Eventually, they did acknowledge the mistake they made, and were still absolutely rude. Whatever they have going on.. there is no reason to treat people like that. Rarely in my life have I experienced anything like this. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I am still shocked about what happened and how I was treated.

On Saturday afternoon, I took my clothes in a basket with hangers to THE CLEANERS on Penman Rd. When I inquired if they provide a wash and fold service they seemed puzzled. "you don't need anything pressed?" The rude owner inquired. I replied "No, just folded". "What are the hanger for?" "Please hang the shirts", I said. He seemed disturbed by my request and was generally rude and uncivil. As a cleaner wouldn't it be obvious what the hanger are for??? He accepted the clothes and abruptly handed me the pick up ticket. It would not be ready until Tuesday, which surprised me that it would take so long for something that could easily be done on-site, but that was OK I was in no hurry. Tuesday afternoon I arrived to pick up my clothes, the lady who was working seem to have a difficult time finding my laundry. After about 5 minute search she finally brought out my basket. The total was $44.70, I felt that was high for a small basket of clothes, but I paid and inquired how were the charged compiled. " We charge $2.79 per pound". That seemed excessive but I paid and left. When I got home I weighed my clothes, basket and hangers. The total weight was less than 10.5 pounds, basket, hangers and all!!! I took the clothes back up and explained the discrepancy and the lady seemed perplexed as what to do. She checked my ticket and said I was charged for 14 pound. She re-weighed my basket and confirmed it was only 10.5 pound. Instead of an apology and a refund she called the owner (I assume). During her conversation with the owner she insinuated that I had removed items to reduce the weight. At that point I left never to return and told her that someone at this cleaners is a cheat and a thief! The scale that they weigh on is very simple and clear. It could not have been an honest mistake. Not only did they cheat and steal from me. They kept the nice felt covered hangers that I brought and replaced them with cheap wire hangers. They had my contact info if they wanted to make this right. But I never received an explanation, apology or refund. In my opinion this business owner is a THIEF and will CHEAT and STEAL from his customers. DO NOT USE "THE CLEANERS" on Penman Rd.

The staff was polite and attentive upon drop off and pick up. The cost for the 4 items I dropped off actually ended up being fairly reasonable as well. I was just a bit concerned about that as I wasn't told upon dropping them off. I was given the option of how quickly these needed to be turned around. Overall a very good experience. Nothing to do with Herman Jackson's, but parking is always an adventure in San Marco and it would be nice if they had their own parking. It would also be nice to have an idea of what the cost was going to be before leaving the drop off but the fact that it was reasonable more than made up for that. Great place to use of you need a dry cleaner in Jacksonville. I recommend you give them a try.

I've been dog sitting so much this summer and recently a Yorkie peed on one of my rugs. Of course I used Resolve to clean the spot, but that wasn't going to cut it for me. I saw Jack's in the Valpak monthly coupon mailing. I'm always willing to try a business when they offer me savings. I had a 50% off coupon (max of $10), so I rolled up the rugs, packed them in the car and headed to Jack's. I almost fell over when he gave me the price but they needed cleaned. I had to prepay and was told they will be ready in a week. He called me Friday and said they were ready so I picked them up Saturday morning. They looked and smelled fresh and clean. The owner Jack was courteous and told me he had been in business for 14 years. He was the first store to open in the Target shopping center. I liked the location as he was on the end so there was plenty of parking. And he helped me carry the rugs to my car which was nice.
