A Life-Changing Experience with McWreath Dog Training!…read more I can't say enough good things about Chelsea, the founder and owner of McWreath Dog Training! When Loki and I first came to Chelsea, we were both an anxious mess--me, not knowing how to help my pup, and Loki, struggling with walks, car rides, and the everyday stresses of life. Fast forward to now, and the transformation is nothing short of incredible: ‍ Loki walks more calmly by my side. He's confident enough to enjoy the local dog park and make new friends! Long car trips? No problem! Everyday errands around town? A breeze. Chelsea didn't just train Loki; she trained us as a team. Her patience, expertise, and genuine care for both dogs and their owners made all the difference. Loki is happier, more relaxed, and thriving in ways I never thought possible. Loki even used their Boarding facilities when we took a trip to Europe for 10 days. He had tons of fun meeting and playing with all the other pups there, in a structured setting and fully supervised. (with videos and photos too) If you're feeling overwhelmed with your dog's behavior, I wholeheartedly recommend McWreath Dog Training. Chelsea has truly given us the tools and confidence to enjoy life together to the fullest! Thank you, Chelsea, for changing our lives! Loki and I are forever grateful.

This was the best experience and SO much more than I had hoped for. The trainer was able to break bad habits, correct misbehavior, and teach a 4-month old pup to comply with SIT, STAY, DOWN, go to PLACE and more. Because of my Mom's physical limitations, the dog is comfortable taking commands from a person in a standing or seated position AND she understands how to walk safely to avoid trips and falls with a cane or walker. We used the Board and Train option and it was just great. Truly, this was a bargain when compared to many of the other local trainer rates and services. It allowed the best outcome for cementing the desired behaviors into our little girl. She is so pleased with herself each time she does something correctly, it is a joy to watch. And my Mother enjoys the new relationship that she now has with her dog, which is motivating her to continue the routine. This is about so much more than "obedience", it has provided my Mom with an opportunity to relax and enjoy time together with her dog and to have more understanding of how to make time for what they both need and want. My Mom and her dog now have a chance to become wonderful companions to each other. I don't believe this would have been possible without the work of Warrick K-9 and Rachel.

I have met the Dog Whisperer…read more In January, 2021, my wife and I picked up our 8-week old Labradoodle from the breeder and named her Maggie Mae. After an extensive search we decided to use Paw & Order as a trainer. We contacted their Pittsburgh office and because of our location, they recommended their new Washington, PA operation owned by Christie Kelly. We met with Christie and were pleased with her experience, personality and explanation of her training procedures. We agreed on the In-Home program and training began in April, 2021. Leading up to the training, Maggie was a bursting with energy, difficult to control, fundamentally WILD puppy. Once the training began, we felt that we had a different dog. Christie's ability to adapt her training methods to our puppy's personality was remarkable to experience. After each lesson, like heel, place, sit, stay and so on, Christie would give us a print out of the follow up exercises that we needed to reinforce the lesson. When we had a setback, Christie was quick to identify the cause and gave us a constructive solution to correct the problem. We would text, email or call Christie with a question or issue and, it didn't matter whether it was a weekend, evening or holiday, she responded. Over the weeks of training, she would call, unsolicited, to check in on how our training was progressing. Christie's knowledge and understanding of a dog's unique needs, whether shy, aggressive, hyperactive, or whatever, is remarkable. Add to that, her love and care for each of the dogs she has in the training program, and you have someone very special taking care of your most cherished pet. Maggie is now over a year old and a wonderful, loving, well mannered companion. She is responsive to "almost" every command...still working on greeting visitors to our home occasionally. She is an amazing addition to our lives and I attribute it all to Christie Kelly and Paw & Order. She truly is a dog whisper! As a side note, we have had 2 dogs prior to Maggie. I always felt that we could train our dog and that professional trainers were too expensive. Wow, was I wrong. What I never realized that, yes, the investment is a lot, but when you think of that investment over the 10 or 15 years of your pet's life, well, it isn't all that much for a well behaved, disciplined, and happy pet. Christie, thank you so very much!!! Oh, and Maggie thanks you too!!!

My experience here could not have been better. I did loads of research on trainers prior to making…read moremy decision, as I had specific issues I needed to work on with my dog, Gus. I wanted to be involved in the training along the way because part of my struggle had been establishing dominance/ taking the lead. I wanted to be working on that dynamic from the beginning, not just trying to take over once someone else trained him. Sit Means Sit was the perfect blend of introducing concepts to both me and my dog, setting the foundations with repetition (took some of the legwork off my plate), and then after each session practicing with both me and my dog to assure we were understanding. My at home lesson was invaluable. Talking through our issues in the space where they are occurring was crucial for customized tips. Some concepts are difficult to implement in certain setups, and Lisa was genius at thinking of alternatives. It can also be hard to describe what's going on without seeing it. The at home lesson gave that opportunity and Lisa was able to understand my dog's excitement and not only better explain his actions to me, but also she was able to suggest more creative ways to work with him in our unique space. Before training, Gus was next to impossible to walk. I'd spend 30 minutes standing in one spot waiting for him to calm down and give me attention. He pulled me so hard once going after another dog, he completely took me down. After training we are able to enjoy walks at my pace (not a constant sprint ). That's just one highlight of the improvement Sit Means Sit accomplished with my big ball of pure energy. I had such a wonderful experience with all the trainers I worked with. Christina had a great sense of humor that I looked forward to during our sessions with Gus. Someone who can laugh with you about how awkward you look and feel learning new concepts is a gem. Evan was like an accidental therapist who you don't mean to spill your guts to, but you do because his energy is so calm and understanding. THESE are the types of people you want working with your family pet, and with YOU. I can get tense training my dog, but they put me at ease the entire time. Additionally, Alicia was remarkably accommodating to my insane schedule and always able to promptly connect with me and figure out how to get me in. I'm a sucker for customer service and Alicia's bubbly personality is a perfect fit. I was so impressed with SMS, I signed up for puppy class, too. I know training can be an expensive investment and you want to be sure it's worth it-- this is worth it. Don't waste money doing multiple other trainings that don't quite click because they are more affordable. Do it right the first time here!

She did however have a terrible habit of pulling (think of a sleigh dog. That's what she looked like while pulling us, ugh) Enough was enough. Eventually we would have gotten hurt or she could have gotten lose & hurt herself / another dog. She also showed aggression towards other dogs and growls, barks and pulled even harder than normal. Inside she was a princess and outside she looked like a mean evil pitbull. It made us as dog owners look bad. Plus, we couldn't enjoy our summer with an uncontrollable dog. We decided to head to a free consultation. We were referred here by the owners husband. After the consultation they said most likely she won't need a harness anymore, only a leash. I laughed on inside. Guess what.... They were right. Since training, we've only needed a collar.. No more harness! We did the 3 day training program which meant penny would get dropped off here and spend 8 hours with a trainer 1 on 1. It also includes 1 day at home which was very helpful & 3 months of group classes which are 2x a week. They took videos of her training and sent them to us. In the videos they explained what they were doing and why it worked. We can always look back on those videos if needed. That's very helpful! The price seemed steep at first but essentially you are getting 3+ months of training for the price. Peace of mind knowing my dog is safe is priceless. Linda and Bridget did an excellent job. Penny Is more controllable now and doesn't pull on the leash. Group classes will really benefit her and I can't wait to start. I'm thankful for sit means sit. I used to dread walks and we couldn't even do fun stuff like the parks or camping. Now, we can finally have fun with our dog. Most importantly, she is much more safe since we can control her.

There are several play areas which allow dogs to be separated as needed. All of the staff are attentive and understanding of the dogs' needs. They are able to be flexible with times and dates. One of my dogs came from a terrible situation, and is very anxious. They pay close attention to him, and have helped him gain more social skills with both humans and dogs. He wags his tail when he arrives now, and I used to have to coax him out of the car. My other dog is extremely high energy. He is always tired when he gets home! He has been boarded at this facility, and the staff were able to provide him with his required medications during his stay. Oral reports of the dogs' days are provided upon pick up. The staff always greet my dogs by name, and they know which leashes/other things belong to each dog at the end of the day. They are always friendly and welcoming. I have recommended this facility to several other people. I have recommended it to puppies, adult dogs, and other dogs with significant needs. Pictures of daycare are shares on their Facebook page. It is fun to see your dog having such a great time in such a great environment.
