First let me say I do not lift weights; body build nor am I a client who is working on their appearance. I need it for a medical situation. I thought that this type of place only existed for people who were body builders. This was my own ignorance. To keep things brief-I had multiple unexpected intestinal surgeries, and had my world turned upside down within the last 3 years. I cannot absorb 100% of the items I consume into my body. For the most part I do not have dairy, any type of animal meat if it is not shredded, no beef at all and no green vegetables. What I did not understand, and most people do not know that without protein of some sort, your body does not have energy to function let alone enough oxygen to go to your brain to even think-no joke. A nutritionist helped to find a solution to my absorption issues. She said very specifically I needed an "egg white protein mix" as it is easier on the digestive system overall. It needed to be high amounts of protein; low amounts of fluid and I needed a minimum of 100 grams daily-as no one knows how much I truly take in. So where do I go to find this item, I go to the Internet. I know nothing of anything to do within this field-I tried looking online, reached out to all health shops I found on Google-calling was a nightmare as I wasn't exactly sure what I needed to ask and was beyond frustrated and feeling very incompetent as I could not explain what I was looking for as I was not sure what it was. I just had the criteria. I also hated that some places I went to in person that I was constantly up-sold the entire visit and would question if it was what I truly needed or not. My protein powder is not covered by my insurance and is totally out of pocket. On my list was Pro Body Warehouse, whose website had a chat feature and then from the first communication everything changed for me. I had to be very honest about my overall health along with that I was still undergoing surgeries when I first reached out. This is when I first came to meet the owner, Rob. For the last 2 1/2 years he has been the one constant factor in my own personal care besides my doctors. I have never had a chat with him where he could not help me, give me options, where I am long winded like this review, or help me to figure out a solution or even an alternative back up plan. He even had samples brought in once to see if I could tolerate different items. What flavor I do normally buy is not bought in large quantities, but he has it when I need it. I also know that when I have traveled and have run out--I have had to buy it online from various sources and they all charge at least almost 50% more than Pro Body Warehouse does. That says something about the ethics and integrity of the owner and the company. I have ALWAYS, and I do mean ALWAYS received unbelievable customer service anytime I have reached out in various ways-whether to ask questions, go into my local location or sometimes I will be in a different area and stop into another store. Every employee, no matter what location, is not only very nice, but more so willing to help you find anything you need to help with whatever it is you are asking, whether it has been for myself or for family/friends who I constantly tell about Pro Body Warehouse. read more

This is my go to place for everything related to the gym and workout supplementation. They have everything from proteins to bcaa to creatine to multi vitamins and everything else in between. The prices are better than anywhere else I've ever seen or gone to including amazon. There's always someone there to greet you with a smile and offer to help you with any questions or concerns. I highly recommend this place to everyone I come in contact with . Their selection is huge and there's always some deal going on especially during the weekend. In my last visit I purchased some high quality bcaa for 13$ which is unreal. You won't be disappointed. Best place hands down read more

The staff here is always on point with helping me align my nutrition and workout goals. Today Efrin and Miguel assisted my husband and I with finding the perfect preworkout for our individual bodies and concerns. It's really nice that we never feel like any of the staff is trying to pressure us to buy anything. It strictly always feels more informative and friendly than like a business transaction like your typical supplement shop. If you sign up your number for your purchases, you will also get the weekly deals sent to you in advance. To my fellow lifters, cross fitters, cardio nerds, bodybuilders, make this shop your number one stop for supplements. You won't be sorry! read more

The staff are really helpful and knowledgeable and once you sign up for the text messages you can wait for deals on the weekends. Total war is 50% off this weekend! Oh man, I love this place! I just found high protein pancake mix!! And it was just $12.95! I bought some zero calorie pancake syrup up in here too!! Like, what have I been doing with my life?! I have to mention, I found the best vegan protein powder too and trust me, I've tried plenty. I had to return the last vegan protein by Optimum Nutrition, bleh, tasted like picking up a handful of chalk and stuffing them in your mouth. You're probably wondering why I'm getting the vegan option rather whey, (or not,) but if you think about how we get our nutrition, we get it from animals, that eat other animals, that eat other animals that finally eat plants, where we finally get our nutrition. Protein is good for us too, but isn't the source of protein also important?! Protein from tuna, is much better than protein from red meat. So I'm not a rocket scientist, but it would make sense to me that vegan protein would be better based on that logic. That is also solely my opinion, I'm obviously not an incredible hulk, my shirt doesn't disintegrate when I flex my chest yet. Anyway, I do love the experts that work at this place. They have to be bodybuilders, and they actually have tried most of the supplements. The sales reps between GNC and Pro Body Warehouse is night and day. At GNC if you ask them if they've tried some supplement, they'll look you dead in your ocular stems, to the depths of your soul, and say - "YES!" "Yes - I have taken it." Especially when you're in the mental focus and clarity section, they'll say, "YES - it works. I TAKE THIS ONE". You know how many different bottles I've tried because they looked me dead in the eye, saying, "Yes John - so good!!" I can't trust anyone there!! Anyway, I love the selection here. Wide array, definitely won't find stuff here at the GNC. Love the staff, I could have a conversation with them for hours. They're super friendly, just an overall awesome place for your supplements and people who are serious about being fit. read more

I always get excited when my products are almost running out, as it gives me a chance to visit again, talk to the nice people working there, and get a little advice or try something new based on their recommendations. It's a plus that it's close to my house. However, I was totally disappointed with the service last Friday night. The staff member was on his computer the entire time, providing cold service with an unfriendly demeanor. I didn't bother to ask him anything and just bought items from my previous purchases before leaving. A friend of mine, who I recommended the store to, went the next day and raved about the excellent service she received from an Asian girl and another friendly gentleman. I wish I had gone with her so I could have asked some questions regarding my nutrition. read more

This place is great! I used to go to another supplement shop in Parkway Plaza before I found this place. I used to DREAD going to this other unnamed supplement shop in Parkway Place because they would never let me buy something without a 10 minute sales pitch. Pro Body is definitely my go-to for fitness supps! They are the best prices I've found in san diego and have an amazing variety of online products that you normally would not want to pay shipping for. Not only that, they are much cheaper than the companies themselves! Location: I have had nothing but great experiences at this location. Their inventory is definitely not as huge as the convoy location but still have a great selection! In addition, if you did want something that the other store had, they were more than willing to bring it over and have it ready for pick up within a day or two. The guys that I have encountered here always greet me upon my arrival and always ask if they can help in any way. I think what stands out about Pro Body compared to other places is that they diligently find alternatives for you if the product you want is not in stock or you're just open to other suggestions. They do this by looking at the ingredients in the product your looking for(they'll look it up online and everything for you) and find something with the same ratios and ingredients. No other store has ever done that for me. For example, GNC will just direct you to their branded items because they get commission. Other places such as Nutrimart are not bad but also not as diligent as Pro Body. They'll recommend other products but do they really know if its comparable to what you were looking for? I don't know and for that reason Pro Body is my go to! The only slightly negative experience I had was on the phone. It was on Jul 13 around 1ish and the guy on the phone was not friendly and had short answers. It took forever for him to answer and I asked him if something was in stock and he quickly said no (seeming like he didn't bother to check) and that was it. Other than that though, they are informative, friendly, and I will be back at Pro Body soon! read more

Had a great experience here I had to write in! First things first, the staff is so helpful and knowledgeable and so honest about products and the needs you're looking for! Manny was able to help us decide which protein we should get and kept us informed about what products are best and fake. We appreciated every bit of info! The prices here you can't beat!! It blows my mind how great of a price everything was, I wanted to buy the whole store! Haha! Cheaper than anything found online/amazon or other stores! read more

Hands down the best supplement place in San Diego. The prices are great, tons of product and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. My husband and I have been coming here for a couple years and we keep coming back because the prices are reasonable and the customer service is great. Rob the owner is very knowledgeable and is more than happy to share advice on workout regimens or suggest products in the store to tailor it specific to you and enhance your productivity in weight loss or to maintain your current state. The store is conveniently located and directly across from 24 hour fitness so you can walk across the street after your workout and pick up your necessities! read more

By far my favorite supplement store to go to. Always got best prices, and the guys that work there actually know what they're talking about and don't just BS you for a quick sale. Walked in, the lone employee is talking to the sole other customer. Wanted a very basic supplement any health store would have, but since I'd never been there, I didnt know where to look. Stood in line at counter behind other customer, who didn't seem to be making a purchase. Employee did not greet me, say anything to me, look at me, or acknowledge my presence in any way. Wasn't bothered, after all, the other guy WAS there first. However, their chat continued for several minutes, and the whole time the employee didn't look my way once. I listened to them chat at length about which supplements should be taken on empty stomach, which are better for joints, etc. Finally, I left to look for myself. Its a tiny store, so looking took much less time than waiting for assistance. Couldn't find it, so headed back to the front of the store. Again ignored as I left. Thanks, PBW, for inspiring my first review in SIX years! read more

I run a meal prep business and have been working with Pro Body Warehouse for about a year now. I can truly say how impressed I am with the staff and their knowledge, and how helpful they are to their customers. Your body and what u feed it is important. This is their 3rd location that opened up, and people in this area should be happy. This place has a great selection of supplements at amazing prices. I'm an online shopping person who finds the best deals anywhere, but this place has similar or lower prices. Ask for Naz when you get there. Guy is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to anything fitness related. Whether it's nutrition, working out, supplementation... he's your go-to. If you're unsure about using something for the first time or want to make sure you're taking the right stuff, double check with him and he can help you decide. If you haven't already, sign up for their text messages, every weekend they have deals that are sent straight to your phone! read more

It's a great supplement shop, and they'll usually match or beat any price that you can find. If they can't beat it, they'll usually tell you where to get it cheaper (I.e. 24 hour fitness across the street). The owner of this location is extremely friendly and always willing to answer questions. They offer a $10 discount for every $250 spent. Not a great discount, but its certainly reasonable considering the prices that they offer are extremely reasonable. I usually order my supplements from Bodybuilding.com...some are exclusively sold by that website. However, when I run out of protein, this is the place to go. Also, you can get 3 boxes of Quest bars for $60...not bad. read more
