The nicest welcome center I've ever stepped into. The center opened in 1999 and is opens daily from…read more7am to 7pm; there were employees there to assist with any questions. The structure is beautiful and looked like a barn; it was nicely decorated and showcased Vermont as a whole. The restrooms were large and clean; they had changing tables which was a plus. They had a large patio area with many seats. There was even a playground. Parking was plentiful. We went in September around 6:30 pm and outside near the playground, there were a ton of mosquitos. We had to run out of there lol. Overall, it's a great spot to stop and stretch your legs if you're in the area.

Everyone working there was helpful, especially the woman at the main counter. She pulled out some maps and booklets and highlighted some covered bridges we were looking for and suggested a deli near one of them. Sometimes, digital maps and internet access to these things are nice for planning, as we had, but a good old fashioned paper map of the area highlighted by a local, can still be helpful in decision making. The rest rooms were very nice and there was some art in the display room. But the traditional post and beam construction was the main attraction. The parking was ample. Do stop here, whether you need help or not, it was well worth seeing. It truly is a Welcome Center to a very beautiful state.
