Additionally, since the back and side doors were left wide open a variety of animals had wandered in and started living and deficating throughout the entire house. My wife and I were stunned by the degree of damage to each and every single room and open space. We began the process of investigating companies that did home restoration and after several interviews hired Quality Restoration. This proved to be the single best decision we made. The owners, Lem and Kristy, are simply outstanding both at what they do for a living as well as trustworthy and honest people. They carefully studied the situation, telling me precisely what had to be done, in what order, and at what cost. Once everything was carefully laid out, they requested very reasonable deposits and began to implement everything from Biohazard cleaning to rebuilding walls that had been knocked down to constructing a new bedroom out of a previously open area. In each case, they provided me with detailed plans laying out what they were going to do during each phase of the overall process as well as numerous before and after photos so I could see what they had done and approve the quality of their work before paying the money owed for that step in the process. Net, it took the better part of four months for them to complete a process that required them to literally rebuild every room in the entire house including the kitchen, all three bedrooms, the dining room and the great room. The house now looks absolutely gorgeous and we are about to put it on the market at, thanks to the fine folks from Quality Restoration, a price that almost 20 percent higher than we paid for it only 2 1/2 years ago. This is a long overdue review for ATH! They handled two major home projects for us in 2025 in a…read moremidcentury modern condo. This review is for the first one, a bedroom ceiling/roof leak that needed mold mitigation, asbestos testing and renovation. March 2025: Leak originally started as a moisture spot on the ceiling in October 2024 but my HOA ignored it. By March 2025, the ceiling had become so compromised that water streamed in like a waterfall during a massive storm. My original contact was Noah - he gave me an estimate (along with two other companies). I really appreciated how Noah was communicative, informative and thorough. And! he didn't badger me w/ phone calls & emails, like the other two companies did. He understood that I said I would take care of the situation when I could b/c I was in the middle of Massage Therapy school. I understood the "risks" of having mold & just shut the bedroom off. Fast forward to August 2025 & now we're ready to take care of the situation. Noah followed protocol of getting an asbestos test first. Luckily, it was negative. Then Spencer, their Mitigation Specialist? built a special containment room, inside the guest bedroom that sealed off the contaminated area. Heavy duty fans stayed on for about 72 hours? so the area could be thoroughly dried after being treated w/ some kind of mold treatment. Noah was available via text when I had questions - that was surprising & super helpful! Once Mitigation was completed, Noah connected me w/ Jacob at their Restoration Department. He sent over a stellar crew led by David & they proceeded to rebuild about a quarter of the bedroom - meant to mention that they had to rip out dry wall, scaffolding, etc. This crew rebuilt and then refinished the area, including re-installing wainscotting and painting the ceiling + walls. The results? This bedroom looks gorgeous! We were thrilled with how thorough/smooth ATH was w/ this process & how the renovation turned out. After several attempts to acquire details that would require $800 rather than$400, we haggled back and forth by text message, with him dodging my questions with pledges to "get back to you tomorrow", or some such. I had ready prepaid the $400 he demanded thru PayPal when our dialog ended, with his pledge to refund (most) of that $400 prepayment. That was the last word from him, and that was three weeks ago! Let this be a warning to NOT prepay for a project that doesn't at most pay for some of the materials and perhaps travel. Don't get taken to the cleaners as I had. I may have dismissed a loss of $400, but at least it didn't become the $800 he was licking his lips over.
