On Saturday afternoon, I took my clothes in a basket with hangers to THE CLEANERS on Penman Rd. When I inquired if they provide a wash and fold service they seemed puzzled. "you don't need anything pressed?" The rude owner inquired. I replied "No, just folded". "What are the hanger for?" "Please hang the shirts", I said. He seemed disturbed by my request and was generally rude and uncivil. As a cleaner wouldn't it be obvious what the hanger are for??? He accepted the clothes and abruptly handed me the pick up ticket. It would not be ready until Tuesday, which surprised me that it would take so long for something that could easily be done on-site, but that was OK I was in no hurry. Tuesday afternoon I arrived to pick up my clothes, the lady who was working seem to have a difficult time finding my laundry. After about 5 minute search she finally brought out my basket. The total was $44.70, I felt that was high for a small basket of clothes, but I paid and inquired how were the charged compiled. " We charge $2.79 per pound". That seemed excessive but I paid and left. When I got home I weighed my clothes, basket and hangers. The total weight was less than 10.5 pounds, basket, hangers and all!!! I took the clothes back up and explained the discrepancy and the lady seemed perplexed as what to do. She checked my ticket and said I was charged for 14 pound. She re-weighed my basket and confirmed it was only 10.5 pound. Instead of an apology and a refund she called the owner (I assume). During her conversation with the owner she insinuated that I had removed items to reduce the weight. At that point I left never to return and told her that someone at this cleaners is a cheat and a thief! The scale that they weigh on is very simple and clear. It could not have been an honest mistake. Not only did they cheat and steal from me. They kept the nice felt covered hangers that I brought and replaced them with cheap wire hangers. They had my contact info if they wanted to make this right. But I never received an explanation, apology or refund. In my opinion this business owner is a THIEF and will CHEAT and STEAL from his customers. DO NOT USE "THE CLEANERS" on Penman Rd.

They told me they'd call me when the alterations to the pants were done, so I could pick everything up at once, and that they would probably be calling me in a week. Frankly, I forgot about it until three weeks later, and then I realized that they had never called me. I called them, spoke to someone who said he had no idea where my tailoring was, but to just come in and they would find it, he was the only one there, and he was really busy. So I go there, and wait for 20 minutes while a woman who works there turns the place upside-down looking for my pants and my dry-cleaning. She finally locates it. The charge for bringing the cuffs up an inch is a very expensive $32. And, they dry-cleaned the pants as well, even though I handed them the pants on a hanger encased in plastic from another dry cleaner. That was another $15. I asked them why they cleaned the pants again when they could see that the trousers were already clean and had just come from another dry cleaners, and they told me flatly that it was company policy to do that. They said they would discount the alterations price to $25, since I had to wait so long at the counter. The discounted price is still way too high for simply bringing the cuffs up an inch. The three cotton dress shirts and two pairs of dress trousers I left for dry cleaning cost me another $51, so that was a pretty expensive visit I made there. It was foolish for me not to ask about their pricing when I dropped everything off, but I didn't, because I didn't imagine it could possibly be that expensive to take up the cuffs on a pair of pants. Or, for that matter, to have three shirts and two pairs of pants dry-cleaned. The breathtaking prices and the complete lack of follow-through regarding calling me when the work was done, and then, the ridiculous wait there at the counter when they couldn't find my clothes all work together to produce a 1-star review. I'll never use these people again...

This all began when my long time and trusted cleaners closed, seems the owners wanted to return to their homeland. I respect that, but man were they good and now very much missed. So I took one load, got everything back, seemed like I was missing some things, went back, was told no nothing there. Took an additional load, went to pick it up on the day they stated, first issue; Did I have my numbered slip? Seems they cannot work from names or anything, you are a "number". Note, the last cleaners I used even recognized my car and would have things pulled and waiting before I could get to the door. So, the lady who helped me was one of the owners, actually the "mom", she brought me a set of clothes, that while were mine, actually were the ones that I had been missing from the last visit. NOT the ones I was actually there to retrieve. While I was glad to get my things and prove I was not loosing my memory, I also very much wanted my other stuff. I mentioned that this was not the main part of what I had left, the lady hurriedly looked around and came back pointing to my receipt where they had written "3" items on the slip. Swearing to me that all I had there was three items. Would not accept my explanation that they still had an entire bag of my laundry. The "son" stepped in saying no, he remembered I had more, it would be ready later. But bring my receipt. So I got back to this cleaners the next day, yep all ready, including two shirts they ruined, together those shirts cost me over $200 and had probably been worn maybe three times. Each had rust looking spots on them that of course they swore were that way when I brought them in. NOT. At this point the "son" asked if I was interested in paying MORE to have the spots removed. REALLY! At this point I paid the bill stating that I would not be back, poor quality work, bad system, bad attitude and expensive prices. This was the greatest.... his response was "its ok man, I got too may customers as it is, nobody gonna miss you". NICE! So again expensive, poor quality, bad system, horrible service all with an extra slice of attitude!!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS
