I've visited many car dealerships in the past (Honda, Acura, Toyota, Benz), but this location was the worst experience of all.
Let me start by saying that I'm usually not the type to write a review (although i do relay a lot of my decision making on them), and am never to bash a company or anyone on the internet for a few minor drawbacks here and there, BUT with my continued frustrating experience, i thought that I would share my story.
How do i explain my story... Every visit/involvement I have had here since they have moved to their new location, I have had issues after issues. Customer service is a joke, scheduling is a mess, follow-up.. what follow-up. I need not even mention pro activeness.
Here is an active log:
1. I get a call from Toyota corporate for a recall that they are issuing for my Corolla (great, very pro-active i thought and was very impressed by Toyota). The rep from the phone even asked he i would like him to reach out to my local Toyota dealership to schedule for the work (again, WOW, loved that). He called, joined us in the conference and the first service guy we spoke with wasn't even aware of the recall. OK, so we escalated to another service guy who seem to have some clue. We couldn't schedule as he was not sure when they will have the part and will call me back (Ok, not a deal breaker, i get it... i'll wait for the call).
2. I get the call and was told that they can service me on a Saturday. I asked if I can be provided with a shuttle service back home and be picked up again once the job was completed (I only live 5 miles down the road). Yes, of-course he said... (Ok, that is great, i thought. I'm looking forward to this).
3. I take my car in on the scheduled date, and pulled up to the service lot, asked for the guy that was speaking with me, and he took my information, mentioned that everything is in order and that it would take 4 hours or so (no biggie). The shuttle dropped me off at home and I continued with my day....
HERE IS WHERE EVERYTHING STARTS GOING BAD:
4. I get the call from the guy 4 hours later saying that they do not have the parts to service my car, and that i would have to reschedule another day... (WTF? Did you not confirm with me that you will have the parts in by this day, and on the day of, you said everything was in order??).
5. I asked them to come pick me up (as they had suggested they would), and was told that it will be 30-40 mins. 1.5 hours go by and no one showed up. I called the dealership and was told that no one knew that they were supposed to pick me up and someone is on the way. 40 mins later I get a call from the shuttle driver asking "which entrance i was in". He thought that I was in Springfield mall, when they were told in the morning and several times on the phone, that I am at my house address.
6. I go in on the re-scheduled date. and deal with that mess to get the car done again... to cut the story short, i had asked them to also do a safety inspection on my car and they failed the inspection due to one license plate bulb being burnt. "That would be $46.50 to replace". WHAT? for a $2.50 bulb....no thank you, I will do the work myself. I asked the ladies on the front desk several times, when can I bring in the car again so that you guys can re-do the inspection? They all replied anytime before 8:30ish PM.
7. I go in there today around 6 PM.. first off, no one was WILLING to greet me (not the first time either. this is the second time). Everyone, including 2 service desk managers, and a few technicians looked me in the eye and just rolled the other way... After standing in front of one guy for maybe 25 seconds he said "Ok, i guess I can help you". WHAAAAAT!!! This is your customer service????
anyhow, was now informed that the safety inspector leaves at 5PM and that I have to come in again before this time...
I got the feeling that the guys did not want to talk with me, or treat me with any respect as I was driving a crappy beat up 03 Corolla... I truly felt like I was being profiled because of what I was driving, and what I was wearing (don't really walk around being flashy).... Mind you, I make six figures, own two houses in Fairfax county, bought my Benz (on my second now) brand new. The corolla is my "beater car"...
Final thoughts:
What a disappointment. I will say that before they moved to the new location, i had positive experience with their customer service. Every since they moved, and based off my recent experience, i am ditching this dealership for good. read more
