A Life-Changing Experience with McWreath Dog Training!…read more I can't say enough good things about Chelsea, the founder and owner of McWreath Dog Training! When Loki and I first came to Chelsea, we were both an anxious mess--me, not knowing how to help my pup, and Loki, struggling with walks, car rides, and the everyday stresses of life. Fast forward to now, and the transformation is nothing short of incredible: ‍ Loki walks more calmly by my side. He's confident enough to enjoy the local dog park and make new friends! Long car trips? No problem! Everyday errands around town? A breeze. Chelsea didn't just train Loki; she trained us as a team. Her patience, expertise, and genuine care for both dogs and their owners made all the difference. Loki is happier, more relaxed, and thriving in ways I never thought possible. Loki even used their Boarding facilities when we took a trip to Europe for 10 days. He had tons of fun meeting and playing with all the other pups there, in a structured setting and fully supervised. (with videos and photos too) If you're feeling overwhelmed with your dog's behavior, I wholeheartedly recommend McWreath Dog Training. Chelsea has truly given us the tools and confidence to enjoy life together to the fullest! Thank you, Chelsea, for changing our lives! Loki and I are forever grateful.

I needed to locate a trainer near Washington, PA to help my Mother and her new puppy. Even though…read moreI live outside the area, I received Warrick K-9 from a referral of a local friend. This was the best experience and SO much more than I had hoped for. The trainer was able to break bad habits, correct misbehavior, and teach a 4-month old pup to comply with SIT, STAY, DOWN, go to PLACE and more. Because of my Mom's physical limitations, the dog is comfortable taking commands from a person in a standing or seated position AND she understands how to walk safely to avoid trips and falls with a cane or walker. We used the Board and Train option and it was just great. Truly, this was a bargain when compared to many of the other local trainer rates and services. It allowed the best outcome for cementing the desired behaviors into our little girl. She is so pleased with herself each time she does something correctly, it is a joy to watch. And my Mother enjoys the new relationship that she now has with her dog, which is motivating her to continue the routine. This is about so much more than "obedience", it has provided my Mom with an opportunity to relax and enjoy time together with her dog and to have more understanding of how to make time for what they both need and want. My Mom and her dog now have a chance to become wonderful companions to each other. I don't believe this would have been possible without the work of Warrick K-9 and Rachel.

I had such positive training experience with Paw & Order. They help me understand a lot of how to…read moreeffectively communicate with my teenage pup and supported me to safely use tools and better understand them. They have a safe environment and trainers that are able to provide my pup socialized skills, clarity in communication and time that I wasn't able to provide him with. Elissa is so kind, patient and very supportive. Honestly, all their trainers are so passionate about dogs, they care about them so much and advocate for the dog's success, they will all help you to become a better and responsible dog parent. I LOVE that they help me strengthen the bond with my beloved one and there for me all the way through (super responsive!) My pup came home more confident, focus and happy. He is now a proud CGC pup, were able to enjoy our outings safely together and have a great start to discover all the adventures life throws our way. The best part is that we will have their support for life, join the community and learn about more training to bond our relationship in a healthy way. The upsetting part was that I wished I had known and started with them and not waste my money on other trainings prior! I'm definitely coming back here when I get my second dog. It's SO worth it.

My husband and I contacted Paw & Order to inquire about training our anxious dog to go to the…read morebathroom outside rather than inside our house. Paw & Order had some availability for an in-home consultation that would last about 1.5 hours and cost $100. The trainer was named Jamie, and she arrived at our house on time. She had a pleasant personality, and she talked in depth with us about our dog's behaviors and her proposed training techniques. She spent most of the time talking with my husband and me, and she observed my dog only for a couple of minutes in a bed and on the front stoop. Jamie said that Paw & Order uses balanced training that combines positive reinforcement (e.g., adding a desirable stimulus to increase a behavior), negative reinforcement (e.g., removing an aversive stimulus to increase a behavior), positive punishment (e.g., adding an aversive stimulus to reduce a behavior), and negative punishment (e.g., removing a desirable stimulus to reduce behavior). Jamie said that she would initially use positive reinforcement (e.g., a door bell and a lure stick) with my dog to build her confidence. Then she would consider using a choke collar, a prong collar, and an e-collar that feels tingly. She said that she probably would not use the prong collar, but my husband and I would need to consent to using the other collars. At the end of the consultation, Jamie gave us a contract to consider signing. The contract said that we would receive 4-5 sessions within 6 months of the start date, and lessons would typically be scheduled every couple of weeks. The total cost would be $1,835. We would be required to send a weekly text or email about the dog's behavior as well as upload a video showing each household member working with the dog. In the end, my husband and I ended up not hiring Paw & Order to train our dog. (Our adoption contract with the animal shelter had prohibited choke chains, prong collars, and shock collars, and the shelter employee specifically mentioned to not use this company.) I, however, do feel thankful that Jamie gave us some useful training tips, such as using hotdogs, a bell, and a lure stick.

Was told by awful employee my dog should be EUTHANIZED because she had her chance to be a somewhat…read morenormal dog and failed: I'm hoping every person thinking of doing business with this place or seeking help for their animal thinks twice and not waste their time. I had a horrific experience with a woman named Nancy when seeking help for my dog. My dog is a senior and has a host of medical issues including canine cognitive dysfunction (doggie dementia), difficulty eating and drinking (due to her dementia), and anxiety and depression, just to name a few of the things she struggles with. Our vet thinks she may have a brain tumor that is making her symptoms worse and she needs an MRI to confirm that but unfortunately I can't afford it. Putting my dog to sleep has come up in conversation but she's only 7 and there are medications for canine dementia and tests (like an MRI) that could possibly help her get better that we haven't tried yet because of my poor financial situation. I don't believe I should stop fighting for my dog or euthanize her just because I have run out of funds and dont have the means to be her primary caretaker anymore. I've been looking for places that specialize in senior dog care, care for animals with disabilities, and care for animals in a vulnerable time in their life. All of this was shared in my inquiry about possibly getting help, along with that my dog means everything to me. I assume most people reading this are animal lovers and have or had a pet that is precious to them and want the best for. No one should be attacked for wanting the best for their animal and people should know thats what happens at AR. On Angel Ridge's About page it says their mission is "To provide a permanent home and care for animals that are abandoned, aged, or handicapped with the ultimate goal of re-homing them. Animals who are not re-homed may live out their lives at Angel Ridge." It goes on to say animals should be recognized as "essential and beloved companions" and further states animals are "assessed by dedicated volunteers and staff for veterinary and behavioral needs." I wrongfully thought this place could be an option to help my dog as she's a senior, special needs and would benefit from medical help. I thought this because they specifically stated they specialized in caring for those types of animals AND provided medical care for them. I was told by Nancy that my dog "has been given many opportunities to become a somewhat normal dog" ...as if its my dogs fault for being sick! This was an insane unhinged judgment to make. With 0 compassion she said my dog cannot be fixed and that she is not at peace. I would've loved to know Angel Ridge's philosophy was actually that "some dogs can't be fixed" and to blame the animal for not being "somewhat normal". I wouldn't have even bothered in the first place. I was then viscously told "You knew what needs to happen-Just looking for someone else to blame-You needed the response that I gave". No remorse, no acknowledgment of how disgusting and nasty she had been to me, just stood behind her disturbing behavior and treatment of me (a person who reached out seeking help for her dog based on misleading lies written on the website). Not sure who I'm trying to blame either. I'm looking for help and a higher level of care for my sweet dog and made that crystal clear. This person is sick and unstable and shouldn't work at a place that cares for elderly, sick, abused, and overall vulnerable animals if the first thought that crosses her mind when someone reaches out for help is that it's the animals fault for being sick, elderly, abused, etc. and they've 'had their chance to prove to be normal' implying they should be euthanized if they can't do that. Egregious. she could've simply said they couldn't take my dog instead of harassing me for searching for help. I fear for people and animals that cross paths with this woman and hope this can be used as a warning for others to STAY AWAY and not make the mistake I did by reaching out in the first place. For a place that claims all animals should be recognized as essential and beloved, I'll tell you one thing, having bitter employees/volunteers like this woman, is not getting that message across.

I have found Angel Ridge to be sincere in their efforts to save, rescue, and provide posititive futures for some of the most abused, unwanted, injured and mistreated animals. At times when I didnt see a positive outcome, the volunteers stay committed to showing love and compassion to the rescues~ most often resulting in a huge break thru, and eventually placement in a loving home~ a home ready and willing to continue the work of helping their new fur baby learn to love and trust humans. It's humans that have let the animals down, and it's Angel Ridge volunteers that repair that damage. I am proud to be a vounteer for Angel Ridge Animal Rescue and plan to continue here. Please check it out for yourself, you will see the compassion and commitment also.
