taking the photo and the staff was able to gently and kindly remind me to move my hair, straighten up, etc to ensure the photo was taken to meet standards. I've had a few people see my passport and ask where I've gotten the photo done. Their prices are great too. My dad got lazy once and went somewhere else closer and he paid more for 1 copy than we usually do for 2. We haven't gone anywhere else ever since. This time I ended up getting two digital photos, but you have the choice of digital or 2 hard copy, and you can always come back later if you decide you also want the hard copy. Keep in mind it's cash only. They also do photo for babies. My go to spot for photos, highly recommend.

I never thought a passport photo centre would be notable enough to merit a review. However, the…read moreNorth York Passport Photo Centre offers convenience and outstanding service. The shop is located in the government building that also houses the North York Passport Office so it is convenient. The photo centre guarantees that their photos will be acceptable to the passport office and, since they are right downstairs from the office, in the very unlikely event that your photo needs to be re-taken, you only need to pop downstairs to get it re-done. Since the shop guarantees it, there is no additional charge for a re-take if the photo is rejected. The shop has a homey, welcoming feel and the proprietors are extremely friendly. They have thought of the client's needs. For example they have tissues and baby powder available on the counter so clients can blot their face to take down any facial shine before the photo is taken. The lighting is also a little softer than the usual unflattering fluorescent lit shops. In short, they try to make the most of what is typically a fairly unflattering photo and all in a turn around time of about 3 minutes. At $15.99 I felt I got excellent value at the North York Passport Photo Centre. While there are photo centres that offer cheaper passport photos (in fact I had a photo taken at one the day before where I paid $10.00 for a really awful looking photo taken under very harsh light that I ended up throwing away), I can't think of one that offers the convenience, level of service and added touches that make this shop stand out.
