There are several play areas which allow dogs to be separated as needed. All of the staff are attentive and understanding of the dogs' needs. They are able to be flexible with times and dates. One of my dogs came from a terrible situation, and is very anxious. They pay close attention to him, and have helped him gain more social skills with both humans and dogs. He wags his tail when he arrives now, and I used to have to coax him out of the car. My other dog is extremely high energy. He is always tired when he gets home! He has been boarded at this facility, and the staff were able to provide him with his required medications during his stay. Oral reports of the dogs' days are provided upon pick up. The staff always greet my dogs by name, and they know which leashes/other things belong to each dog at the end of the day. They are always friendly and welcoming. I have recommended this facility to several other people. I have recommended it to puppies, adult dogs, and other dogs with significant needs. Pictures of daycare are shares on their Facebook page. It is fun to see your dog having such a great time in such a great environment. I feel at ease leaving both of my dogs in the care of the Pampered Paw Resort, and will continue to use their facility.

It has taken me weeks to get up the strength to write this review. I write this with a heavy heart…read morebecause it resulted in the loss of our girl. I want to start by saying that our dogs have stayed at this kennel on a handful of occasions without incident; however, our last stay was not one of those visits. We dropped our two dogs off at Guten Morgen Kennels for a week-long stay in June 2023. After a long week, so excited to see them, we picked them up first thing Saturday morning not knowing the sadness the next few days would bring. As soon as we arrived home and got out of the car both dogs peed so much, how was that possible considering it was around 10 a.m.? Bringing them in the house both drank like they hadn't had water for some time. My husband and I were very troubled about both of those findings. After being home and settling in we noticed that both were very snotty and were sneezing. Our dogs have never had a sniffle so this was instantly alarming. Both got a bath and we kept a close eye on them over the next day. Monday morning I immediately called my vet to get both of them in for an appointment. Our Frenchie was significantly worse than our Mastiff. Our vet instructed me to head directly to the ER because she was very concerned about her respiratory system. Because she is a French Bulldog she was at risk for serious complications. Our Mastiff was put on antibiotics. Both dogs were diagnosed with kennel cough. Over the next few days, multiple antibiotics, and a stay in the hospital our Frenchie lost her battle with the illness due to complications. We were and continue to be in complete devastation. This wasn't supposed to happen. We just went on vacation. I alerted Teena Monday morning after speaking to my vet that the dogs were very sick and that our Frenchie was headed to the ER and our Mastiff was on an antibiotic. As soon as I heard the ER suspected kennel cough I relayed that information to Teena. I felt it was my responsibility to keep her in the loop so that no other dog got sick and another family didn't have to experience what we were. I was unclear how it could be kennel cough, as our dogs had all of their shots. Unaware that the dogs could still contract kennel cough even with the vaccine because of the different strains. The day that we lost our Frenchie the ER doctor called us with the results of her respiratory test. She tested positive for the Canine Herpes Virus Type 1. What????? In a state of sadness and anger, I relayed the message to Teena. At that time I couldn't even talk and sent the news via text. Thursday I received a call from her, many things were said on her end, I was numb. I heard a lot of excuses and even accusations that maybe our dog carried the virus. If either of our dogs carried the virus they would have shown symptoms previously. Again, they have never had any respiratory illnesses or symptoms at the ages of 9.5 and 5. Our dogs never went around other dogs. They were home with us all the time. They didn't go to the park, no play dates, only Guten Morgen when we had to go out of town. The kennel was instructed to not allow our dogs to play with others due to our Mastiff having an ACL injury. That was the biggest excuse. How could they get sick there if they didn't interact with other dogs? Good question, we are asking ourselves the same thing. Germs are germs and when asked, medical professionals agreed that the dogs had to have contracted the virus at the only place they were for 7 days. Our emergency contact (our daughter) should have been contacted immediately, but she wasn't. We were told they had no symptoms at the kennel. How could symptoms magically appear when we got home after being gone for 7 days? We couldn't continue to do the back-and-forth any longer, I ended communication via text. After expressing all of our feelings over the situation and the loss of our sweet girl, incurring over 6k in medical expenses for both dogs, I suggested that the least she could do was to refund our boarding fees. To date, this hasn't happened. I personally had two friends that had their dogs staying at the kennel during the time our dogs were there. They were never contacted to say that there were two very sick dogs and one resulted in a death. I was told that the other dog parents were contacted, some may have been, but my friends were not. If my dogs were in the same facility as another sick dog, I would expect to be notified immediately and would want to know what precautions were taken to prevent the spread. We are angry and still in disbelief. Things happen, we get that, but to take no ownership when the fact are the facts; medical test results are what they are............. As dog parents, we felt it was necessary to write this review to assist others in helping them when making a decision on where to send their fur babies.

    Paw & Order Dog Training

    Paw & Order Dog Training

I have met the Dog Whisperer…read more In January, 2021, my wife and I picked up our 8-week old Labradoodle from the breeder and named her Maggie Mae. After an extensive search we decided to use Paw & Order as a trainer. We contacted their Pittsburgh office and because of our location, they recommended their new Washington, PA operation owned by Christie Kelly. We met with Christie and were pleased with her experience, personality and explanation of her training procedures. We agreed on the In-Home program and training began in April, 2021. Leading up to the training, Maggie was a bursting with energy, difficult to control, fundamentally WILD puppy. Once the training began, we felt that we had a different dog. Christie's ability to adapt her training methods to our puppy's personality was remarkable to experience. After each lesson, like heel, place, sit, stay and so on, Christie would give us a print out of the follow up exercises that we needed to reinforce the lesson. When we had a setback, Christie was quick to identify the cause and gave us a constructive solution to correct the problem. We would text, email or call Christie with a question or issue and, it didn't matter whether it was a weekend, evening or holiday, she responded. Over the weeks of training, she would call, unsolicited, to check in on how our training was progressing. Christie's knowledge and understanding of a dog's unique needs, whether shy, aggressive, hyperactive, or whatever, is remarkable. Add to that, her love and care for each of the dogs she has in the training program, and you have someone very special taking care of your most cherished pet. Maggie is now over a year old and a wonderful, loving, well mannered companion. She is responsive to "almost" every command...still working on greeting visitors to our home occasionally. She is an amazing addition to our lives and I attribute it all to Christie Kelly and Paw & Order. She truly is a dog whisper! As a side note, we have had 2 dogs prior to Maggie. I always felt that we could train our dog and that professional trainers were too expensive. Wow, was I wrong. What I never realized that, yes, the investment is a lot, but when you think of that investment over the 10 or 15 years of your pet's life, well, it isn't all that much for a well behaved, disciplined, and happy pet. Christie, thank you so very much!!! Oh, and Maggie thanks you too!!!
