We bought a 100+ year old house in New Orleans knowing that we'd need some removal and repair of plaster, and some minor sheetrock repairs. We found Jake and Son on the internet and called leaving a message. Jake returned our call in about 10 minutes. He had a job scheduled in the area and came out that afternoon to look at what was needed. He worked up a quote on the spot for the repairs. As we live in the Baton Rouge area, he worked with us to schedule a date and time. Jake and his son arrived as scheduled and went right to work repairing the plaster walls and sheetrock. 120 year old home with plaster walls and ceilings . Needed plaster replacement and stabilization on an interior wall and also used them to replace plaster in ceilings after replacing nob and tube wiring throughout the house. These professionals are extremely knowledgeable and take great pride in their work . After observing their work ethic which includes protecting surrounding areas from dust and debris , prep of the surface to be repaired ,using appropriate fasteners to stabilize the area to be repaired , mixing and application of the plaster and the finished product I am very confident that these plaster repairs will last another 100 years . Jake and his son arrived in time period he told me and that was a big plus to get off to such a good start. They are very well organized and work well together. My husband and I both felt comfortable having them in our home. Conversations flowed so easily we almost forgot why they were there! Jake & Son were extremely responsive when we needed some unfinished repairs addressed before we could move on to the next stage of a kitchen project. We called for a quote on December 28th. Jake came out on December 29th and gave us a written quote. They were able to fit us into their work schedule first thing in the morning, 7:30am, on December 31st. We needed to be somewhere at 11am that day, but Jake & Son were in and out before 9am. The entire project from first call to finished repairs only took 4 days. Jake & Son did a phenomenal job repairing a large (5ft x 1ft) hole in my plaster ceiling. It all went exactly how you'd hope: I read good reviews on Yelp; I called and scheduled an appointment; they came on time, put down plastic and drop cloths, patched the hole, left behind no mess; I paid the agreed upon price and now there's no trace of the gaping hole.
