The car was booked to pick me up from my hotel in Warrensburg at noon, the destination - Lake George. I was quoted $30. On the 1st of May, not only was the car 20 minutes late, but he also had picked up another passenger who was already sitting in the car's back seat. I called the dispatcher and asked if she could send another car for me since the driver of this trip had essentially turned my pre-booked ride into a ride share, and I didn't have any luck with convincing her to send another car for me and my ride. So I pretty much had to get into the car (the car that I HAD BOOKED FOR MYSELF) with this sketchy driver and some other guy in the back seat who seemed really stressed as he unloaded to the driver about his homelessness, and I asked the driver if there was some way that my $30 fare would be discounted since my ride turned into a ride share without any prior notice or consent. The driver's response: "THIS IS PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION! THERE'S NO DISCOUNT!" Wait, what? Why are you raising your voice at me? And how is this public transportation, I literally called Consolidate Taxi Services, a private company, to book this trip just yesterday? How exactly does that qualify as a "public transportation?" What is really going on here? I was so mad I just got quiet and played my soothing music in my headphones, zoning out as much as I possibly could so that my resting-bitch-face wouldn't be so glaringly obvious to everyone. Additionally, the driver had his cell phone in his lap and was texting with someone for the whole of the ride. While he was driving! I couldn't wait to get out of that vehicle, I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone! I would not suggest this company to anyone else. Call a different service, this one does not take their business serious at all. It's a joke.

We did need to move our cars for alternate parking rules Saturday morning but that was no big deal. The room was charming, had ample space to store our belongings and it was clean. Problems with this "corporate housing": 1) The "fridge" was sticky with leftover dirt. 2) I cleaned up a bug that looked like a cockroach on the floor of the "kitchen" area. 3) No toilet paper and a used pack of chewing gum on my bed (this will apply to a later complaint.) 4) No one else is EVER home at this house. I tried to bang on a door to the main house a few times, no one ever answered. 5) An apartment owned by same owner next to my room. Tenant stays up until 3:00 AM playing rock music and TV. The door between our rooms provided no sound protection at all. Light shone through into my room. 6) I call to complain about the noise and the college student accused me of lying -- and asked did I think there were "animals running around on the roof" or something? I called the owner and she said "I'm in Florida, what do you want me to do about it." 7) The college student started sending angry texts to my phone. First I get a text in the middle of the night while I am in bed trying to sleep: I have to buy my own toilet paper, I should have known that. 8) Text attack continues. I have checked out and now I'm in an EconoLodge but I am still getting texts from this girl at Saratoga House. She informs me she found used chewing gum stuck down under the sheets of the bed I had slept in. Hmm. Considering I did not chew any gum, that means I slept with a stranger's chewing gum. Lovely. 9) More texts: she is mad because the door knob to the bathroom keeps falling off - and why didn't I fix it? After having foreign used chewing gum in my bed, cleaning up a dead cockroach, using leftover napkins as toilet paper, scrubbing the fridge out with sanitizing soap-- I do apologize for not making repairs to your guesthouse. I thought since I paid I was the guest, but I was obviously wrong. I admit you deserve better. Now please stop texting me.

The jacuzzi was open and just what the dr ordered. We ate out a few times, but the kitchen was fully furnished to make a nice dinner last night . our unit 13 has a lovely main bedroom with a jacuzzi on-suite. With 2nd bedroom on the same level. The 2nd floor had great views from the living room and a fireplace that opened to the dining room. with a 3 rd bedroom in a loft (a very cool room for kids ) easy parking . since the fireworks were right down the road, we walked down to the doc and could watch without having to drive the views are spectacular. We could have accommodated a few more! The porch was perfect for cookouts and hanging out in the evenings. It was VERY hot this week (and we came from Florida), but the air worked great on the lower floors but the upper floor peeps said it was a little warm at night. That is unusual for this neck of the woods, I know, I grew up here. I would describe this place as a notch or two above rustic. Perfect for our needs! Lots of tables and seating and a large refrigerator. Towels were scarce and we flew up from Florida so Todd, the owner provided more. There is a dishwasher and a washer dryer which was broken when we arrived but they got it fixed during our stay. The walk to the lake is a little bit of an adventure, but doable. I would stay again, thanks Todd!

From the beginning, under the original owners, this resort became more than just a vacation spot, it became part of our family tradition. The original owners were truly remarkable people who poured their hearts into the resort, treating guests like family. Their warmth, hospitality, and understanding of what made this place special set the tone for everything we've come to love. Now under new ownership, I know there have been mixed reviews, but let's be honest, everyone starts somewhere. Chris, the new owner, listens, takes suggestions seriously, and is clearly making an effort to modernize the resort while honoring its legacy. Change is never easy, especially when emotions and memories run deep, but I see the intention behind it and truly appreciate the effort. The rooms have been revamped with clean floors and refreshed spaces, and housekeeping comes every two days, which works perfectly. And if you ever need something... just ask! The staff is accommodating and always willing to help. What keeps us/me coming back year after year? It's the community of regular guests who've become our "summer neighbors." That sense of connection and tradition is still very much alive. Chris understands how much we loved the previous owners and respects that legacy, while also bringing a new chapter to Flamingo Resort. Checking in was super easy and quick. The hotel appearance is very well maintained out/in. My room was a suite with a king size bed, full kitchen and get this washer and dryer. I mean this room was better that when I used to live in a studio apt. The hotel also provides water and everything you need to wash clothes. The room was super nice and very well kept. The Customer service was impeccable any where you went. The hotel is centrally located and its close to Broadway, main strip for types of bars and restaurants. Hint......Do not come when its Saratoga horse racing season, you will pay up the wazuuuuu. But do try highly recommend. Kudos to the hotel staff keep up the great work!!
