The salon was full and I finally asked one of the girls at 11:20 if I would be taken soon. They eventually sat me in one of the chairs where I waited for another 10 minutes and then the owner came over and quickly started filing off my acrylic. When my nail technician finally came over, she was making comments about having money and asking me very weird questions. When they got finished doing my toes, they moved me to another station. When I selected the color I wanted she went to get it and started painting my nails. I wasn't paying too much attention to the color as I was chatting with one of the moms next to me. When I look down at my hands, I noticed a completely different color and asked the girl what happened to the color I selected in which she replied she didn't like that color so she picked another one. When I asked her to please paint my nails, the color I selected she got irritated, quickly started filing the color off and pushed my hands down and told me to go wash. The salon was filthy, everything was old and on top of that, they ended up charging me more than the price I was told. I found out a girlfriend of mine had a similar experience with her daughter there. This place is a disaster and would recommend never going there for your nails.

The unpleasant surprise came when she was getting ready to apply nail polish, but some of my nails were not cut properly to the point that it would've made a whole in socks. I politely asked to address it when I noticed that the rest of the nails were hardly cleaned and cuticles still there. I asked if she is planning on cleaning the nails and remove the cuticles properly. The answer was no as I selected the express service which means 20 minutes. I attached the description of the express service- nowhere it says 20 minutes or the fact that job will be half way done. I questioned the price to value ration since $40 for 20 min means $120/hour and I know college graduates and nurses who don't make $120/h. When I checked out, I was told that if I pay with card is $4 more. This is another way to make money as the card fee is 3% for in person charge which is $1.2. I paid cash, but have not received a receipt. The disappointment was doubled when I learned that she was the owner of the nail salon.

She did it so spotty and didn't even get it to the edges. Literally the worst polish job I've had yet. No cuticle work, so I looked at my nails when she finished and they already looked like they were a week old. At this point I had gel polish on my nails and there was nothing that could be done unless I got it fully redone. It took 2 hours from start to finish, so there was no way I could wait around any longer. They agreed that it didn't look great, but said there was nothing they could do and still charged me the extra amount for the gel polish and claimed my Groupon. The lady was nice (I believe her name was Tammy) but it seemed like it was hard for her to see super well and that's why the attention to detail was off. Bella offers everything you need - hair, body and nail services - all in one convenient location: Downtown Excelsior. I used to get my eyebrows waxed at Bella (I now try to maintain on my own to save $, but when I do get them waxed, I no longer go to Bella - no particular reason). I've had an awesome massage at Bella... they give you the royal treatment... flip flops, plush white robe, tea and a warm fire place while you wait... when the masseuse leaves the room at the end of the service, she goes into the locker room and turns on the shower for you so it is ready and warm when you get in there. I've also had a pedicure at Bella and loved it. One downfall to Bella is the parking. Being in Downtown Excelsior makes parking sparse from the get-go and it doesn't help that Bella has a very small number of spaces reserved for customers. There is a tiny lot behind the building with room for about 4 or 5 cars - unfortunately, it's a small driveway to get back to the lot and you have no idea if it's full or not. So, if you get back there and it's full, you have to back up, go forward, back up, go forward, etc to turn around and get back out to the street. I got my pedicure in the dead of winter and had to walk a block and a half in flip flops to get to my car because there were no parking spaces nearby when I arrived.
