Haircuts aren't cheap, and I came in for a trim and to get rid of split ends. I voiced that I didn't want to lose a lot of length (I have curly hair so length is important) and how my hair does better when it's cut dry so we can see the split ends. The hairdresser I was working with did some initial cuts and then told me to wait while she went to prepare the hair wash station. While she was gone I noticed there was a good amount of split ends I could still see and so I pointed this out when she came back, basically asking her to take another look. She told me that there would always be split ends because she "doesn't have time to look thoroughly" which felt weird since I am quite literally paying for your time to help with this. Just rubbed me the wrong way a bit, I found even more split ends when I was done. I think it has to do with expectation management -- just tell me how based on my hair and the split ends we might have to lose more length than I anticipated so I can plan or figure out what matters most.

The only negative is the location they have to do eyebrows: depending on the time of day the sun is fully shining in your face so even though you have your eyes closed to get your brows done you'll still get blinded before/after. I've always made my appointments online, which is great. If you want to schedule with a specific person, you may have to do it ahead of time, but I always just sign up for whatever appointment is available for the time I want. I've never had an issue getting an appointment for the time I want.

I get these lashes that are too long for my eyelashes, so they don't look right. And they're straight. So they're starting to curl unnaturally, and curl into each other. Plus, so many had fallen out after a week I had get them refilled. Luckily, I went elsewhere and they were able to get me done correctly. If you have eyelashes that are different from long and straight, beware!

Every single time I went to get my hair done it was dyed a different shade of dark brown(even though on my 1st visit we agreed on a color). Amy also didn't dye my hair in sections, which I now know is the correct way to color hair. When dying my hair she would just put the color on quickly without separating my hair into sections and then put me under a heater, which I now know isn't done with just regular hair coloring. My hair was colored so lazily AND half of my gray hairs weren't even covered. She would tell me that it was impossible to get every strand of hair colored since I had such thick hair! Wrong! It just takes some time and patience to get the job done. I stuck with her way longer than I should of hoping she would improve and get better eventually. I always voiced my concerns about the lack of coverage and the different shades of color, however she always brushed them off and assured me that it wasn't the case. The last time I got my hair dyed, my hair was more red than dark brown and of course, I didn't want her to recolor my hair since I didn't know what color I'd end up with. I asked for a refund within the week and she refused to refund my money. I stayed way too long unhappily as her client, hoping for improvement that never came. If you want your hair to have consistent coloring every time and you want your roots or gray hairs covered...Amy is not your stylist.

Melissa has a way of working with the eyelash in a way that preserves their health and leaves them seemingly untouched upon removal. One should be very, very cautious in whom they trust when dealing with their lashes. If you come here, you're protected. An entertaining conversationalist as well, she has a way of making the long appointment go by quickly and seamlessly, with the finale of full, impeccable lashes --with quite the lengthy lifespan if you care for them properly-- that are well worth the investment. Even in Manhattan or LA, I've yet to find work paralleled to hers, nor a specialist who cares as much as she does. She's magic and a total babe.

The staff were also willing to respect my request to be masked during my appointment, and all equipment was either disposed or sanitized after my visit.
