I'm blessed enough to have wonderful dental coverage through my job, so when my primary provider…read moretold me that I needed to have my root canal from 5 years ago retreated I wasn't totally bummed. My previous root canal was performed in south jersey by a lovely dentist whose name escapes me now, of course. I could only hope that the referral I received from my primary would be to an equally as wonderful specialist. Dr. Goldberg faaaaaar exceeded my hopes! The office located in a commercial strip near the sesame place campus. I arrive for a 7:45a appointment at 7:30a. I entered the buildings main door and the office was immediately to my left. It was closed! Lights out! Seeing as this was my first experience at this location, I was immediately disheartened...I can't imagine (even after exceptional service) that it's the best practice to show up at the same time as your first appointment. This was exactly what happened. I watched two women enter the office from the side entrance (which is only a few panes down from the main entrance so I watched them come in from my car). I waited a moment and then tried again; this time the door was open. I entered and heard the audible doorbell announcing me. There was no one at the reception desk then and no one peaked out for about 5 minutes. Once someone did peak out it was all smooth sailing! Filled out a short form (standard stuff) and soon after I was taken to my seat and recieved an XRay from the dental assistant (hygienist?) When Dr Goldberg came in it was like someone turning on a bright light ... and then pouring espresso on it lol. He was loud and vibrant, shook my hand and immediately told a terrible joke haha. He'd remind you of an uncle (the kind that marries your aunt, not your mothers brother kind) that sneaks you candy and gives you a few bucks when your parents tell him your on punishment. I absolutely loved his personality and I'm CRABBY in the morning - remember it's about 830a at this point and I hadn't had coffee because I was coming to the dentist. He requested a second X-ray, 3D this time, to get a feel for any bone loss and depth of infection. The assistant walked me to another room, covered me in the metal bib, demonstrated the necessary pose and in a few minutes I was back to the procedure room. Dr Goldberg went over each image with me, explaining how the image was produced and pointing out the subtle lights and shadows that indicated normal and problem issues. When he confirmed that the recommendation for root canal retreat was the best course of action (after explaining the alternatives) I was ready to go! Side note// this is my second root canal on the same problem tooth. Don't believe the hype about root canals being painful. I felt NOTHING either time and even now, I've taken only inbuprofen for moderate ache (not ouch). He was pleased that I had agreed to have the root canal performed right then. I was pleased that he was willing to do it (and not reschedule for later on). The entire procedure lasted maybe 30 minutes and he Dr Goldberg sang OUTLOUD - like in the shower style - the entire time. He replaced my temp crown and complimented my primary dentist on always creating nice temp crowns :) i left with a Rx for antibiotics for a week and an appointment for a followup two weeks later. And a pen from the pen cup - I've gotten better pens from other dentists but I won't take away any points from Doc Goldberg, he probably left that up to a staffer. Anyway, I'm glad I got over my initial grievance because Dr Goldberg was totally worth it. I don't know about the Philadelphia office of the same name, but if they don't have a Doctor Goldberg I won't make any plans to get to know them.

I used to come here quite often, and a few years ago when I discovered this place I gave it a…read more5-star review on Google. I'm going to update and retract my initial review. FIRST THOUGHTS When I first started coming here, the office was female-run. Female doctors and staff are super empathetic and trustworthy! They were so helpful. I had come to this dental office after another dentist (a male no less) was performing a malpractice procedure on my teeth to try and make himself extra money for his business. This was years ago when the economy was rough, and once again, if the economy is rough you can count on dental groups like these to go down hill rapidly! PARKING There is a very small parking lot. It's not paved. It's gravel. If it's full, the streets are big enough to do some street parking. OUTSIDE APPEARANCE From the outside it looks dingy and small, and when I first came here I was nervous because I have history with dentists being unfit to really care for my teeth. I think the orange colors they chose were trying to be welcoming, but it just does the opposite effect. It stands out like a sore thumb and it just looks so out of place in the middle of nowhere! INSIDE APPEARANCE It is a small location, the colors of the walls aren't warm or inviting at all. They just felt like a ticking time bomb. Honestly, my mom has similar paint colors in her house and she was super bored one day when she chose to paint them these colors. That's exactly the feeling I get from the color choices. There aren't many seats available in the waiting room, but I never waited too long to wait to begin with. STAFF The staff in the past were all female run, over time there have been more and more men. The nurses and doctors I got to know, were on their way out not long after. I never was treated by the same doctor more than twice. The females were more gentle, communicative, and understanding. The men are the problems! They want to man handle everything and tell me I have problems with my teeth when I don't. I go to get a second opinion elsewhere, and they don't see anything this place has pulled out of thin air! They definitely are running a shady business! I haven't been back in months because I moved out of state, and time and time again, when the economy isn't doing well, these so-called "professionals" will try to say you need some type of expensive procedure. For me, it's always them mentioning removing my very HEALTHY wisdom teeth. I've had these for over 8 years, no issues. My orthodontist has said my mouth has room for them, and I've never had an issue with them unless a dentist has done something to prod around and give me an issue! And they, and other male dentists before this group, have! Dentists makes around $3000 - $4000 per wisdom tooth extraction, that's a lot of money for a business in a hard economy. So of course they're going to try and trap people who think this is a necessary procedure. It's not. Do your research. Once I go to a new dentist and heal my teeth, low and behold nothing is wrong with them it's just dentists performing malpractice! OVERALL While this dental group WAS amazing in the past, I can't say the same anymore. Thankfully, I've moved out of state. This group just made me fear dentists all over again, and has added to my list of dentist offices who are willing to practice malpractice just to make ends meet in any economy.

This dental office was gracious enough to give us an appointment that same week on a Saturday, which was such a relief. What I thought might be simple cavities turned out to require two root canals. To make matters more stressful, I had forgotten that my son was no longer covered under my insurance -- so he had no insurance at all. Dental work without insurance can be extremely expensive, but the office never treated us any differently. They were kind, understanding, and professional throughout the entire process. They helped me complete an application with Cherry, a company that offers payment plans for medical and wellness services. Thank God I was approved, because it truly made all the difference. I was there all day, but the staff made sure I was comfortable, kept me updated on my son's progress, and clearly communicated when he would be finished. There truly are not enough good things I can say about this office. It means so much when people go the extra mile to make sure you're okay during a stressful situation. I'm beyond grateful for the care, compassion, and professionalism we received. Highly recommend. Alicia Leroy
