So disappointed to read the negative experiences about this dealership. My review is for the service department, and please consider my review before believing all of the negativity!
First and foremost, if you go in defensive and making assumptions about what kind of service you are going to get, or how the dealership will try to get one over on you, treat you poorly because of your gender/ethnicity/social class, or communicate that you are unintelligent, you are going to be treated that way. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy. Look for the GOOD! Come to Priority Toyota EXPECTING a great experience. And if you don't like who you are dealing with, your gut is usually right-- ASK FOR SOMEONE ELSE! Very simple. I have learned in my short time doing business with car dealers that the experience is what you make it, and one stupid salesman is not worth throwing the entire dealership to the birds.
In December, I took my car in to have the tire and/or wheel repaired-- I blew out my tire hitting a median on the highway and it did some damage, to put it lightly. I considered many tire places in the area, but none could fix my car in the timeframe I was considering (I needed my car ASAP for several local events and work of course). After doing some research on my own, I determined that a Toyota dealership was the way to go. I had two safety recalls that demanded repair, and figured I May as well kill 3 birds with one stone and get the car to Priority Toyota. I had a nice experience when looking for a car a couple years ago when they were Springfield Toyota off Backlick Road, so I landed on this being the place.
I had the pleasure of first encountering Juan. Let me be specific: Juan in the service department is a true gentleman and example of what class in customer service looks like. I informed Juan of my situation, and he worked very quickly to attempt to get my car into the shop. However, I made the mistake of thinking a timely repair could happen on a Saturday morning, and learned that I wouldn't be able to borrow a courtesy car while the repairs took place. We agreed I could come back later that day, and they would go ahead and replace the tire for me. I was very upfront with Juan that I had spoken to someone else about my situation, and that since the other tires were in good condition, I wasn't interested in replacing all four, or even two, of the tires-- only one. He looked at the tires, too, when I returned later that day, and also agreed they were in good shape (one point for Juan, for not using an opportunity to take advantage of me when he could have). But, he would need more than a walk-around. He let me know that they could have my car fixed within an hour to an hour and a half, but when he returned with the service report, further examination revealed that my rim was also bent irreparably. And likely the fibers in my tire had been stretched and damaged so badly that we would now need to replace the tire AND rim, costing an unexpected nearly $500.
Here's where it starts to get good: Juan puts NO pressure on me to get the repair done. When he knows where I generally live and work, he encourages me that it is safe to drive on the donut tire while I think about whether the cost is a good fit for me. He even offered to have their service department do the work if I decided to buy the rim and tire somewhere else, and just bring it to them to replace. This act of service alone spoke volumes to me, as car dealerships have a certain reputation that Juan clearly had no interest in promoting.
Although it took a couple of hours for the work to be done while I waited (they were extremely busy on this day and I didn't have an appointment, my fault), Juan was friendly and apologetic for the wait. On the big reveal (the bill), he stated that his technician discovered a healthy tire and the only repair required was a replacement of the rim-- I was out for less than $180!
Juan was a head above the rest from start to finish. Courteous, efficient, and straightforward, and even saved me money. During opportunities to create small talk, Juan was genuine and easy-going yet professional. I can't say enough good things about him and regret that I won't have the ability to call on him now that I've moved to Georgia.
Whether you walk in or make an appointment, try to work with Juan. You can expect a fantastic experience! read more
