My wife's family has been coming to The Juliana for over 30 years now, and I've been going for over a decade. In that time period, there have been many ebbs and flows to the quality of the experience. Right now appears to be a significant downturn. When the new ownership group took over a few years ago, we were hopeful. Rooms were refreshed a bit, new bedding and towels were purchased. Since then, it's been a steady but slow decline. We always stay in the same rooms, and the shower in room 29 has been leaking in the same spot for the past 3 years now. The deck to room 30 is rotting away and was absolutely filthy when we arrived. The sheets on two of the three beds in room 30 were stained. The entire building ran out of propane our first night there, so there was no gas for the stoves or any hot water our first day and a half. The grill on our deck was absolutely filthy and had old food lodged under the grill plates. The stove's burner was partially disassembled and had soot all over the place. These are oversights that never would have occurred when Eric was running the show. While all of these oversights throughout the property have happened, the costs has grown exorbitantly under the new ownership group. It's a terribly sad thing to see. The location is still fantastic, and the front-facing staff there are still wonderful, but it seems like the absent ownership is taking the profits from this property and putting them into their other properties in the Lake George property. We'll probably give The Juliana one more chance purely for nostalgia's sake, but if we don't see significant improvement next year, it will sadly be time to move on. There are far too many properties up and down the lake to accept what The Juliana is providing for the price point they are charging. read more

I was so disappointed! I booked a 4 day stay for me and my husband and had given a deposit! But 3 days before we were supposed to check in I was admitted to the hospital and was still in hospital when my reservation started!! I called the resort and explained to them that I was in the hospital and wanted to just change the dates of my reservation! I was told by the manager that I could not change the dates even though I told them I had proof I'm in the hospital!!! I was soo upset! I just wanted to change the dates so my husband and I could still go On a mini vacation together without the kids!!!! I think it's bad customer service not it try to accommodate the guest!!! We stayed at The Juliana for 3 nights. The staff was friendly, nice little beach, free paddle boards and kayaks, basketball hoop had bent rim, ping pong table was soft ball didn't bounce, cute little hammock, nice fire pits, plenty of grills, and nice covered roof top deck overlooks water. Room was a little dated, bathroom was clean, but shower was super tiny. Living room floor was not clean had sticky stuff on it. Beds were soft and comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped, but fry pans were burnt that there was no tephlon left. Overall we had a pleasant stay. It was quiet at night too. read more

We recently stayed at the Juliana resort for labor day weekend. Only from Friday to Monday but we definitely enjoyed our time there. It is quiet and quaint. We stayed in unit 24. The AC was in the bathroom and the shower was really small. I feel that was the only negative. We loved being able to build a fire and make s'mores while enjoying the peace and quiet. The view is beautiful and there are many activities to keep you entertained. Heated pool, ping pong table, kayaking, and more. You are in the middle of the lake george village and bolton landing. I definitely recommend the restaurants in bolton landing. Will definitely be staying there again. read more

My fiancé and I stayed here this past weekend for our anniversary weekend getaway. The website made this "resort" look and sound incredible... the website was extremely misleading. We had reserved a lakeside room with a private patio. HA! There are only two lakeside rooms with private patios and we ended up not getting either one of them!! For the price of our teeny tiny room I would have stayed at the Marriott IN TOWN. The room is so small that there isn't even A table and chairs in the room. the bathroom only has a very tight shower with a trickle of a shower head, and a toilet. Warning, they do not provide you with shampoo or conditioner, only one tiny bar of soap. And you need to bring your own hair dryer as well. The room is not private at all, and the curtain doesn't even cover the entire glass door that is right up against the parking lot on the first floor. There is no view of the lake from the room either. The housekeeping crew is the loudest, most obnoxious crew I have ever come across. Our first morning there we put up our do not disturb sign and we could hear them having a conversation about the fact that we had it up. They would stomp and bang and yell down the hall to each other at 9:30 in the morning (were on vacation and our 8month old is hanging out with her grandma) we would have really liked some peace and quiet and to sleep in. The walls are paper thin, you can hear someone sneeze two rooms over. Our second morning, as if the volume of the cleaning staffs conversations weren't enough, right next to our room with the DO NOT DISTURB SIGN UP the grounds keeper was LEAF BLOWING right outside our DOOR! Do not be fooled by the extensive list of activities either! The fire pits are beautiful... but the wood is not included in the high cost of your room, you must buy bundles of fast burning PINE from them, $7 a bundle. At the rate it burns if you want to hang out by the fire the cost really adds up. The heated pool, is pretty darn cold, and you're not allowed to use your room towels you must pay an addition price for pool/beach towels. The movie theater is a dusty, unkept, storage room with a pull down projector. The only thing I have to say is that unlike Many rooms in the lake George area it was very clean when we arrived and it did not have the usual smell of mildew. So there's the one star. If I were you I would reconsider reserving a room at the Juliana MOTEL. You can get a room with more privacy, and be right in the town of lake George for the same price. Thanks for nothing. Ps. I forgot to mention that the bed has to be the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. I ended up having to sleep on the pullout chair because even when I sleep on the ground (when we camp) my back doesn't hurt as bad as this when I wake up. read more

So I have been here twice and it's hard to give low rating as the view is gorgeous however the story goes on .... The Good : The lake view room, the deck and property on the lake. The Bad : The owner can be a dick. We stayed here for 4 night during "off season" weekdays and the place was dead and we and another older couple were the only ones on the property. After checkout we wanted to just relax by the lake for couple of hours but the owner rudely told us that we can't stay any longer. To me this was just bad customer service and made us feel very unwelcome. We would understand this if the resort was busy or was in season but the place was completely dead. Secondly, upon "checking in" they took my credit card and did not return it to me. I called back later that day to ask if they had my card and they said no. Then once I had already called the bank and reported it lost and cancelled the card the owner brings up the card to me the next night. This is sounds little fishy to me. The Ugly: We ran out of propane gas provided by the resort. The owner made me carry the can up and down the hilly property instead to dropping of using his golf cart. I can this to be an issue for older couples. Also there are no hair dryer , shampoo or ironing board in your room / cabin. After the most recent experience I would try another location. I would love to give business to this place but unfortunately it's a deal breaker. Lake George and Bolton Landing is swarming with plenty of alternatives. read more

Was very optimistic about staying here due to the good reviews, however we were gravely disappointed. The outdoor amenities, fire pits, beach, pool and swings were great, although Mother Nature did not play in our favor. However the room we stayed in #27 can greatly be improved on; the floors were spongy in several places, the AC is inadequate for the room size (our neighbors in #28 said their AC unit was in the bathroom!!!), the beds and pillows are horrendous. Nothing like lying down after a long day and finding no comfort in your pillow, but rather a dull pain in the neck/shoulder region from go and that's before the awful back pain in the morning after sleeping on the mattress. The beds are also built up on a frame, that has some type of tape around the corner edges to cushion the blow you get to your toes when walking by. The showers are also covered by an insert and have a bubble spongy feel to it. For whatever reason the game room that was offered on the website was never opened, surprising with all the families with kids (the staff couldn't understand why it wasn't open either). Tonight is our last night, it is drizzling out and overcast, we attempted to use the pool at 7:15, but the gate was locked. Inquiring at the desk and was told that they locked it due to rain previously, asked to have it opened, there was a delay and was then told it was after dusk, although we were allowed to swim past 8:00 a few days ago. For the extra dollars you spend on this place, we suggest trying somewhere else. Not worth the money by any means. read more

The Juliana is a great place to stay at! I bought the family here for labor day weekend i got a great price for the weekend and was surprised at all the awesome amenities the place has to offer. I visited the Juliana this past weekend. The accommodation was lovely, with 2 bedrooms, a living room, bathroom, and a kitchen inside, and a good sided porch with table, chairs, and a grill. The bed was super comfy, and the place was clean. The atmosphere here whilst we stayed was very relaxed, and peaceful. The swimming pool was very clean, and a good size. The beach connected to the property is cute, with a dock where we were able to go kayaking. The resort has kayaks available to rent, but we had our own blow up kayak that we tried for the first time there! It is roughly a 10 minute drive to lake george village where there is lots to do. The staff at the Juliana are friendly, and I feel anyone would have a great time here (children, families, adults). I would highly recommend!!!! read more

Stay here if you want to feel like a child again and by that I mean everything you do will be abnormally controlled by the owner. The good part of this " resort" as they like to call themselves is that there is private beach. The rest is bad. Let me start with check-in. I called the day before to see what time we can get to the " resort"and was told I can come at 1 and they will have a room ready. We get a call at 11:30am , when we are almost there that actually we can't check in until 3. Okay no big deal. We get there and think okay we will lay on the beach. We go to explore the beach and get a call from the owner that we are not allowed to have are cars parked here because he needs the spots, so we must leave until 3. This makes no sense as his guests check out by 10, and when we came back the parking lot was still mostly empty. The accommodations are below average. It looks like it was built in 1950 and has not been updated since. I was scared to touch anything or walk around bare foot. Everything has the old look and smell. The shower pressure is 0, and sheets are not as nice or as clean as I would like for 200 a night. And it gets better. We asked him for recommendations, and he was very unhelpful. When he kicked us out before our check in we asked how to get to a hiking trail. He happily gave us directions, and we followed. It took us to a water tower, with a gate that said keep out. We had to stop and ask at the town center, and it turned out where he told us to go was not even close to the hiking trail. Fine, not a huge deal, although it would be nice to get recommendations from the person at the front desk of a hotel. We tried this one more time and he suggested another place that didn't exist. He said go walk along the beach on Bolton landing. We got there and asked where there is a beach path to walk on, there was none. So either Eric ( the hotel owner/ person at the front desk) has never left the hotel or is a complete idiot. The last thing, when we went to check out. Check out is at 10am. We packed everything and we're ready by 8:30am. We asked him can we check out and stay on the beach for a few hours( say until 1, which is 2 hours hours before check in). He absolutely wouldn't hear of it, and was very rude. To summarize: the customer service is very bad, the owner is not accommodating at all, and facilities are very old. read more

Friendly helpful staff and the grounds were nicely kept. We stayed in the smallest room they have (#28) but for two people it was fine and housekeeper Mary came and cleaned daily. Next time we plan to stay in a larger room but will certainly go back! read more

Wonderful secluded and quiet resort. Great for families or couples, or anyone in fact. The view of the lake is gorgeous and there is a private beach. The yard overall is beautiful. There is also a fire pit right on the beach. The resort is located not too far from the lake george village/town, as well as Bolton landing which was very convenient when we wanted to head to town or explore other areas. Parking in the resort was not an issue although we stayed memorial weekend, which was pretty busy. The rooms were clean and cozy. It was my first visit to lake George, and my boyfriend has been staying at the Juliana ever since he was little. Now, I cannot imagine switching resorts either. We absolutely love this place and look forward to coming back. Also, the staff and owner are very friendly. The only thing that i felt odd about the rooms were that the basic needs were not provided, such as shampoo conditioner blow dryer etc. You have to bring your own- but besides that I highly recommend the Juliana to anyone staying in lake George!!! read more
