The assessment wasn't bad, but they did recommend re‑insulating my attic due to the age of the existing insulation. When I contacted Atticare for an estimate, I learned they partner directly with PSE&G on home energy‑efficiency projects, which immediately made the process smoother. Stephen (Inspection & Sales) - Stephen arrived exactly at the scheduled time and was friendly from the moment he walked in. He inspected my attic, measured the square footage, and walked me through all available insulation options. No upselling...just available options. Based on our conversation about my high winter heating bills, he also suggested that my outer walls likely needed insulation. Before giving me any pricing, he made sure I understood that Atticare would secure the best possible PSE&G rebate. They ultimately obtained a sizable rebate (free money!) and a 0% loan for 72 months billed as part of my monthly utilities bill, which allowed me to insulate all three floors of outer walls in addition to the attic. Nick & Crew (Attic Insulation) - Nick and his team also arrived right on time. He explained the scope of work clearly and determined the most efficient way to complete it. His crew worked quickly and had the entire attic insulated in under a day. Victor & Crew (Outer Wall Insulation) - Like Stephen and Nick, Victor and his team were punctual and professional. Because my home's exterior is stucco, he explained the indoor insulation process in detail. His team moved furniture away from the outer walls, covered everything with plastic sheeting, and got to work. I will note that dust mitigation could be improved for walls and furnishings -- not a dealbreaker, but tightening that up would elevate the experience even further. Critter Control South Jersey is my new Bestie. I suffered with a prior company more than 2 very…read morepricey years and got no rodent relief (maybe 15 mice caught in traps over all that time?) Critter Control is very $$$$$ expensive, over $3000; but I wasted almost that much money on mouse traps and service calls with the prior company over two years. After agreeing to the plan "C.C. came within days to begin. C.C. went on my new roof and found opening in soffits, and patched all openings. Installed a metal cage over my attic fan on roof. They rebuilt the collapsed paver stoop (and caught the responsible tunnel varmint). Installed one way exits so vermin would go out and not come back inside attic. Put some rat traps in attic and caught flying squirrels. Prior company said: I'm not setting a rat trap- "I could lose a finger"! Cleaned and sanitized the attic. They used poison in the exterior bait boxes, controlling rodents before they get inside. I did have an inadvertent double billing of $1200 for a final treatment, but I think its been remedied? Most companies will not make repairs or patch entry points. I tried for a year to find a contractor to do it with no luck. I felt the price was worth what I might have spent with a contractor to find and fix openings? Downside: very hard to get in touch with the local branch and must go through a toll free national number that never picks up. C.C. sets up monthly appointments without checking and then its complicated to change. I now have a direct ph for James, so will be better moving forward.... However, 2 months in I am not hearing scratching so at least for the money I got results! Woooo Hooooo!

The service itself took approximately 30 minutes, after which we were presented with an unexpectedly high bill. Given the lack of prior communication, we felt pressured into paying for a service we had not agreed to at that price. While we are grateful that the raccoons were removed, the job felt incomplete. No cleaning or sanitization was performed, leaving us to address contamination concerns on both our main floor and back deck ourselves--adding further time and expense. Additionally, we were told this was the only service of its kind in our area, which we know not to be the case. Overall, the lack of transparency, communication, and follow-through made this a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this company based on our experience.

I had to put in window units upstairs even though I have central air conditioning, because it was always hot in summers. Ralph came by, looked at the crawl space, and suggested that it was my attic that needed more insulating. I didn't even know I had an attic because the home inspection report said a previous addition upstairs was the attic itself. Ralph was right. He gave me a quote, didn't try to upsell me, and answered other heating and cooling questions I then had. The crew, led by Francisco, were three hardworking and polite guys who neatly cut a small hole in my upstairs ceiling, blew in fiberglass, went into the crawl space, vacuumed it entirely, cleaned the transfer grille that was located at the top of the staircase (bad location), and closed everything back up. If you have uneven temperatures or think you need a new unit, get your attic insulation looked at, even if it's inaccessible to you. Not a DIY job. Let these guys do it, it's all they do and they know their stuff.
