These guys installed my AC condenser last year. Everything worked out and they had a great price.

Water Heater Doctor - Rinnai RXP199in tankless water heater installed in interrior of home with roof termination kit

All went well and because they can do other plumbing tasks besides water heater maintenance, they looked at my other needs and will get back to me with suggestions. The best!

My gas tank water heater was 20 years old and I decided to replace it pre-emptively. I requested a…read morequote from 3 companies, one of which was the Water Heater Doctor. Their quote came in the lowest and Brandon was extremely helpful on the phone, so I ended up choosing them. - The quote process was great: I submitted their online form, they gave me a call asking for more details, I sent them a few pictures, and they gave me another call with solutions and a quote. The quote also happened to be the cheapest of the 3 companies I got bids from. - The installation went very smoothly. I understand that direct vent water heaters are a little tricky to install, but Brandon installed perfectly. He arrived on time, got rid of our old water heater, and added a new water heater with several fixes: the overflow pipe now runs to the sink, he used a "flex vent" kit so the water heater can sit on the ground, and he put the water heater in a tray to reduce issues from slow leaks since I don't have a basement drain. - After the install, Brandon taught me how to change the temp / turn the water heater off / how to flush it / how to change the anode rod. Very pleased with the work and my new water heater is working flawlessly. The only downside was that there was no permit. I'm no expert on permits. Portland's website says that water heater changes require a permit. Brandon said it's a "gray area" for residential. I am not planning on selling the house and things looked good to me, so I don't mind too much.

Conrad Heating & Cooling - New air conditioner installation

The job itself was pretty challenging due to a very small space to even insert a properly sized wrench for the job. However Dmitri didn't give up and successfully managed to tighten the parts after applying sealant. Since it was still warm outside, we didn't use the heater until 4-5 days later when Dmitri came back to verify the sealant he used had cured properly. Then sometime in February Conrad texted me about a promotion they had for a tune-up and maintenance service. Happy to accept and Leo came and performed the verification. Great they could accommodate my time as well: again a Saturday.

I almost fell for this trick. But as he pressed me to make an appointment, he asked me what kind of a/c unit I have, which is an odd question for someone who has worked on our equipment previously. I then asked him directly, "Have I done business with you before?" No response. So I asked again. No response. It turns out, I have no record of doing business with Conrad Heating & Cooling, because we have never done business with this company! I told him I would not be scheduling anything with Conrad. This representative didn't even know what type of unit we have, confirming there was no prior relationship. The familiar tone of the initial text was a deliberate tactic to create a false sense of trust. And I find that very offensive! I'd encourage other homeowners, especially seniors who are frequently targeted by this kind of approach, to read unsolicited texts carefully. If a company implies they've worked with you before, ask specific questions before agreeing to anything. In this case, the deception became obvious very quickly.

I sincerely hope he did an OK job, but I don't know. When our contractor introduced John, he came to our house and listened politely to our needs, was courteous, and appeared to be fair and easy to deal with. The work was done, but after my wife and I moved back into our house we discovered that our upstairs shower was sputtering and dripping and not flowing properly, and our tub faucet was dripping constantly. There was a third issue in which pipes had been installed in a way that prevented us from closing the vanity unit drawers. None of these seemed like huge issues to remedy, and I informed John and our contractor. After 10 days without a response from John and a couple of reminders from me, I sent a more direct request for some kind of acknowledgment that my messages had been received. The next morning I received a text that said; "You think my schedule just allows for extra trips, and it does not. Your general contractor needs to handle your further issues, as my obligations have been met and even exceeded past what was agreed upon. You are the difficult one here." I was quite surprised, but called John to ask why he was so upset at being asked for a simple response from a customer. What followed was a tirade of foul language delivered at the top of his voice, peppered with frequent use of the F word, and addressing me in terms such as "You Dumbass". I was so shocked that a small business owner would talk to a client in this way that I wasn't sure what to say next. After efforts by me to get simple answers to my technical questions, John hung up and, I think, blocked my number, after the parting text: "Unnapreciative [sic] and always wanting more! That's the type of customer you have proven to be!" That says it all really about my experience with the customer service standards of Dad's Plumbing. I let our contractor know, and he is sending in a different company to remedy the issues.
