Jeff was the first massage therapist to find and work out the issues I had with my shoulders and arms. It is very common amongst make-up artists and hairstylists like myself to have serious neck, shoulder and back issues. I have had MRI's, stim and other massage therapists before, but Jeff was the first to go right to the areas needed for the cure. Thanks buddy, You're a life savor! Ali read more

I am a 31 year old fitness enthusiast and athlete and pride myself in physical health and overall well-being. I grew up playing competitive sports and have generally avoided major injuries. Since graduating college... I have continued playing sports including baseball, soccer, running, surfing, mountain biking, and lots of time in the gym. When I got closer to 30, my body had some "wear and tear" issues and I didn't know where to turn. A friend of mine recommended I try Jeff at Pro Massage when I had some elbow issues after throwing a football for too long. I saw Jeff and after two sessions, an issue that had nagged me for 2 months was history. I have since returned to get work on my hips (general tightness from desk job), shoulders (rotator cuffs), and arm (bicep tendon), and all of my issues have been alleviated by his magic hands. Always pleasant and truly a professional, I would recommend Jeff and Pro Massage to anyone that has muscle pain or injury. I can't tell you how important it has been getting back into action quickly, and PM has been a large part of that secret sauce. read more

Jeff is an amazing professional who can really help transform the way you feel. I have had several treatments from him at Pro Massage and every single time I notice a big difference in the way I move and feel afterwards. Anyone who wants to feel and perform better should definitely book an appointment with Jeff. I like the fact that he is professional and makes sure to explain what he is doing as well as instruct things we can do on our own. Any time somebody asks me where to go to get the best sports massage and treatment for soft tissue I always recommend Jeff. read more

Thank you Jeff, for an incredible deep tissue massage. I was looking for relief from my hamstring injury and I found it here. Excellent massage technique and advice for future at home exercises. Jeff suggested Lacrosse balls which I now use nightly combined with my foam rolling. In addition, the music and his pup created a fantastic ambience. This massage really kick started my healing. Happy to report I'm back to running again. Highly recommend Pro massage !! YAY!! read more

I first saw Jeff over a year and a half ago as I was prepping for my first bodybuilding show in over a decade. I had a nagging hamstring issue that I had been dealing with for nearly 6 months and after one visit I easily felt 75% better. Within a month my problem was virtually gone. With his help and guidance I did stretches and exercises to ensure the issue wouldn't return, and ever since have turned to him to keep my body in top performance condition. Beyond actual injuries he has helped me to correct any body imbalances I have, and continues to do so, so that I can create that top physique I am striving for while also staying healthy and mobile. To call what he does massage is just silly. He corrects body issues in a very direct and to the point manner that will save any athlete valued time they need to get bigger, faster and stronger. If someone is trying to reach the top of their sport or even just a weekend warrior, his services will change your game. I know he works on lots of non athletes as well and as a trainer myself find his services very important to the everyday joe who just needs to be loosened up due to repetitive movement (or lack of movement- like sitting in a chair all day). I can't take my clients to the next level of health if they arent addressing ALL issues from the ground up- and mobility is a huge one for many. Besides just begin great at his craft, Jeff is so down to earth and so in touch with the needs of people on his table- something that is very hard to teach. I really feel so lucky as an athlete to have him in my corner read more

One placid Spring morning in March, I arose from my slumber to be greeted with an aggresively sharp pain radiating down the right side of my neck, through my upper back. I could barely turn my head to the right and a sharp stabbing pain persisted, which felt like a nerve impingement. I needed help quick but I didn't know where to turn. As an exercise therapist myself and avid fitness enthusiast, I knew that my neck required immediate and professional attention, deep within the muscles, beyond the scope of any chiropractor or standard masseuse. I needed someone who works with professional athletes and top level physiques, who possessed a strong grip and even stronger work ethic. I stepped inside PRO MASSAGE to find JEFF METCALF in his comfortably quaint, yet intimate office setting, performing a deep muscle massage on a client that seemed to be a bit acrobatic. The longer I watched and experienced JEFF'S technique and vast knowledge of the human muscular system i knew that I was in the right place. I waited for 45 minutes to book a session, and upon completion, my instinct proved to be correct... After the DEEP tissue work at PRO MASSAGE, the degree of my neck's rotation had been fully restored and I was able to continue my workouts free from pain and discomfort. He helped me tremendously and will be seeing a lof me my friends and I in the near future! Thanks Jeff! read more

I had a great first experience here the other day! I had a lot of neck and back strain from my job. Regular relaxation-type massage was not getting into these awful knots in my shoulder and hip, and Jeff is the first person who really dug in and got somewhere with it, in just a single session. I was a little worried about going into the Gold's Gym building since I am far from being a bodybuilder, but Jeff put me at ease. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and super strong. I'll definitely go back. read more

Jeff worked on me regularly when he worked at Santa Monica Sports Medicine and I can honestly say he is the best I have ever had. I look forward to visiting him in his new location. His techniques and level of pressure is always just right. His list of clientele is impressive and he is well known within the bodybuilding industry for being effective and professional simply from word of mouth. I would absolutely recommend Pro Massage/Jeff for any type of therapeutic sports massage. As an avid runner, I have been experiencing some serious IT band issues. I was referred by a friend to see Jeff to help work it out and figure out what was going on. I have only had a few treatments so far, and he already has me back on track to get fixed up. He takes the time to explain everything to you, give you strengthening exercises if they're needed and answer any questions. He is a great guy who genuinely cares about his work and his clients! read more

Jeff is an amazing therapist. His knowledge of the body paired with his strength makes for awesome treatment. I have seen him on and off for years, usually when prepping for competitions as a CrossFit Athlete. He is able to work out the kinks and injuries that I can't and give great advice for my self care at home. I work as a fitness coach so I also send many of my clients to him-all come back happy and on the path to healing and feeling good. Anyone looking for deep body work- Jeff is your guy. He is easy to talk to and spells everything out very clearly. 100% worth a visit. read more

Pro Massage has been a HUGE help in my past training injuries and my TMJ. I have never been able to find a therapist to help with my TMJ besides Jeff. I have had a lot of sports massages over the years, but nothing compares to his expertise and ability to work the muscles so deep. I HIGHLY recommend Pro Massage for any injuries or rehab needed. His work has been a game changer for me and the pain I was previously in. read more

Coming from an athlete, personal trainer and general gym rat, to find someone that can get to cause of your dysfunction, pain, lack of range of motion, and can improve you abilities in just one visit. I knew Jeff was that guy after one visit! I have been coming to Jeff for over 2 years now to get body work done. LA Massage is no Spa, its a place to get work done. there are no candles, no babbling brooks, its a small office where all level athletes, gym goers and active people go to get work done and to deal with range of motion issues. That is exactly what I like about it. Jeff is a great guy with a lot of knowledge and experience, that why I went to him in the first place. He some how is able to listen to what I am describing and always get to a solution. That and he will jam any kind of music you want during your sessions. read more

I can't say enough how much i appreciate pro massage. I'm not a body builder I'm just an average girl with hip and foot problems. While this kind of work can be scary, Jeff makes it comfortable and make you want to come back for more. He has made my aches and pains go away. He also gives you exercises that you can do on your own that really help with the healing process. I can't say enough about pro massage. Jeff you are the muscle God!!! My hips and foot thank you too :) read more

Where do I even begin? And are there even enough amazing words to describe Jeff and his abilities to knock out even the toughest of knots, adhesions, & gummed up stuff that eventually lead to injuries..... I had gone from one physical therapist to another, then to massage person after massage person, on to body workers of one type or another, to another after another.... and so on.... and one day a friend said "why don't you go see Jeff, he's really good"... (since thats what they all say, I ignored it until my husband developed a small tweak in his low back from deadlifting that needed some assistance. I set an appointment for my husband with Jeff and when my husband came home he said, "it's gone! You should go see him..." So I did just that. I went the following week and Jeff in one single session got rid of the glute pain Iwas having that would not allow me to sitfor long or drive long distances without me squirming in my seat.... Jeff is fabulous, he listens, he knows just what technique to apply and if he isn't sure of something or, it's a tougher area than expected, he thinks about it figures it out, researches it and gets it the next time. Jeff won't stop!! He is determined to fix the ailments we have as athletes, weekend warriors, and gym goers. You won't be sorry you saw Jeff. Thats a promise for sure! read more

I wrote and directed the film Bigger Stronger Faster which examines the American obsession with winning and enhancing performance. I think what many people don't realize is that guys like Jeff Metcalf can enhance your performance naturally everyday. Jeff and I used to work together at Golds Venice. When I had a hip replaced and needed a therapist I figured I'd give my buddy a shot. This was years ago and I can tell you from then on he's been my guy. He just cares about his patients more than anyone. He'll push you hard but won't hurt you. He'll ask a lot of you and what you get in return is scars on my hips that once felt like beef jerky being as smooth as a baby's ass (pardon my language Jude). Jeff is awesome and he'll fix you up. Trust me, I've been to everyone. I've been in the business of abusing my body for years in powerlifting. This is your guy. The fact that he offers several locations is great too. read more

Nobody's better than Jeff. I've had tons of massages and even owned a spa for 7 years and Jeff is by far the best at body work that I've ever encountered. Jeff is the guy you go to for real body work. If you have an injury, a nagging pain, constant tightness, knots, limited range of motion, etc Jeff is the guy you go to. I like to chat during our sessions and it's clear when I talk to him that he is incredibly schooled and knowledgeable about the body. I love how he is an expertise in a wide array of body work modalities so when I go to him I know I'll get the best treatment that is right for me. I find most other practitioners specialize in one or two techniques and then you're treatment with them is limited to those two styles. Jeff's expertise includes DSM, ART, corrective exercises, laser therapy, IASTM, Interx, and so on. So I know with him that I get the best treatment for my body available. Plus, he's just a great guy and I always look forward to our sessions! Couldn't recommend him any higher! read more

Simply the best. I'd back pain for 5 years that no one could stop. Jeff had me on track with a couple of sessions. I'm free to do what I like & I have more energy now as it's not all being used to try & hold my back in place. read more
