Now this timeline might not be the norm but for me it was great! I had called a half a dozen independent contractors over a period of months to look at various carpentry repairs and either got zero response or "let me get back to you when I'm less busy." Then my tenants moved out of the rental side of my house so work needed to be done ASAP. Randy was prompt and made an early morning call so I could make it to work, almost on time. He wrote up a quote. Their automated system for quotes and acceptance is a tadbit clunky but I'll take technology where I can get it. Everything was typed out and readable. The man who did the carpentry was polite and meticulous! I'm sure the doors he repaired haven't looked so well in 100 years. Then the painter came in and took care of the rest. Will definitely use them again. I do think their prices might be higher than hiring an independent. But they also show up and do the work when and how they promised. So definitely worth it. Now to pay off this bill and to start thinking about the other rotten wood spots that need work...

HIRE THIS MAN. Gus saved my family from some serious potential health issues! I called him out…read morefor what was supposed to be a small job, but it quickly turned into a huge job after we found what was under neath our floors.... After reaching out to a few contractors, Gus was the only one who responded.... and FAST! We moved into a new house in December. The previous owners did A LOT of renovations. Unfortunately, some of the renovations were done poorly. I noticed in the dining room and living room the newly installed laminate floors (from previous owner) felt uneven and had a little too much bounce in them. I didnt think much about it until my newborn was delivered and I was on parental leave. Thats when I decided to call Gus to come check it out. Before lifting the floors we thought it would be a few hour job. Add some self leveler and reinstall floors. If only it was that easy. After removing floors...we immediately saw plastic under the new laminate floors...and that plastic was covering OLD laminate floors. Once we cut the plastic, we saw the disaster. ROT AND MOLD. Luckily it was isolated to just that room. So he killed all the mold and mildew by meticulously cleaning. Then he ripped up the entire wood floor that was glued down to the concrete slab. He filled all the cracks in the slab, and cleaned and scraped all glue. The next day he laid down plastic over concrete slab and began installing new floors again with some help. After laying floors, he fixed up the baseboards, installed new quarter round and new thresholds. After everything's was installed, a nice new coat of paint and he was on his way! I would recommend Gus for any job small or big. He seems very knowledgeable in all areas of home construction... as I found out as I annoyingly picked his brain out of curiosity. I have him coming out for a gutter issue very soon.

My partner and I found Jason through Yelp, and based on his profile and website took a shot in the dark and contacted him for a quote. We're so happy we did! As a start-up business our budget is tightly managed to the penny. Jason stated he wasn't the least expensive in his field, but we were so impressed with his easy-going, professional manner we were convinced the cost would be worth it. Jason recognized our needs right away and the quote he submitted was more than reasonable, and less than his competitor. His crew is friendly and efficient, and their work is impeccable! We certainly weren't one of Jason's larger projects but he made a point to stop by the site and check in on the progress of the job, as well as stay in touch by phone. Jason is reliable, reasonably priced, and invested in his local community. We can't recommend Jason and his crew enough!

Additionally, the individuals sent will, while still on the clock, spend time googling how to complete work that they confirmed they could complete and then sit around chatting with each other about things unrelated to the work that needs to be completed. The workers also left holes in my walls, left patched drywall that unpainted, and performed work that needed to be repaired again a few days after they left. Also, don't attempt to call them to discuss the issue. They are rude, unhelpful people who take pride in their horrible customer service and support they provide. We had peeling paint, rot, leaks, all the problems you would expect from long-term neglect. Bob came well recommended so we finally bit the bullet and booked the job. He was great to work with from the start. He went over everything we expected, wrote up a contract and finally the big day arrived. He was on the job daily and his son, Ron was onsite the entire time working alongside the crew and making sure everything was done correctly. They arrived every morning and started work at 7am on the dot. They scraped, sanded, caulked and repaired all the problem spots. They pressure washed the brick walkways and even the sidewalk out front. They were clean and tidy and the whole crew was very nice. They all paid attention to every detail and did a great job. Bob and Ron responded to and dealt with all of our questions and concerns with aplomb. The work was top notch. Any issues that came up were dealt with professionally. We did have one big issue that put my stomach in knots - At the end of the first day of painting we realized that the paint was much more glossy than the paint we had picked out. The back wall had been painted 5 months earlier with a nearly matte finish. We were very disheartened to see that they had already painted both sides with what looked like a semi-gloss. The paint they purchased was from a different company and it was glossier than it should have been. Thankfully Ron and Bob agreed that it wasn't right so they re-did everything again, making us customers for life. We appreciate the professionalism, attention to detail and extremely strong work ethic from everyone on the crew. We were so impressed that everyone was there, ready to work, at 7 am. They worked all day in the heat, and at the end of every single day everything was all cleaned up like there was no work going on at all. The work was finished on time and on budget. The house looks gorgeous! We keep going out to the curb just to stare at it. All the neighbors are talking. It was an eyesore but now it's the nicest house on the block. Really, we are just so impressed with the whole job. Thank you Bob, Ron and the whole team!
