We went to Hertz Car Sales Inglewood ready to purchase a 2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. We had already…read moretest-driven the vehicle, selected the unit we wanted, and had pre-approved financing through Nordstrom Federal Credit Union at 4.87% APR for 36 months. We were then told by the sales staff that Hertz "does not work with" our credit union and that we would be required to use Hertz financing instead. We were told we could refinance later -- which would mean paying additional interest and fees that we had already avoided by securing our own financing. When we contacted Hertz Car Sales corporate through Facebook to confirm whether outside credit unions are allowed, we received a vague response saying our credit union "doesn't qualify," without any clear explanation of why or what criteria were used. This directly conflicts with what our credit union told us and mirrors what many other reviewers here have reported -- customers being pressured into dealer financing even when they already have funding in place. We were not asking for a discount, special pricing, or anything unusual -- only to use our own lender, which is standard practice at most dealerships. Refusing to accept outside financing effectively forces buyers into higher-cost loans and removes real choice from the transaction. We were ready to buy this car but ultimately walked away because we were not willing to take on unnecessary interest and fees just to complete the sale. We hope Hertz Car Sales corporate will review how they handle outside financing and credit unions, because this experience did not match the transparent, no-hassle process that Hertz advertises. Please put on your website in plan site that you limit outside financing

Second time buying a car from Hertz, this time we went to their Inglewood location…read more A little background, the last car I purchased was cash in 2017 at their old Costa Mesa location. It was a great experience, so we decided to head to another Hertz to purchase a car again. We've been looking for a car for a few weeks now, just online, and today we decided to bite the bullet so to speak. We were greeted right away by Lukas. This is a very chill, no pressure environment. We looked at some cars on the lot and walked away after about 30 or so minutes of asking a ton of questions. We left and felt zero obligation or pressure to return. We went and got lunch and decided to go ahead and go forward with the purchase since we had decided on a car during our lunch break. My husband called Lukas and told him we were headed back in. After we got back, the entire process only took about 2 hours, that's with test drive, financing and everything. The finance guy Robert was also very pleasant and answered all of our questions. We walked away from the whole experience with peace of mind and confidence that we got a good deal with a nice little car to drive for years to come. Thanks Lukas and Hertz for making car buying look and feel easy!

Purchasing the vehicle was an easy process. We offered full cash for the vehicle and asked if the price would be negotiable, there was little to no wiggle room, so we did half cash and half finance. Drove the vehicle home the same day. On Thanksgiving evening (on our way out) the transmission went out while on the freeway. Car was loaded with the entire family, had to get the car towed to the mechanic while Ubering to our destination. We spent a couple thousand dollars in fixing the transmission, and a few hundred bucks on the tow truck along with the uber on Thanksgiving night. We haven't driven the truck for even 1000 miles and already replaced the transmission, which gives this place a 1 star rating. We did not call when the transmission went out, didn't think we'd get any consideration since we were considered owners of the vehicle already. However, we called 1-week after they responded to our google review and until today, we have not received follow up. If a follow up is received, I will post an update. The entire family was friendly and helpful throughout the purchasing process. My conclusion on this experience: I purchased a used vehicle at Hawthorne Motors Express and the transmission went out 3 months after owning it. *we are proud owners of 2 previously owned vehicles, which were purchased from Enterprise Car Sales. I know where I'll be going for my next car.

The 3rd was does the car have any active fault codes in any of its 2 dozen modules? I wanted to speak to their tech or tech manager about the results of their scanning. NO if there were none or YES if there were but they were fixed and no longer there. I explained that I am 2000 miles away having to buy sight unseen. TOny proceeds to give me a speech about how wonderful their cars are, how they go through a thorough 4 point inspection [4 points is thorough!?!?!] and emission check per state law. He first says he will allow me to speak to their tech mgr and then in mid conversation changes his mind and says I have to hire a mechanic to do an inspection on my own dime. I advised that would not work and that I thought my ask was reasonable as I only wanted to talk to their tech/tech mgr and not get a copy of a written report, etc. I advised Tony that I apologized for asking them to do something that they were not comfortable with and I withdraw my request to buy. HUH!?!?!?

A very dark car dealership, with employees with dark spirits. If you are sensitive enough... when…read moreyou get to this dealership you will feel a very low, dark, shady energy. I strongly recommend, that you give yourself a better car buying experience and do not waste any of your time or energy here. I came to this dealership early in the day after specifically researching a few cars on their website and speaking with a receptionist. Everyone I spoke with at this dealership went in and out of different personalities, and were very rude to me. One employee snapped at me, an older Hispanic male, it's like they just didn't want to show me the vehicles I wanted to see. Also the main one I was interested in, it was listed incorrectly on the website - but also the staff each gave me a contradicting story about the vehicle one saying it was in the shop, another saying "I just don't want that one because it will be too much to repair" They just did not want to give me service. Also wanted to be controlling. Some people will do all they can you also just try to sabotage something you are trying to do for yourself. I'm actually going to look into starting a lawsuit against them for racial discrimination, and see if I can get the business shut down so no one else has to fee the dark, Evil.... energy they tried to make me feel that day. The owner/manager Mike also did not give me a call back like I asked. Very dark people, I'm calling out every single one of them in 2026. You've been warned, save yourself the headache and truly Low Quality experience, and go to a different car dealership. Many of their vehicles have substantial repairs needed as well, so consider if it is worth it. They also has a gps fee for example of $1500 I think it was; they just got frustrated and more rude towards me- instead of explaining this fee ... I was a new customer, so no of course I'm coming in asking questions ... it was just jealousy, racism, and dark vibes. It's clear that these are small people thinking they have big lives, working at this run down used car dealership ... It's incredible to see. There was maybe one person in there you could tell her clear energy, the rest ... all murky people. If I were you, I would not go to this dealership; or prepare yourself for any charming they may try to do on you- appearing polite, but they are entirely something else. God Bless All.

On top of that, the price we got was an absolute steal (4-5k LOWER than the KBB price). Big Thank You to Christian, James, and their GM for making this happen. This experience really changed the way I view car buying - I've learned that if you apply due diligence at every step of the sales process you can avoid a lot of the negative experiences that others have had. Prior to coming to LAX CDJR we had been to other dealers with cash in-hand, ready to buy and they all let us down one way or another so we walked away. When we came across a car we were interested in at LAX CDJR Christian was quick to respond to every request we made. We asked for a picture of the paint quality, he sent us a full 360 video. We asked for an OTD cash quote and he sent it to us within an hour and there were NO hidden fees or add-ons. Finally I asked if I can send a mechanic over there for a pre-purchase inspection (shout out to POMCAR) and Christian was more than accommodating, even offering to let us to take the car off the lot. Everything had gone so smoothly that I was actually expecting the inspection to come back with some major repairs needed, but nope. The 10 page report came back and the car was nearly flawless except for a few cosmetic issues. So we pulled the trigger. Of course no car buying experience is complete without the finance person screwing you over - but not here! We worked with James and he recognized that it was my son's first time buying a car so he immediately put him at ease cracking jokes and walking him through the process. He knew my son was only working part time so he didn't try to push other services on him that he knew he couldn't afford. When all was said and done my son had the biggest smile on his face and we couldn't be more grateful. In the last 20+ years I've purchased cars from Land Rover, BMW, Tesla, Porsche, Mercedes, etc and LAX CDJR was one of the easiest car buying experiences I've had.

I dropped my car off at 8 AM for what I assumed would be a straightforward recall software update…read more The staff member reassured me it wouldn't be a problem to have it ready by 1 PM and said she'd give me a call to let me know when I could pick it up. That call never came. After several attempts to follow up, I finally got through--only to be told the technician was on lunch and the car still wasn't ready. By 4 PM, it was still in the shop. At that point, I was told the delay was because my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica was "old." A four-year-old car is far from old in my opinion, and if that was going to be an issue, it should've been communicated upfront--especially since the car has been serviced there before. They did end up offering me a rental car, but the way it was handled didn't sit right. I was told if I didn't return it with a full tank, I'd be charged $150--despite the fact there's literally a gas station across the street. It felt like unnecessary pressure on top of an already frustrating situation. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because they at least provided a rental. If you decide to bring your car here, I'd suggest managing your expectations, staying on top of the communication yourself, and being prepared to micromanage the process--because unfortunately, that's how you'll have to be treated to get anything done.

I was upfront about my situation: low credit score, past repo, no large deposit, a trade-in that wasn't in great condition, and negative equity. Even after explaining all of that, I was repeatedly told to come in and that it shouldn't be a problem. I asked multiple times because I didn't want to waste anyone's time. When I arrived, I worked with a sales agent who was honestly great. He was respectful and genuinely seemed to want to help. On Day 1, we spent hours trying different vehicles and lenders but weren't successful. I was told I may need a larger down payment (around $5,000) or a co-signer. I understood and left. The next day, I received a call and was told to come back because a woman named Natasha might be able to help. I was told she was one of the few people who could work directly with banks to try to get approvals. She seemed kind and said she would do her best. Later that night, after following up, I was told they couldn't make anything work--but that Natasha suggested I look at an entry-level vehicle like a Sentra or Chevy Malibu. I agreed. On May 22nd, I was told to come back at 1 PM because there was still a chance. After waiting, the agent told me I'd likely be placed into an entry-level vehicle and that there was a good possibility I'd leave with something. They asked about my down payment, and I explained I had $1,000 now and could provide more in two weeks. Then my file was handed to another employee and suddenly I was told there was absolutely nothing they could do. At that point I was confused. I had spent three days there, driven back and forth, and had repeatedly been encouraged to return. I politely asked if I could speak with Natasha just to understand what changed. Instead, I was directed to speak with the employee who denied it. I asked respectfully why the situation changed. He explained it was because of my negative equity and amount owed, but when I referenced information I believed had been given earlier, the conversation shifted into questioning where I got my information from instead of explaining the change. The conversation became uncomfortable, and at one point I was told to get off the phone with my partner, who had been involved in helping with the down payment. I declined, thanked Natasha, and left. I don't know if he was having a bad day, but I did not deserve that interaction after communicating respectfully and giving three days of my time. Ironically, after leaving, I was approved elsewhere with $1,000 down on a brand new 2026 Nissan. I do want to say again that the sales agent I worked with was genuinely great and encouraged me not to give up. My issue is not with him--it's with the changing expectations and communication. I hope in the future you guys treat people better. Life is already hard for people we are all trying to get better in life. Your in a business where your going to get people trying to get in better things, be kind. Lose the attitude and stop the misleading info. Also, stop having people in New York texting your clients telling them false info. Thanks! See you never again!
