OMG, where do I start!? I've used them prior to this with no issue but I WILL NEVER BE BACK THERE. COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. I called them to repair the small glass piece on the back of my iPhone 5s. My friend dropped it with the case on and it had a tiny fracture on the glass, but the phone was brand new, so she paid me to have it fixed. They said it would cost $55, but they had to order the glass piece so it would take two weeks to receive it. I waited two weeks and brought my phone in. They said it would take about an hour. I came back and great! Only to get home and find the phone won't charge, so I called them. They said to bring it back as they "forgot" to plug something in and to just bring it back. I live an hour away. So I drive it back, only to find their tech was gone for the day, so I have to leave my phone. They could have told me this. So I leave my phone over night and they completed it the next am. OH there's more... Then a few days later I realize the flash isn't working from their repair. So again I call them and they said to bring it in again as they have a 30 day warranty. Before I could bring it back for them to fix their mistake the phone started over heating and died. I took it to apple and they said it wasn't my phone per the MEID on the back plate of the 5s. ?????? SAY WHAAAT? Totally confused I showed apple the orig receipt for my phone only a few months old. They said it was a different phone. So after 3 hours on the phone with apple and a two hour appt with genius bar at apple, we figured out that Pro-Camera repair, Pro-swapped the back plate of my phone instead of replacing the glass as they told me they were going to do. My thumbprint ID still worked, so apparently they only swapped the back part. So since the phone wasn't supposed to be opened by anyone except apple. I'm out a $500 phone, 6 hours of drive time and gas to Pro-fuck up and 15 days of my life I'll never get back. Then when I take it back to ProCamera repair the tech comes out to tell me he did have my original back plate and gives it back to me. But he won't work on the phone since "someone" opened it and removed 3 pieces. Yeah that was him. He gave me the phone back, and my original back piece to the iPhone 5s. He told me to have the IT guy at my work fix it, which we have. He asked me to return the "extra" back plate. (OK right, that would be my 6th trip in there from an hour away.) UNFUKINGBELEIVABLE I will never have anyone touch my phone again except apple. Too bad I can't post pics on here.. The shutter stopped working on my Nikon Coolpix camera and I contacted Nikon about the matter (it was out of warranty). Nikon would fix it but in order to get a Nikon factory repair they require you mail it (insured) to Redondo Beach and I felt uncomfortable mailing my camera. I called the place we bought the camera (Dale's) and they recommended Professional Photographic Repair. They were prompt, straightforward, provided a warranty on the repair, and we were very happy with our service, I would go there again. read more

My flash wasn't working on my Canon SD850 IS so i took it in for an estimate. Being the tech nerd that i am, I did a lot of research on my problem before taking it in. Before I came here I got an estimate on at another popular repair shop in San Diego but i was taken back by a lazy employee and poor customer service so i went elsewhere. Pro Photo Repair fixed my camera in less than 2 business days (the other place promised 2 weeks!). They had to replace the little flash unit inside which was a little pricey but I thought it was worth the hassle and time I was If i was going to buy another $200+ camera. *Note: Repairs times may vary depending on your camera and problem. They guaranteed their work for 45 days. It's been around 4+ months and the camera is still going strong! The employees and staff were very helpful and professional. Thumbs up for me! read more

I was actually afraid to take my lenses here to get fixed up after seeing all the negative reviews. I actually found this store after seeing parts that I was looking for on eBay. I thought I'd order them and replace them myself, but after one look at the tiny screws that needed to be taken out and put back in, I said "Forget that!" So, seeing that PPR was not too far from me, about 90 miles, I e-mailed them to see how much it would cost for them to do it. I was quoted a fairly reasonable price and they said they could do it same day and would need an hour or two. I made the trek down to SD for the repairs. I brought along my e-mail correspondences for an easy transaction. It didn't take the hour or two to fix them. Much like taking a car in to get serviced, it actually took several hours. Nonetheless, the cost was around $240, which was actually quite good because I took one of the lenses to Nikon several years ago and they were going to charge $200 for it. Take in mind that my gear is not consumer grade equipment, not the average Joe stuff that people brought in in previous reviews. So, maybe I got better treatment or those people just don't..... well, let's just leave it at that. I'm satisfied with my experience. I was looking for a cameras shops in San Diego to do a few repairs for my film cameras. I could always do it myself but always have the fear screwing up and trashing a camera. My friend recommeded this place that he found when he needed someone to fix his dropped dslr. I found all these mixed reviews and was skeptic at first, but after seeing their worksmanship, i knew that those reviews didnt really matter. First Occurance: I took my Canonet ql17 giii camera here to get a new front lens. After a few exchanges through email, I knew that they could help my out. The front element on my camera was not going back in. I dropped it off and only asked for the front element. I got back the next day to pick it up. It was as good as new. No sticky shutter and not only was there a new front element, they replaced everything that I removed. Fast turn around time and awesome service. Second Occurance: The shutter on my Mamiya c220 lens (80mm f2.8) started to stick. I took it in for a cleaning. The lady at the front told me that she will have a tech look at get back to me within two days. i get a call back the next day with a few other thing that I have over looked. They estimated 2 weeks to get the lens CLA'd, get new light seals, and film door to be fixed. I got it back in two weeks and the camera was in prestine condition. The snappiest/sexiest shutter sound I have heard from the camera in a while. The technician even came out to hand me my camera. He also explained to me what was fixed. Very professional work done here. Third Occurance: They sell film cameras here. I found a Yashica Mat124G in great condition. I ended up buying it. It awesome since they actually check the camera BEFORE they let it leave the shop, AT NO CHARGE. The prices are really reasonable. So if you are into film cameras, need a film camera for class, or just collect, this place may have a camera for you. You have to come in though, I dont think they post their camera inventory online. Bottom Line: The lady at the front is awesome and the technicians know what they are doing. i also spoke to Don a few time on the phone, really polite guy, extreamely helpful, and ensured that all my gear is being taken care of. read more

This shop just won me over. As a filmmaker, I'm incredibly picky about the kind of repair shop I go to. My DSLRs are my babies and I would do whatever it takes to keep them up. The folks at Pro Camera Repair just wow-ed the crap out of me with their years of knowledge and experience in this field. I honestly was not expecting such spot-on assistance! I didn't even have to spell everything out for the owner. He took a look at my Nikon D40 and knew EXACTLY what I had come for. The service was quick; the price was low and I even picked up a few accessories from their incredibly wide selection. The way I see it, it's far better to buy local and pay the sales tax instead of online. I'd much rather speak directly to another human being that understands what it's like to take pride in your work and your work's equipment. The owner is a thief. Do not buy anything from here. The owner helped my husband pick out a lens for my camera. It made everything blurry/foggy. When it was returned 3 days later the owner would not take it back. He told my husband that it was his own fault for being "STUPID" enough to buy it. This is a tough review to write. Possibly the worst experience I've ever had with any business. Don't even consider doing business with this place. You have been warned. I brought in a couple of production monitors for calibration. They worked fine but the color was off. I was quoted $80-90 each and 2-3 days turnaround. The turnaround time was important to me because these monitors are used regularly at the studio I work for. After a few days I called in to get an ETA and spoke to Kelly (who I think is the owner). Kelly said he didn't know when they would be done because he was waiting on a part. I asked for an ETA on the part and he became very belligerent. He shouted (literally shouted) they will be done when they are done and he'll call me. I explained I need at least an estimate on the time for my boss so we can change our production schedule. This infuriated Kelly who yelled at me some more and said to come get my monitors right away or he'll throw them in the trash. I know that a rational person will read this and think that I must have done something to make him mad, but I didn't. He flew off the handle for no reason at all. He hung up on me after that. I was just leaving to go pick them up and he called back. He apologized for losing his temper and said the monitors would be ready in two days. My gut told me I should just go get them anyways and take them someplace else but at this point time was short so I decided to follow through with Kelly. My mistake. I got the call two days later to pick up the monitors. The bill was $245 each. Ouch, quite a bit over the estimate but it happens. I brought them back to the studio and hooked them up and they hadn't been fixed, not even a little better. So I packed them back up and returned them to Kelly. It took another two weeks before they were done. The color is now calibrated correctly however now there is an intermittent glitch on the screen. Close enough, time to cut my losses and learn my lesson. I feel fortunate that Kelly didn't try to charge me any more for the second visit. Bottom line is that the guy does shoddy work, he's crazy, ill-tempered, and doesn't care one bit about his customers. I wish I had checked Yelp before going there. ***IPad Repair*** Dropped off my IPad for repair and received quick service, it was repaired the same day. My IPad had a cracked screen on one of the corners from being dropped in a case and it was successfully repaired, or so I thought. Five days after the initial repair I notice the cracked screen on the same corner that was previously repaired and I took it back to the store as they have a "30 day warranty". I was advised that the IPad "looked" like it was dropped and that it was not covered in the warranty. I was referred to the manager who was not present. The following day I went back and spoke to the manager, I explained that to no fault of my own the screen had cracked in the same spot as the original repair. I suggested the possibility of craftsmanship issue with the initial repair. Manager refused to fix the IPad nor did he offer a refund. Basically I was told the second crack is my fault and that they had no reasonability to repair it under "warranty". The only compromised offered was to repair the IPad again for the cost of the part, which I feel is not fair nor acceptable. I tried to compromise and ask for the difference between the price of the original repair and the cost of the part (screen) and was denied. Terms of repair or "warranty" states that "PRO CAMERA REPAIR, INC. obligation is limited to rework (same failure) only, provided the equipment is returned to us with a detailed failure description and transportation prepaid." In conclusion, they will "fix" your product and state a warranty, but will refuse the repair it if the original repair fails. I'm disappointed with the customer service and a formal complaint will be filed with the State of California. read more

I dropped off my camera to this store on May 30th, 2008. Today is May 2nd, 2009 and still no camera. Like many of the other comments left here, I called repeatedly and was promised calls back which I never received. I finally got Kelly (the manager) on the phone two weeks ago and he said he would investigate and call back the next day.Of course...never got that call. Left one more message last week with no reply. I have called roughly 15 times in the last year. Went into the shop today and spoke face to face with Kelly. With a smug look, Kelly told me that the company title /ownership has changed and they were not responsible for my camera. He told me my camera had been sold a long time ago. He then asked me if I had an attorney. Luckily I do. I will pursue this just because I was treated so poorly. I will be calling BBB and working with my attorney. Hopefully, something will happen and Kelly will learn something about ethics and business. The new name is Pro Photo Repair. I had to keep calling in to see when they would finally be done!!! Don't buy anything from them online. Period. I was looking foward to recieveing rare camera part on Thursday/Friday. This part is really really hard to find and on their ebay listing, it states "More than 10 available." On the following Monday, after coutless calls, I was unable to reach them. On tuesday, I see an email "Your item has been refunded." ........... When I finally did get through to them, I come to find out that the item is "OUT OF STOCK" Are you serious? The only reason I'm even giving them one star, is that I did finally get the item I ordered. On January 27th, I ordered a replacement LCD for a Canon SX110 camera. These guys came up at the top of my search, and their webpage said they had the item in stock for $20 plus First Class postage. Seemed like a fair deal, so I paid them through PayPal and awaited the shipping notice they said I would get. Which never came. On Feb 3, I sent an message through their web page, asking when the item would be shipped, since it was "in stock", and for the tracking number. No response. On Feb 15th (two weeks after I placed the order for an in-stock item), I received a short email apologizing and telling me that they would ship ANOTHER item, along with a second email giving me a USPS tracking number. Which, I thought, was fine...except the tracking number said "waiting for shipment" whenever I checked it. So, on 2/19, I sent another query, mentioning that the tracking number was still showing nothing had been shipped. No reply. On 2/23, I lost patience, through their web page, I again mentioned the (still dormant) tracking number and asked for a refund. No reply. I contacted them again through their web page on 2/24, again requesting a refund, and noticed something very strange. On their website, a different tracking number had been attached to my order, with a ship date of 2/23. This tracking number appeared to have a package attached to it. I received no notification email, just happened to check the order on the website and noticed it had a different tracking number. Sure enough, today February 27th, almost exactly a month after I placed my order for a $20, in-stock part, it arrived. Well packaged, except for the lack of an anti-static envelope for the electronic part, but at this point, I'm glad to have received anything. Since I did actually receive something, I'm loath to ascribe to malice, something that can be explained by incompetence, overwork or under-staffing. However, I think I can assure you that I will not be doing business with Pro Camera Repair again. read more

Ordered a part that I needed ASAP, and it is something that was very difficult to find. It was IN STOCK on the website, and the site also said orders would ship out same day or next day. Three days after I'd ordered it I called, because I had still not received tracking information. They gave no apologies, just said that the part is not in stock, and she'd have to ask someone else about getting it ordered when they were in the following business day. I let her know that the website said the item was in stock, and she said, 'oh yeah, he hasn't changed that'.....okay. Said she'll call back next business day (a Monday) I never got a call back. The same day I called, I also got online and contacted the company through their website. They wrote me back on Monday, saying they would need to wait until TUESDAY, because the person to ask wouldn't be in until then. They never contacted me back. I finally called and canceled a few days after that. They didn't ask any questions. I let them know again that the website still said the item was IN STOCK. After calling I also wrote through the website again, because the person on the phone didn't give me any indication of when it would be canceled or when I would be refunded. I let them know I wanted to cancel and that I needed to know when I would be refunded and needed documentation for my accounting department. I was able to purchase the part elsewhere, but it was rare enough that I could only find it from these two places. Their website still says this item is IN STOCK. It can't be that difficult to change that. I was told it would take 3-5 business days to refund me (a simple paypal refund, I do them every day, they take 3 minutes tops for a simple order cancellation), it took them over a week to process it. My guess is that they wouldn't have ever contacted me about the item needing ordered, and would have kept my money if I hadn't reached out. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE! The DVD door on my 5 year old Sony Camcorder wouldn't eject. So, I called Prof. Photographic Repair last Saturday morning. I asked if a techninican was in to look at my camcorder and to try to get the mini-DVD out. I was told a tech was in. So, I drove over there (store is 25 minutes each way from my house). The tech stayed in the backroom area and didn't come forward to the reception area to assist me at all. Instead, he relied on a receptionist, Giselle, to translate for us back and forth. Ultimately, I was told that he would have to manually take apart the camcorder to get the door open to remove my DVD. This would cost $55.00. If I wanted him to tell me what's wrong with the camcorder, that would be an additional $35.00 charge. I decided to just cut my losses and get the DVD out and invest in a new camcorder since this one was 5 years old anyway and most new camcorders have a hard drive and I wouldn't have to deal with DVD's anymore. He told Giselle it would be ready that Monday for me to pick up. I work M-F so the earliest I could get over there was the following Saturday. When I arrived, it was a different receptionist and nobody else was in the store. When I told her I was there to pick up my camcorder, she told me she couldn't find it and it wasn't on the "ready shelf" and that it probably hadn't been worked on. At this point, I got upset and told her she needed to find my camcorder and call the owner if need be. She finally got ahold of somebody and they told her where to find my camcorder and guess what? It hadn't been touched! What a waste of my time and gas!! read more

Let me begin by first stating that I rarely give any one a five-star rating; I feel it has to be earned and, boy, is this place surely worthy of it! I initially called Kurt's Camera Repair and spoke with the owner, Mike, by chance. I explained I have a Canon Rebel XTi camera and that my Mom had pushed the CF card too far into the slot and bent a couple of pins. Mike told me that this happens all the time (even he had done it) and that it was an easy repair. This was music to my ears, so my husband and I drove over to Kurt's where we met Eva at the front counter. Eva was friendly enough and took our camera back into the abyss. She returned a couple of minutes later and said it would cost over $230.00 to fix my camera with one to two week estimate. What?! I let her know about my conversation with Mike earlier, but to no avail. I don't know who looked at our camera, but it would have been nice to actually meet and talk with that person as well. Guess we weren't worthy enough ?! So, disheartened with Kurt's, we took our camera over to Ritz. The girl there took a look and said the same thing as Mike: easy fix! Matter of fact, she even referred us over to Kurt's (since Ritz's process takes four to six weeks) and said it would probably only cost about $60.00 to fix. I laughed out loud at that and told her of our incident at Kurt's. She was truly surprised and said, "That's really weird!" At this point, we just wanted to go home as the entire experience left us frustrated and I couldn't get the conversation with Mike out of my head. The next morning I called Kurt's again and asked to speak with Mike, but he wasn't in so I spoke with Cliff. I explained everything to him and he finally agreed to negotiate the price down to about $180.00, with the stipulation of "if nothing else is wrong with the camera". Cliff was very helpful and patient, so kudos to him for that piece. Still unsatisfied, we decided to give Professional Photographic Repair a chance and took the camera over to them on a Saturday (I had found PPR in researching camera repair shops in addition to Kurt's). To our amazement, they too said this was an easy repair; however, the climax here is that the price they quoted was $89.99!!!! Exactly half of what I had to "barter" for at Kurt's. My husband left the camera with PPR and on Monday, a mere business-day later, they called to let him know the camera was ready. Is that fantastic turn-around-time or what?! I know what you must be thinking - that they didn't replace the pins and simply "repaired" them...but I did question this and they confirmed for me, and even wrote on my receipt, that the whole piece was in fact REPLACED and has a 90-day warranty. With all of this being said, you can bet that we are thrilled to have found this business...they definitely are PRO's in our book, no doubt about it. Their service was super fast and the people are friendly and more important, extremely helpful (and they don't push sales on you at all). As if that's not enough, I had just purchased a battery grip for the camera and Don installed it for free. Let me just say this, if you have the pleasure of doing business with this company, ask for Don. You will not be disappointed! He's a magician with a camera - very knowledgable and clever, yet down to earth and able to explain things in layman's terms. In closing, I should let you know that I have never written a review this long but I feel it is well-deserved. I can't say enough about this place and if my review changes your mind from going anywhere else, then my time and effort are worth it (and I hope this helps save you some money!). In speaking with Don, they're under new management so what the heck...give them a shot and support a local company. P.S. Basically, the guy told me that the shutter is broken, they cannot fix it, the whole shutter had to be replaced, and to send it to Casio to get it fixed. Then, I went to Professional Photographic Repair. They were able to fix my camera, it didn't need any parts, and they were done in a couple of days!! Staff was very friendly. I Dropped my Canon 580EXII strobelight while covering the trophy shots for a car show I volunteer at on Thursday nights and needed a flash for a charity event I was scheduled for the following Saturday morning. Assuming it was the bulb in the flash which I broke dropping the unit, poured over Craigslist and Ebay to see what I could find out in regard to repairing it. I came across Professional Photographic Repair's listings at Ebay and came to the conclusion that it probably wasn't a project I wanted to attempt alone. Seeing that these guys were in my same town gave them a call and although the girl that answered the phone didn't give me a lot of confidence that they could fix the strobe that same day, Friday, in time for my show early Saturday morning, decided it was worth a shot to see what they could do. I wasn't able to make it to the shop until almost 2:30 in the afternoon, but the young lady at the counter took my strobe to the technician in the back and came back to me shortly with the bad news that a rough estimate to repair would be between $135 and $235. That was a lot more than I expected and I really couldn't afford to have it fixed at the time, so sent the girl back into the shop to retrieve the strobe back. The technician came back out with her, strobe in hand and kindly explained to me the issue with the repairs and why the difference in the estimate. He also assured me that he would give it an honest effort to have it done before the 5:30 closing time if I left it there. I really couldn't afford it, but was in a pickle needing it for the morning so I prayed that they could fix it for the $135 and went ahead to let them have at it. After rounding up the money, I made it back to the shop just in time. Just as the tech had promised, the strobe was repaired and for the $135 that they had quoted as the bottom estimate. The tech came back out and esplained to me what he had done and that I was lucky breaking the bulb, but not having the pieces getting into the rest of the components of the unit which he said happens too much of the time making for a much more labor intensive job. My story is a bit long, but I so appreciated the totally professional way that I was treated and promised them that I would leave a review which makes more sense if the complete story is told. Other than my hating to have to put out such a big chunk of cash, it was wonderfully refreshing to be treated so kindly and have a company make special accomodations for someone coming in that late on a Friday afternoon. It's nice to know that there are businesses out there that put their customers and clients first the same as I do in my business. Had a broken LCD on a point and shoot camera. I attempted to fix it myself with a part I purchased on eBay, but got in over my head. Took it to Pro Camera Repair and explained the situation. I was not sure if I had damaged to new part during my repair attempt. They took a look at it and repaired it with my part in about an hour. (Another shop told me they wouldn't fix it unless they used the part they supplied.) I was only charged $50 labor. Sure it was an easy fix for them but it was a reasonable price considering the options. I can't evaluate their work on more complex repairs, but what they did for me was professional and very reasonably priced. read more

I took my camera to have the flash repaired in May. Over $100 and 4 weeks later, the camera was fixed. I used the camera a few times and it worked fine but this Christmas, the flash is broken again. I called Pro Camera and they basically told me I was out of luck. I don't know if this is due to poor parts or workmanship but in any case, no love for me. I wouldn't use them again. Especially seeing the poor overall rating on Yelp now. Buyer beware. read more

I got great cross-country service from Pro. I cracked the LCD screen on my camera. My local shop said it would be $130 just to look at it and possibly more depending on the diagnosis. And it would be several weeks. I was anxious about sending my camera to the other coast for a simple repair. Some of the more hysterical Yelp reviews gave me pause. However, I got a prompt and personal quote by email and the amount was far less than my local shop. Pro was also responsive to a follow up question and I decided to go for it. Pro emailed me immediately when they received the camera and when it was ready and each email was signed by the particular staff member. These people are crooks. We took a camera in for repairs, they quoted $40 and 1 week to repair. This was a good price and good timing since we were going to Africa in 2 weeks. They didn't have the part in 1 week later. Still nothing 2 weeks later. They offered us a shoddy loaner camera that had no memory card and no battery charger. We declined and instead purchased a new camera from Amazon for our trip. After we got back we received a call notifying us that the camera was ready for pickup (4 weeks after dropping it off). At the store they said the cost was now $80. So the cost ended up being twice the estimate and a repair time of 4 weeks instead of 1. We had to just leave the camera with them because the payment was not worth the camera since we had already bought a replacement camera. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANYTHING. They are completely incompetent at best, borderline criminal. read more

Zero stars! Don't get ripped off like I did! I took my Canon camera to this place, I wish I would have read yelp reviews before hand. So I dropped my camera off to them first week of Aug 2009. They called me right away saying that it was going to cost me $165 to fix the problem. So i thought, "yeah that's fine since the camera cost me more; that way I don't have to purchase another expensive camera." They had my camera ready in 2 days. I seriously thought "wow that was fast, how convinient!" So I picked up my camera first thing in the morning. I turned it on and snapped some (non-flash) pictures, seemed to be back to working condition so I was happy. That night, I went out for a friends bday dinner and sadly my camera's flash was not working. I called the PPR shop first thing in the morning, spoke to Tanya who told me to bring in the camera and assured me not to worry because everything is covered under a 90 day warranty. So I dropped off my camera once again. Its now mid Oct 2009 and they still have my non-working camera that they can't seem to fix. This whole time I haven't received any calls from them, I've called them constantly, and apparently they had to order a new flash for my camera that is on back order. Seriously "How many cameras out there need a new canon flash?" Canon is huge! I called and spoke to Tanya and she said, they received the flash and that it was going to cost me $45 for the repair, oh and the only problem now is that they are behind on work and it will take maybe another week before they start repairing my camera. Shouldn't I be priority at this point?! And I thought the $165 was to fix my camera in the first place, and what about the 90 day warranty that comes w/ the repairs. Apparently they don't honor their own warranty's they promise. So she asked if I wanted them to fix the problem, obviously right! after so long! Ok so I had my boyfriend call at the end of the week, and spoke to the owner of the company who said, that everything was under control the only thing now is that my camera apparently needs another piece that is also on back order. wtf!!!? are you serious?! shouldn't they know what a camera needs if they are professionals?! He assured my boyfriend that he would take care of everything for us and he was very sorry, but hey buddy sorry does not fix my camera and your lousy service! I would have rather have him be honest and say "Hey sorry I'm not able to fix your camera and here's your money back." I am giving them until Monday and I hope they have my camera ready, if not I'm asking for my money back and going elsewhere; something I should have done since the beginning! Seriously they make my camera sound like if it got ran over by a truck! I accidentally dropped it while in line at Disneyland. I could write a small novel about my grievances with Pro Camera Repair, but for the sake of readability, your attention and my sanity I'll keep it short and sweet. I contacted Pro Camera Repair regarding the IR conversion of an Olympus EPL-2 earlier this year; they said they could do it. A student living in Australia, I saved up, purchased an EPL-2 in the USA and got the camera sent directly to their facility in San Diego. They received the camera in early April and said the conversion would take a fortnight. Two weeks later, no contact, nothing. A month later, I ask for an update and they state that they needed 'more time to calibrate focus'. Little did I know that this would be the beginning of a never-ending saga... Another month later (July) Pro Camera Repair contacted me stating that they were 'unable to perform the conversion'. Disappointed it had taken this long, but glad my new camera was still in one piece, I requested for it sent to me. They said they would reassemble and have it in the mail one week later. Fast forward to October and many international phone calls later, and the EPL-2 is apparently still awaiting assembly. I'm starting to think that it was broken during conversion and they are leading me on until I give up. Or maybe they are just terribly disorganised and have no consideration for others time, money and possessions. I originally went with Pro Camera Repair because they were the cheapest. This has really bitten me in the backside. I may never receive the $500+ camera I saved up and paid for, and if I do, heaven knows whether it'll work properly or not. As I'm in Australia there is little I can do but keep asking for my camera back. At the very least, I hope other people will think again before using Pro Camera Repair in San Diego. They do not deserve our custom. read more

Ordered a part from them online, the part was shown as in-stock, but as it turns out they didn't have one to ship, so I had to wait. When they did finally ship they left out part of the address, so it went to the wrong place. Not a lot attention to detail if you ask me, I would not recommend letting them fix anything. read more

Absolutely the WORST choice ever made!!. I had my girlfriend take her iphone in for a cracked screen and this is what we paid for( Please keep in mind, everything was working properly minus the screen not showing anything besides scrambled lines).. Phone was no longer charging and the home button was not working,. The tech had NOOO idea what he did, and could not remember if he could charge the phone. The girl working up front had to remind him he did charge it. 3 days of issues with this company. I will make sure I post this to every social media outlet and I am also filing a claim with the BBB. If you are reading this, please do not waste your money and time. Also hearing a technician use the phrase " I don't know" numerous times to explain his actions, logic and overall ability to fix what should have been a easy fix, is unacceptable. They claim the phone was tampered with, RIGGGGHT. Tell that to Sprint and see if Apple will take that BS as an acceptable answer. DO NOT get a camera repair here. I had a terrible experience. Took my Nikon DSLR to their shop to get a new power unit, they quoted me $155 (a bit steep), but I said to go ahead and do the repair. They told me they had to order the part but the camera would be ready in 7 days. Over a week later, I hadn't heard from them. I called them for an update and they said they are still waiting for the part. The next week (on a Wednesday), I called them again and they again told me they were waiting on the part. I said I was leaving for a trip on Friday, and they said the part would be there by then and it would be finished by that afternoon. Never heard from them, so I called them when I got back from my trip on Monday afternoon and asked to cancel the repair all together. They told me this was not possible as the part had come and the technician was currently working on the camera. I asked to speak to the technician, and the woman said the technician actually had left for the day. She called me the next morning and said the part actually had not come, and that my camera was ready to be picked up as is. The next day, I got to their shop at 6:07pm (their hours on Yelp say they close at 6:30pm) and there was a sign on the door saying they were closed. I returned the next day in the morning to pick up my camera, and my battery was missing. The woman had to go back and search for my battery. So after a month of waiting, my camera is still not fixed. They lied about the part being in their shop and also have inaccurate information on their Yelp page. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy business. I recommend George's in Mira Mesa. read more

I work for the repairs department for a camera store in Torrance, CA and a while back, we were looking for a company to do business with because the facilities we were using were doing pretty crappy work. Plus some of our repairs went missing at these other companies and, as you could imagine, posed a slight inconvenience. So as I am calling up different companies, I have this worry that whichever company I use will fall into this unacceptable trend of taking too long and losing our customer's cameras. Then one day, somebody told me about Pro Camera Repair. I looked them up, and from what I saw, they looked pretty legit. So I gave them a call. That was about 6 or 7 months ago and so far, I am still overly satisfied with the quality of work and little time it takes to have items repaired. I have to thank Tay and Rachel for their professionalism and eagerness to fulfill not only the standards of satisfaction of my company, but the satisfaction of my company's customers as well. I took my camera in to be repaired over a month ago - it is still not fixed and even though they called me and told me it was ready when I went in to pick it up I was informed that it was in peices and had not been repaired yet - Iasked to speak to the owner and when he came out he told me that next time I should send it to Nikon or go to LA he did not even want to discuss how the service could be improved or offer any type of verbal acknowledgment that the service he provides is less than satisfactory. read more
