Hubby and I found this place on expedia for $70 a night and decided to try it. We were happy with our decision to stay here. The blair house is one of many mom and pop motels on the route 9 strip just outside of Lake George Village. Like many motels here your "room" might actually be a small cabin or a cottage. We opted for a king size bed so our room was actually joined with 3 other rooms (two on the bottom and two on the upper floor) in a combined cottage. Our room had a king size bed, a private bathroom, A/C, a television with a remote control, a mini fridge, a microwave and a keurig. I'm not a keurig fan but a keurig in your hotel room is actually pretty nice as most hotels with coffee pots do not provide keurigs. These extras in our room enabled us to visit the grocery store during our trip and stock it with some milk and extra drinks. We also bought our own k-cups and cereal so we could save on breakfast. During our stay the maintenance in our room was basic service. I think the family that lives in the office house and owns the hotel maintains the rooms so we were provide with fresh towels and extra toilet paper but our beds were not made. I am not complaining about this though as we don't make our bed at home so it didn't bother us. The keys are literally keys not cards that are now given as room keys in major hotels. The owners were very nice, we didn't have many questions for them but when we checked in they did tell us not to hesitate if we needed anything. I enjoyed the blair house and would come back again if we went back to lake george.

All of their cabins offer different sizes and amenities so based on what you or your family needs you will want to read the bookings and ensure you're getting what you need. Check in was smooth and painless and it's great you can check in until 9:00pm. Checking out was painless as well. They just ask you to keep it clean which isn't asking much. About a 15 minute walk into town but only a 1 minute drive. It is in a great location and suits all of your needs. Just beware if you are going with a large group - there is only one space per cottage for parking so make sure you follow this because parking is very slim. Definitely a place you should look into if you are visiting the area!

My family has a cabin nearby, but sometimes there is too many people staying at once, so my husband and I rent from Ponderosa Pines. The cabin had everything we need, and the views of the lake are gorgeous! The beach is clean, and the people are friendly. The bar is also so laid back, with an updated rustic feel. They often have live music, and again the people are friendly and are there to just have a good time. Relaxed and fun vibes all around. Highly recommend!

Sticky floors that make the bottoms of your feet turn black. The "view" is not of the lake, but a crowded assortment of trailer R/Vs. (Nice people waved at us on the way in, though.) There is not one bar of soap or amenity to speak of. The beds bite. I am dumbfounded (how could someplace so ugly be in someplace so beautiful?) and so glad I checked out early. From the beginning, under the original owners, this resort became more than just a vacation spot, it became part of our family tradition. The original owners were truly remarkable people who poured their hearts into the resort, treating guests like family. Their warmth, hospitality, and understanding of what made this place special set the tone for everything we've come to love. Now under new ownership, I know there have been mixed reviews, but let's be honest, everyone starts somewhere. Chris, the new owner, listens, takes suggestions seriously, and is clearly making an effort to modernize the resort while honoring its legacy. Change is never easy, especially when emotions and memories run deep, but I see the intention behind it and truly appreciate the effort. The rooms have been revamped with clean floors and refreshed spaces, and housekeeping comes every two days, which works perfectly. And if you ever need something... just ask! The staff is accommodating and always willing to help. What keeps us/me coming back year after year? It's the community of regular guests who've become our "summer neighbors." That sense of connection and tradition is still very much alive. Chris understands how much we loved the previous owners and respects that legacy, while also bringing a new chapter to Flamingo Resort. Change takes time, but the heart of Flamingo is still beating strong. And for me that's reason enough to keep coming back.

We stop at the Lake George Visitor Center frequently during our summer visits to the village. It…read moresits right where Beach Road meets Canada Street, smack in the middle of the village, and feels like the beating heart of this place packed with lake fever and Adirondack charm. The first thing you notice inside is how friendly everyone is. You can grab brochures for boat tours, hiking, ice cream spots, even fireworks schedules, and they really seem to enjoy pointing out what might make your trip special. There is an interactive map that breaks down the lake and the surrounding region, plus displays summarizing local history and attractions throughout Warren County. That mix of information and welcome makes you feel like you are being handed the keys to the Adirondacks instead of a stack of paper. The restrooms tucked behind the center are a nice touch if you have been walking the boardwalk or coming off the beach. Perhaps not the cleanest you';; ever experience, especially during peak times, but never at the "any port in a storm" level, either. This winter the Lake George Winter Carnival used the Visitor Center as its headquarters instead of their usual spot off the beach at Sheppard Park, and it worked surprisingly well. Volunteers were in throughout the day hosting a hot chocolate bar, running the Sunday Sundae bar, selling Carnival souvenirs, and helping people navigate maps and schedules. With the brutal cold that joined us for our visit last weekend, having an excuse for an indoor respite was a nice option to have. It gave the place a lively community feel that made you glad you stopped in. In a town full of sights and things to do, the Visitor Center manages to be a reliably pleasant stop. You get solid advice, a bit of local flavor, enough history to feel enriched and a sense of where to go next. Five stars for being such a nice hub of information and good will.

Bathrooms are cleaned frequently. Each campsite has 1 picnic table and 1 fire ring. Generators are allowed during designated times. Took 1 star off because the spots were tight. Our spot was advertised for a 40-foot rig but our 32-footer snuggly fit in the spot.

WARNING..........Do not book campsites 1-7!!!!! These sites are literally 30ft from the street…read more There is a ton of traffic noise as the campground is right on the main strip only about 1/4 mile from Lake George Village. The campground is otherwise well kept with clean bathrooms.
