We were in the High Cotton Suite from Friday 3.22.24 to Tuesday 3.26.24. We enjoyed our stay. The Suite was quite roomy. There was an enclosed private patio with rocker chairs. This suite is located on the second floor back of the Nichols House. As noted in the website description, there are steep stairs up to the suite. You must be able bodied and decently strong to lift your luggage up. We had no issue. The room was fairly quiet and had everything we needed. The house does seem adjacent to a semi lively residential neighborhood. At night we heard people talking outside, playing music, and dogs barking. It always died down after sunset and was not a problem for us. It was not out of hand at all. The Victorian house is beautiful and has character. I loved that. This is not the Marriott and this is not a house that has been so heavily restored that it doesn't match its true age at all. That adds to its charm. Grounds were landscaped nicely. Peter is just a text away should you need anything. We did not take advantage of the onsite parking but it is off the lane right near the "by code only" doors to the property. Convenient. I loved being so close to Forsyth Park. Walking the one mile in the beautiful weather to get to the river area was great. This is a walkable city. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

What a lovely, comfortable place to stay. The bed was comfortable and very high. Small living room made a nice relaxing place. Kitchen is charming. Muffins, bagels, yogurt, OJ, water, and a bottle of red wine was stocked upon arrival, as were the makings for coffee. The sitting area outside was a great place to relax and chat. The fenced-in yard was great for our 2 little, elderly dogs to play and meander around in. About a 15-minute walk to town. Uber rides arrived usually 2 minutes-literally- after requesting them, and were $5 to get into town. (Really they were more like $1.50, but $5 is the lowest amount Uber charges.) Peter was so accommodating and gave us many restaurant recommendations and other fun ideas.

Just because it is a historic location does not make it a five star facility. * It lacks the following: * Valet parking * Bell hops * Actual suites: our Garden Suite consisted of one large room with two small, frosted windows, one bathroom and one closet. It reminded me of an isolation cell in my father's jail (he was a guard not an inmate.). There was a non- working fireplace * No dining facilities except for breakfast * No on site or nearby parking * No sizable bar * Worn appearance in places (see photos). * Steep and narrow steps to get to our room * Scarce storage space * Minimal electric outlets * When making the reservation for our 55th wedding anniversary I told them that we would be bringing our 18 and year old Daschund. They said there would be a dog bed and dog bowls. Unfortunately, Otto had three seizures two days prior to our arrival, and we had to have him euthanized. There was neither a dog bed nor dog bowls. * Only one trash basket in the bathroom * No heat when it was in the 30s in the morning, 40s by midday, 50s by sunset * No nearby restaurants in walking distance * No automatic refills of water or San Pellegrino, you have to ask * No soft drinks or alcohol in mini fridge * Weak internet signal Now, on the good side: Room was large Staff was friendly and responsive It was exceptionally cold Savannah is a quaint old southern town We are accustomed to real five star hotels like the Waldorf Astoria or The Kimberley in Manhattan or any of the Ritz Carlton properties in Florida

Plus the evening cookies were a delightful surprise. Of course the star of the show is breakfast from 8-10am. You can order anything off the menu. We split the syrniki (pancakes) and two egg breakfast. Also a side of bacon and fruit. Yum! I had the matcha latte this time and it was great too. Good thing Forsyth Park was close by to walk off the itis before our drive home. Shout out to the staff working on 12/19 - 12/20 for making our short stay wonderful!

Not only was the breakfast so nicely made and prepared, but there were contestant drinks, coffee, wine, snacks and desserts 24/7 for the taking. Amazing oatmeal white chocolate chip crasin cookies I died for. One thing is I wished the time for breakfast was longer. It is served 8:30-9:30am. Hoped it would be longer than an hour. I recommend they extend it to 10am or make it a full 2 hours 8-10am. A slight extension I think would give guests more time and it definitely is the highlight of the stay. Will 100% be back next time I am in Savannah! The chef for breakfast was extremely kind and accommodating as well.

The Marshall House is located directly on Broughton St near shopping and restaurants, and it's within walking distance of pretty much everything you will want to see! You will barely need a rental car for your trip. Despite being on the main road, I found the hotel to be pretty quiet! The historic inn is beautifully restored. Each room is unique. If you're lucky enough to get a front-facing room on the second floor, you have access to the shared balcony overlooking the street. My room was cozy and comfortable! There are cozy bathrobes in each room. The Marshall House has some unique amenities. They provide bottled water (both cold and room temperature) by the main desk for hotel guests! So great during the summer heat. They also have a complimentary wine and cheese reception every evening in the Library with entertainment (musicians, lectures, trivia, etc.) so make sure to include that in your trip itinerary! Breakfast is also included with the price of the room. Breakfast is served in the atrium off the library. You are seated by the wonderful staff, and then you check off/circle your order on the menu they provide. Breakfast comes off of a buffet, so it's a little odd not to just help yourself, but service is super quick! The Marshall House is in the running for most haunted hotel in the country, but I didn't have any ghost encounters while I was there unfortunately. It was fun to hear the stories of other guests and to learn more about the history of the hotel! I highly recommend staying at the Marshall House if you're looking for a comfortable stay in the perfect walkable location!

The room was lovely and I especially liked the original wood floors throughout. The folks at the front desk were also wonderful. I asked for extra shampoo and conditioner and they were brought up right away, unlike all other hotels where we have stayed who seem to take hours to fulfill requests like this one. As far as hauntings go, the only thing we experienced was a light knocking within the room, and it was just one time. Haunting or not, we would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Savannah.

The house and all of the rooms are so beautiful. We stayed in room 6 and loved every bit of it. The AC worked well, the bed was comfortable. It had all of the old charm you'll be looking for with all the modern comforts. Breakfast is served every morning & there is wine hour every evening. What a view while sitting on the front porch during happy hour. You can walk every where within the historic district. (However, I don't get visiting in the summer and will never make that mistake again. I'm from the south and found the heat and humidity oppressive.) I do have mixed feelings about this B&B though. The staff were most definitely 5 stars. Each person was friendly, helpful, and just so happy! The overall experience though was lacking and I think it was all just meh. The breakfast was okay, the coffee was terrible - and I'm not a coffee connoisseur but I couldn't even drink it. The room wasn't as clean as it should've been. The pillow case had a stain on it. Gross. I understand stains happen but then it should be retired from rotation. The shower curtain was also moldy and needs to be replaced. The bed was comfortable but the quilt was, again, just meh.
