I was left to deal with the owner Clint and things went downhill quickly from there. With the previous employee, we agreed on a price, I verified EVERYTHING was included and signed the estimate. Shortly after the employee left & Clint began trying to add extra costs to my project. He tried to add an extra $1500 to have the windows approved by the VCC for permitting. When I asked him about removing this fee because I had already agreed upon a total amount he later removed it after a lot of back & forth. When he removed this fee and sent the quote back to me, he added an extra $370 to the price of the doors without mentioning anything about this. After I noticed the increase in the door with ZERO explanation I knew I couldn't move forward with Clint bc he cannot be trusted. After putting down a $5400 deposit and having issues after the employee left, I had to threaten to sue Clint to get some of my deposit back. Clint ended up keeping $2200 for the drawings that they had done when I am only able to use 3 of the 5 drawings. Follow up & feedback from Clint & the employees in the office is terrible. If I were you, I would not start any project with Central City Millworks because when it goes downhill you have to fight to get a portion of your deposit back and to be left with nothing.

The reason I knocked them a star was for some consistent miscommunication between me and their team. At times, they were really responsive and on top of it. For a small period in the middle of the planning phase, they were hard to pin down. Ultimately, they build 3 sets of shutters and had them dialed in nicely. Hardware install was decent. Not perfect, but totally functional. The team they sent for the install did a really good job of troubleshooting in the field. I appreciated their effort. I know it took longer than expected for install. Good product and good install. I would use these guys again.

I called on a Friday to see if they could meet me a potential investment property, and they were there Saturday morning at 8am. That property fell through, but fast forward a few months, and they just finished a HUGE renovation on one of my investment properties in Hammond. They did a full gut / reno on a grimy 3 bed / 2 bath single family house. One contractor told me the work would take 8 weeks, but these guys finished it in under 5 weeks! There are many wonderful things I could say about them, but a few things that set them apart from other contractors: Speed (they work fast) and Dedication (their team works 6-7 days / week and start their days as early as 6am. They have been on my project site for 21 hours on some days to finish their work). I feel many contractors have pretty good general knowledge, but no one is as fast and dedicated as these guys. He was transparent, friendly and patient. What I was really impressed with, was how he kept referring to the shingles as "our" shingles (Ex. "We want to remove anything that can damage our shingles.") To me, it really highlighted the sense of ownership and accountability Pete dedicates to projects. He wants to deliver lasting quality to his clients. Pete ordered the materials we requested and his team went to work about a week later. While they were working, it began to rain heavily and we thought for sure the job would have to be postponed. But to our surprise, the crew waited out the rain under our carport and once it stopped, they climbed back up and started working again. They completed our main roof and garage in ONE day. Wow! I can't recommend Above All Construction enough. They treated our property with the utmost care, safely removing and disposing of multiple satellite dishes left on the roof by the previous owners, trimming branches that could harm our new shingles, reinstalling our string lights after they were finished, and even blowing our driveway clean. If it weren't for the new roof, it would be hard to tell that they were even there. That's how small a footprint they left.

Once we worked out the details of the project, they were able to start the job quickly for us. They completed the project in a few different stages and the entire job was completed in about 2 weeks time. There were a few communication gaps along the way but were resolved pretty quickly. We also had to have them back a few times after installation as the gate was set too close to the ground and had problems opening. It took two separate visits to convince them the gate needed to be raised by about 2 inches but eventually agreed with me and made the adjustments. They were priced a bit higher of all the quotes we received but the only company we found that was capable of handling the entire project. Overall it was a positive experience and I would hire them again.
