The BOGO 50% off this weekend was great! I didn't need anything but I've been reading about different supplements. It was good to see it all. They have a lot of inventory and they had signs up when something was sold out. A few things were priced higher but the bogo made it comparable. Costco sells some of the items at a lower rate. They had a really good mix of ghost brand items. I picked up this Hawaiian punch c4 energy drink foR the first time and loved it! I can't have the whole can at once though. My whole body was tingly. We didn't need any assistance while shopping. I appreciate that the guy working immediately welcomed us, asked if we needed help, shared the special with us and left us alone. I love that! I'm not a shopper that wants conversation. There is construction going on to modernize the mall but the store is open! read more

Came here to renew some of my vitamins and saw they also had another supplement that I needed. The staff were more than helpful and were not pushy to sale a product or upsell an item. I like they gave a variety to choose from but I like the fact they have some top quality supplements and have special offers like buy one and get one 50%off sale select items. Today I just came for supplements but can definitely see myself back in the near future. This establishment is conveniently located not far from my house and makes it a breeze to restock up on my PURE- One Multivitamins and the magnesium glycinate for a fair price. The store spacious and well organized. Love this shop!! Give them a try if you're in the area. read more

I frequent this location, my partner received hospital care for one year. His holistic care was in my hands, so this was literally my happy place while he was in hospital across the street, great feedback on different brands. I shopped here and peoples in OB. Great results...he was tired, but bounced back! So ...supporting with supplements is top tierbig thanks to the knowledge of the staff! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at The Vitamin Shoppe. I purchased a protein bar, and when I opened it, I discovered it was moldy. I brought it back expecting an apology and a simple replacement, but instead I was told I would have to pay the price difference if I wanted a different bar. This was handled very unprofessionally. When a store sells expired or contaminated food, the focus should be on making things right for the customer--not asking them to spend more money. I understand prices may vary, but customer satisfaction and food safety should come first. I also think the staff should be more conscientious about checking the quality and expiration dates of the products on their shelves. Selling moldy food is unacceptable, and the way this situation was handled left me with little confidence in shopping here again. I hope management takes food quality and customer service more seriously in the future. read more

Ryan manager awesome and professional and very knowledgeable and very helpful and customer friendly keep up the great work thank you!!!

Fantastic service from Julian, gave amazing recommendations for us. Super energetic, great vibes and advice along with outstanding knowledge about everything this store provides. Overall 10/10 experience please give him a raise. Oh and he also has incredible hair. read more

Great selection of products and the lady that helped me out was very helpful with what I needed.

5 Stars for the Grossmont Center Vitamin Shoppe. I came in the other day for the first time to get some Creatine and HMB and found they have a nice stock of the other supplements I take as well. I prefer Muscle Tech products and they've got em all. The guy that helped me immediately knew where the handful of items I asked about were. He showed me where everything was so I didn't have to look around. It was a good experience and I'll be returning in the future. read more

The Vitamin Shoppe--where the lights are bright, awkwardly silent, and the employees look like they accidentally wandered in from the parking lot. Great place if you enjoy confusion, weird energy, stares and incompetency. 10/10 would recommend... if you're into that kind of thing. read more

I'm going to make this short and straightforward, I've spent hundreds of dollars here for years and they don't provide a welcoming environment and some of the workers are very incompetent. I have exchanged 2 items and I was refused for the 3rd one. Being a gold member and a frequent buyer their policy states you are eligible for a return/exchange within 30 days. I will give credit where credit is due so if you need help ask for Julian ONLY. Besides that Yolanda, Jesse, Ryan and the other workers are very unknowledgeable and unwelcoming. Avoid this location at all costs and if you ever have any issues with them contact corporate like I did. read more

I'm a frequent customer and always appreciate the help I receive from Heber and Yolanda. They are both hard-working. They make me feel valued every time I visit. They drop everything to assist me in finding my products. They have passion for what they do is evident. I recently met Julian, and he is great as well; he definitely knows his stuff. As a business owner, I understand how difficult it is to find exceptional service and strong work ethic! Real true GEMS! read more

I'm new to fitness and this was my first experience at a vitamin store in my entire life. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a young lady "Jesse"? I think? I had a general idea of the products I was looking for but not too knowledgeable since this was my first experience. Long story short, this young woman was amazing! She talked with me for over 20 minutes about what I was looking for and what I needed- she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She even showed me a couple features on my fitness ap I don't know about. I always say businesses run on competent employees. I was surprised to see negative customer service reviews on this place. Looks like magement made a new hire and did well. read more

This place is ok and has a decent selection of supplements and health and wellness products. The employees aren't pushy and don't try to sell you on one brand over the other. With that said, they're almost non-existent until you go to check out. There's a rewards program where you earn points for the dollars you spend and every so many points is money off. I should've had money off, but the lady working the last time I went in took my phone number and that was it. I'm not really sure how it works and it wasn't really explained other than you got a discount. I appreciate having this location close to me so I can stop in for my supplements. I also appreciate how the employees aren't pushy like other big chain supplement stores. They usually have discounts on some products if you look closely. Overall, I haven't had a bad experience, but I also haven't had any kind of over the top positive experience either. read more

Griffin and Joe gave me a world-class experience. They greeted me immediately as I walked in the door, making me feel welcome. They were very knowledgeable about their products, answering all of the questions I had. They demonstrated competence; the experience was seamless from start to finish, and they even held the door for me as I walked out. This visit exceeded my expectations. Thank you for your 5-star service. I know I made the right choice coming to this location, and I will definitely be back, thanks to them! read more

My sister and I went to this location hoping to find something to help with our journey in bettering ourselves. I had been here before a while ago and it wasn't the best experience... so unfortunately I wasn't looking too forward to it. I was happily proven wrong! Julian immediately came up to us when we walked in and asked us a few questions instead of just assuming things like I dealt with the last time I was there. He was able to give us information and products based off the questions he asked and gave reasons as to why some things would / wouldn't work. I will definitely be coming back many times in the future! Julian is absolutely fantastic at his job!! Again very happy to have given this place a second chance due to Julian! Thanks Julian you went above and beyond! read more

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. I'm all ways. Horrible customer service and horrible products. Even the manager is extremely rude to customers especially over the phone. The product I got gave me extreme side effects read more

I wish this place had friendlier stuff than it does. Their stuff is often very rude. Sad because I live close to this one and I like to go. But after today's visit, I probably will never go back, they have a good options. If you know what you're looking for and don't have to talk to staff then go here but if you have to talk to somebody, probably best, you don't ask questions. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Update your hours online if you aren't actually open until 9. I arrived at 8:35 for an ONLINE PICK UP ORDER THAT WAS READY TO GO. Door is locked, but there's 2 employees standing there at the register telling me there closed. You know the least you could do is open up the door and tell me instead of shooing me away. I wasn't trying to roam around the store and purchase anything, I was picking up an ONLINE ORDER that was already paid for. Again, if you aren't open until 9 then the business should have updated hours. Won't be shopping here again. read more

Came into The Vitamin Shoppe specifically looking for Lecithin granules to add as a supplement for brain food and to help lower cholesterol levels. They were having a sale on it. Rudy the manager came over and asked if we needed assistance. Yes, please, and thank you! He showed us were the product was but there was only one. Rudy advised us that we could purchase it now and the warehouse would ship the second one for free. We also talked about aromatherapy and essential oils. Rudy was very knowledgeable, friendly and most of all helpful. I also purchased some beautiful royal blue oil bottles with droppers to make my rosemary essential oils in. I had a wonderful experience at this store. Thank you Rudy for your excellent customer service and for being extremely efficient with your product knowledge. read more

After coming here a little more frequently, I found that staff is always very unhappy or not very willing to help. I find Alexis to be very rude and unwelcoming. She never wants to leave from behind the cash wrap and it's not like she wants to ring you up when she's behind there anyway. There has even been an occasion where she's snapped at me. I used to find Mervyn helpful but as of late he looks unhappy and doesn't seem to want to help. It's a shame because I'm sure he has some great knowledge about products. The only person who I like is the older lady and one other gentleman. Wish I remembered their names. I think I'm just going to frequent the new location in Clairemont. The employees there are very friendly and knowledgeable which is important when you're looking for new products mid training. The two stars are only for those two employees that I hope start to work more often. read more

Went in with the intent to buy whey protein for my business. I was greeted right away by one of the managers, Rob. He was very informative and helpful in working with me to find the best product for my customers. I picked up the vanilla optimum nutrition. I blended it in a strawberry smoothie and it was perfect. The flavor was just right to be evident but not overpower the strawberry. It does not hold that obvious protein flavor that so often robs a drink of its initial desirable flavor. Nutrition-wise it offers a lot. A good dose of whey protein without a ton of the additives. The product has all great reviews on their site. read more

Great store, great products, great prices and an awesome staff. Everyone I have ever spoken to in the store has been helpful and polite , some more than others, but all nice. Do not know what the other reviewer is talking about. All races of people shop and work in that store and I have never seen anyone treated differently due to race. If I am not shopping on-line this is the best store to go to! read more

I normally go to Sprouts, Whole Foods or farmers markets for my soaps, skincare or herbal supplements then when Sprouts stopped carrying my witch hazel I was on the hunt to find somewhere close by that carried it, so when I searched the internet and Vitamin Shoppe came up I was happy to see that it was also cheaper by .50 cents. The first time I came in they were out of the kind I was looking for so I decided to try another which I was ok with but not 100% happy about it, then when I had to re-up they had the one I was looking for in stock but only a couple bottles. Looks like maybe I have to get them when I see them so I don't have to settle on a different kind. Then a week ago I went in to see what they had for herbal remedies for colds, I hate colds during summer they are the worst!! To my suprise they had a decent selection, even the liquid mushroom comprehensive immune support i usually use which at Sprouts costs $35.99, here is was $30.99. One of the salesman on the floor helped me he was friendly, personable and very helpful! He suggested oregano oil, I have used it in the past but he recommended it in the gel capsules it is much easier to take than the liquid for sure. I highly suggest this product it helps cut the durations of your colds in half. All of my recent times here the staff has been helpful and nice. Overall, I have noticed that they are considerably cheaper than other stores for certain items. Sign up for the emails and they will send you coupons. read more

I had the pleasure of walking into this establishment and the older woman who helped me out was amazing and helped me out much more than I thought she would. SO , I originally was going there to pick up some c4, by the way the mystery flavor kind of tastes like the mystery flavor airhead from way back when. Anyways, I went to go check out the whey to 1. check out prices and 2. try and figure out what the hell it does exactly ( I'm a complete noob at all stuff shakes) The older woman who was working there saw my husband and I kind of struggling in between the whey, whey isolate and the protein. She asked if we were finding everything ok and we admitted that we weren't. She pretty much gave us kindergarten descriptions and helped Us pick the right one for what we are need. She then asks if we have any more questions and we asked if there was anything for joint pain and showed us to another section where she gave us more kindergarten descriptions of what we would need. Before this gets any longer, it was an amazing experience. The place is clean and products are up to date. The store flows so you're not running around looking for something that's on the other side of the store. This is the first vitamin shoppe I've ever been in so I'm not sure if they're all like this , but that's besides the point. I wish I knew the lady's name because she made my day. read more

I normally don't write bad reviews, because I can understand if an employee is having a bad day or if somethings are out of their control - but the lady at Vitamin shop was very rude. I came in looking for a specific item they didn't have but they had a larger size than I wanted. I saw on Amazon that it was $10 cheaper and wanted to see if they could price match or at least order the smaller size. They couldn't, which is completely understandable but I wanted to see if they could at least order the smaller size but the lady seemed like she was on a tangent and cut me off when I asked if she could at least order it. Now I would've preferred to buy it there and almost contemplated getting the larger one but the way she responded just seemed really rude. I was debating even getting a protein shake replacement but I realized it just wasn't worth giving my business. I have no problem paying extra if a company can't price match, or if they literally cannot do anything but least you can do is provide better customer service. I felt like my business wasn't wanted nor needed there whereas other protein shops legitimately want to help you find the product you need. Definitely will not be coming back, I'm sure some of the other employees are kind, maybe she is too, but this interaction just left a bad taste in my mouth. Why am I going to buy a product that I don't want for $50 when I can get the size I want on Amazon for $20 with better service. Sorry Vitamin Shop you dropped the ball on this one - almost had me as a customer until that. read more

I used to buy supplements elsewhere, but I have not found another store with so many knowledgeable people who are genuinely concerned with my health rather than just making a sale. I am in the La Mesa store (#183) often, and yesterday I was helped by Jessi. She was super friendly and gave me great insight into achieving greater success on keto. I appreciate everyone working for The Vitamin Shoppe! read more

This is one of the places I have used to purchase supplements on an off for the past 6-7 years. I used to stay away from commercial supplement stores because they are usually pretty expensive but apparently I am a fool. I was able to pick up 2 BSN aminos w/ 30 servings each for about 30% the best price I had found and snagged a good fat burner within 2 dollars of its bodybuilding.com asking price. The customer service here is always great. There seems to always be at least 2-3 fit people walking around the store offering knowledge and assistance. The organization of the store is a little questionable, with products scattered throughout the store in a very awkward and inconsistent manner. I found myself stumbling upon great proteins and having to travel back and forth across the store to compare them. I will definitely stop back by on payday to see if I can find any more clearance steals or sales. read more

If you are looking for a water retention product they have slim selection but make sure you read the label because the one that was suggested had sodium in it and I had to point that out to the girl that worked the floor. Thank you to RUDY for the patient and informative info per our phone convo today. I called because I had trouble getting an order thru online. Rudy was great and gave me another number to call as he couldn't be positively sure of a question I was asking. Although he gave me the correct answer, he requested I call Customer Care for surety. I did and got a great person on the phone to chat with. All in all my experience was fantastic with both the Employees I chatted with. I live out of the area and have not visited the La Mesa Store directly, but if I do get the chance I will go there. Again Thank You Rudy, and Customer Care. And just a note to those that expect/demand Employees to bend over backwards for you because you are in a bad mood, bad day, in a huge hurry, or are an overall grouch. Customer Service is the hardest generally the most thankless job one takes on. but, most enjoyable job, when we know we have helped someone get what they need/want....Yet, all that depends on how as a Customer we / I / you treat others. Been on both sides of that fence. read more
