PetSmart is a national retail-store chain that sells products for cats, dogs, fish, birds, reptiles, and other pets. Products include foods, treats, medications, accessories, pet furniture, etc. Furthermore, PetSmart offers services such as a veterinarian, dog-training, and dog and cat grooming. I shopped in this particular PetSmart in Washington, PA. This store offered many but not all of the name brands that my cats like. Compared to the competitor Chewy's prices, this store's prices were similar to higher. I purchased several flavors of cat foods. At the checkout counter, the cashier performed their job well. Furthermore, on this particular day, a local animal shelter was holding a dog-adoption event. We did not see any dogs to adopt, but we appreciated the event. read more

I told them about a dead betta in one of the cups and they didn't care at all they laughed it off saying they didn't mean for me to see it. I couldn't believe that, they treat fish like trash and it makes me so sad :/ read more

Terrible place. They don't know how to handle huskies or big dogs. I drove 40min on a work day to get her done and they called me back and told me they can't take her because she's yappie and won't sit still (which is was huskies do). I made an appointment 5 days in advance, and they didn't take her. Do not go to this place you'll regret it. read more

This is the second time this PetSmart canceled my dog's grooming appointment. I drive 30 minutes one way. They told me my dog wouldn't cooperate with them. This was after I waited (with an already nervous dog) for 10-15 minutes for the groomer to arrive. She rushed with my dog, showing little patience and then claimed it was my dog's fault. I would never ask a groomer to take risks, but they should show they care and be professional. That's their job! And dogs can see right through any pretense. The last time they canceled it was due to a records mixup. I'm done wasting my time with them. I won't go back. read more

I stopped in this morning to get a new snail for the fish tank and another overpriced sack of food for my ungrateful cats to eat and vomit up. ( I kid, I love them.) I walked into the fish department, where an employee was working at a rolling stand. I said hello to her, went right to the tanks 3 feet away from her and found the snail I needed in just a few short moments. When I turned back to where the employee was stationed, she had left. I waited for a bit, assuming she would just be gone a moment. After a while I had to ring for her. When she eventually returned I asked for the snail and was pleasant with her, not wishing to be another creepy Karen statistic in her tictoc feed. The fish department isn't one of the places in this store where you can just grab what you want and go. If a customer speaks to you and immediately presses her nose up against the glass of an aquarium, anyone would think that this person is probably a someone needing help to make a purchase. A quick "If you need anything, let me know" from this employee would have gone a long way. I have been avoiding physical stores for the most part, as I am getting more and more disgusted with dealing with employees who would just assume the customers would leave them alone. I spent decades doing jobs I hated, and I learned early on that you do not treat the customer like they were an inconvenience. The only other employee I encountered was the cashier, who was pleasant and efficient. Get your act together, Petsmart. Train your employees. And while you're at it, stop keeping dangerous small animal products on the shelves. read more

Signed my puppy up for the puppy training course and tried two weeks and that is all I can handle. The dog "trainer" speaks to the owners like they are idiots and has a very controlling disposition, which doesn't pair well with dealing with puppies that are getting distracted by lots of things. It should have been a big red flag when they said they owned cats. I have owned dogs before and never had trainers that speak to owners in condescending tone and are more concerned with lecturing pet parents not to use additional words when they are training their dogs than they are about the dogs actually doing the required behavior. No one needs this in their life. I will definitely be taking my dog elsewhere. read more

Leah did a really beautiful job with grooming my cavalier! I had a negative experience with my sweet girl at a different PetSmart location who hacked the outside of her ears and made them short and choppy even though I brushed them, but because she had a cavalier herself, she groomed her perfectly. I had added on one package to the grooming appointment but she recommended adding the Furminator package, and it really made a huge difference. We will be back to see Leah for future grooming! read more

My favorite store for all our pet needs ! The staff is always friendly, they offer a huge selection of food/pet care items/toys alike. My kiddos love coming in to look at the fish, critters, and dogs that patrons can bring into the store from home. They offer grooming, pet training, and a pet hospital - I've never used the services but it's very convenient all in one location. read more

My dog is skittish so unfortunately we weren't able to get the nails clipped which I appreciate them stopping instead of trying to continue to do it for everyone's safety, but what I wasn't impressed with was that I was sitting on the bench and instead of someone coming out to get me they tapped on the window at me that you can't see through if you are sitting down unless you look through the little bubbles. I thought they were tapping at one of the other 4 people that were in the same area as me and the knocking at me occurred 3 separate times before I finally realized that it was me they were trying to get the attention of when the groomer put her head in the small bubble and motioned her finger at me to come in. I just found that to be very rude and unprofessional. read more

This not my PetSmart, but my in-laws. I guess I am used to how my PetSmart operates. We have walk-in nail clipping. I have never waited longer than 15 minutes for my dog to be called and they are always done within 10 minutes. We had to wait 35 minutes before my mom-in-law's dog was called in. It then took over 20 minutes for them to finish the dog. They also do not give baths during the day. (This to me is crazy. Really? It is the best time for parents to run around while kids are in school.) They are after 4:00pm. At least, that is what they told me. This PetSmart is inconvenient for busy people, imo. read more

Only leaving a star to review. Despicable care for betta fish who shouldn't be in a dish like that anyhow but most looked like they're just about dead. Several had fin rot, swim bladder or what appeared to be a bacterial infection. Some of the water was blue and dingy with feces or just plain filled with feces. I found one dead and decaying in it's pee yellow water of a cup. These stores need to take better care of the fish they're selling people! read more

Rude cashier (but the manager fixed her lack of caring/correcting the items rang up wrong with a refund). Grooming doesn't greet you or the fur babies with much interest. They didn't complete the requested grooming on 3 out of 4 of my babies. They charged extra claiming they brushed/de tangled my SHORT HAIR cats that were shaved bald!! They did not shave the legs or stomach of the cats (only the backs and tails). I specially requested legs/feet and entire body be shaved. They claimed my dog was snipping at them (this dog NEVER snips at ANYONE... 10 years old and NO grooming problems anywhere except here!!)! That tells me they were mishandling or making her uncomfortable in some way (not required for grooming as no other groomers have made her uncomfortable)! read more

I have shopped at this location, and others (west mifflin and uniontown) and have never experienced a good visit. No one knows anything. Everyone, including managers, have a piss poor attitude. I stopped frequenting petsmarts for a while, but when I heard the washington location was under new management I figured I would give them another shot. I was pleasantly surprised by all of my experiences since returning to the washington location. The new manager might look young, but it's clear she knows what she is doing and is making a difference. The workers are finally friendly. They know what they are talking about. I feel like I am comfortable getting what I need from one place now, and it is this petsmart. I attempted another location recently, incorrectly thinking all petsmarts have changed, but I was clearly wrong. I have been a loyal customer to washington petsmart since August and I don't see that changing anytime soon. read more

Drove 20 miles for grooming and forgot a paper so got told it's policy they couldn't do anything for me when I said I could bring that paper when I come to pick him up. But policy is policy yet a petsmart in California said " okay just remember to bring it with you when you come pick him up!" Guess it's time to support the non major pet groomers in the area. read more

Went to the Washington pa store for freshwater fish to add to my 5 year old sons new 55 gal aquarium. We met Scott who was cleaning the fish tanks. We already had some fish picked out that my son wanted. Scott went over our choices, and explained some of the cat fish could eat the smaller fish in our tank. He then helped my son pic out a less aggressive type of catfish. Scott was very knowledgeable about types of fish and fish care. He answered all our questions and more importantly spoke to my son in a way a 5 year old could understand. read more

AWFUL attitudes! Awful service. I have used PetSmart groomers for years. It hasn't been great but they treated my dog and his special issues ok. I have left without ears being cleaned, teeth not cleaned and nails not groomed. When I call they will not credit me for the CHARGED service! On their recommendation I scheduled an off day and came in early because they shave my dog in chunked periods of time. Today they REFUSED. No warning, no come in early to let us see. JUST CANCELLED! Last time they shaved him there was a LARGE patch that didn't grow in for months. HORRIBLE SERVICE. HORRIBLE groomers. read more
