My experience here was disappointing…read more I made an appointment for a consultation for a laser treatment for sun spots, since I saw on the Total Body and Laser website that they advertised a specific laser I was interested in using. At the consultation the staff member informed me that they did not have the laser listed on their website, but instead have the Picosure laser. I asked whether Picosure was ablative or non-ablative and the staff member did not know. I went home and did my own research about the laser. I booked an appointment for sun spot treatment with Picosure. At the appointment, I was quoted $350 for treating the spots. I said okay and the staff member treated one spot on my face and a few on my legs. The treatment lasted under 15 minutes. Throughout the visit, there are many signs prompting customers to pay a gratuity. At checkout, I was prompted to pay a gratuity via the CC machine. I am happy to pay a gratuity for an hour long facial etc. However, the treatment lasted under 15 minutes and I was prompted to give a 30% tip, i.e. over $100 for 15 minutes. This strikes me as too much and out of line with the practice at other med spas. All this would have been fine if I would have had good results. However, it has been over two weeks since the appointment and there are absolutely zero results from the treatment. None. On their website it states that the "pigmented lesion will darken during treatment". This did not happen, nor has it happened since. I am assuming that either the staff member did not use the laser correctly or the laser was faulty. All in all a costly, disappointing, ineffective interaction.

This company does not communicate well with their customers and will cancel appointments the day of and then blame their customers for not showing up. Stay away.

While the procedure was painful to say the least even with the numbing...Rachel made me feel comfortable in going at a slower pace on some parts of my face. She had offered laughing gas as an option but I declined and endured the pain. Literally, I'm 4 days out since I had last it done. I peeled on my chin and nose area yesterday...but if I'm only this far out, and full results are expected in 8-12 weeks...I WISH SOMEONE HAD TOLD ME ABOUT THIS PLACE EARLIER! They seriously do some magic here. A few days ago I went in to get some products (sunscreen and silver gel) which was recommended in the aftercare instructions and the lady at the desk who helped me was informative and very helpful. I didn't feel pressured at all in buying the products knowing I'd have to invest.

Providing an honest review of my experience:…read more I came to this office for a second opinion and had some texture concerns around my mouth. During my consultation, Dr. Robertson recommended that I meet with Jessie to discuss laser treatment options. Jessie recommended erbium laser resurfacing around my mouth. I was told to expect approximately 2-3 weeks of downtime and that any pinkness could last up to six months but would be easy to cover with makeup. I was also shown before-and-after photos that appeared to show very positive outcomes. My personal experience was very different from what I expected. I experienced approximately 12 weeks of downtime, and my skin felt extremely tight, almost "shrink-wrapped." My smile and facial animation also felt altered. When I shared these concerns with Dr. Robertson, I was told that this was consistent with laser resurfacing. For me, these sensations persisted for around 10 months. At nearly 11 months post-procedure, I still feel my skin texture looks unusually smooth and shiny, and some pre-existing texture or scars appear more noticeable or different than before. At my three-month follow-up appointment, when I expressed concern about these changes, I was told that little could be done for a year or more because additional treatments could trigger inflammation. I believe this possibility should have been discussed more clearly before treatment, because I would not have moved forward had I fully understood the potential recovery timeline and limitations afterward. Before proceeding with erbium, I specifically asked whether Halo laser might be a better option. Jessie told me that it would take "10 Halo treatments to achieve the results of erbium." Another aspect that was not fully explained to me was how noticeable the contrast between treated and untreated skin could appear during healing. In my experience, blending remained obvious for many months. My overall feeling is that I was not fully informed about the extent of recovery, the appearance changes during healing, or the emotional impact of the process. As a result, the experience was very difficult for me and affected my trust moving forward. I would also encourage anyone considering this treatment to keep in mind that before-and-after photos shown in consultations are often taken in highly controlled lighting conditions that may minimize how texture and reflectivity appear. In everyday lighting, I personally felt that redness, shininess, and texture changes were much more noticeable. Prepare to be uncomfortable with what you see for 6-10 months. The mouth area takes longer to heal because skin is thinner and in constant motion, plus it is the focal point of your face, so any change is more noticeable. In my opinion, this procedure should not be considered a minor recovery treatment. Prospective patients should be prepared for the possibility of significant downtime, prolonged healing, and emotional stress related to appearance changes during recovery. I do not feel those aspects were adequately explained to me during my consultation. I genuinely wish I had understood these possibilities beforehand, because I would have made a different decision. I am sharing my experience so that others considering erbium laser resurfacing can make a more informed decision. The first picture is before the next two are after. They feel this is a good outcome. I would not recommend.

I met with Jodie for my consult and she gave me some very honest advice - she informed me that fillers would not be a good solution to one of my problems. She advised me of several other options (one of which was not offered at Aesthetica). I felt very safe in her care because she wasn't just giving me what I asked for, she was helping me make an informed choice, even though it meant less business for Aesthetica. So I did get fillers in one area and I am REALLY happy with them. Jodie is really good at what she's does and my face still looks like my face - just refreshed. Some FYIs - I think the consult was $50. When I paid for my service they deducted the $50. My fillers ended up costing ~$600 in total. There's also a rewards program that you can sign up for to get discounts on future services. I will definitely be back.
