Unfortunately, since the arrival of the current manager Jen, the environment has changed dramatically. On more than one visit, I witnessed young employees being spoken to harshly and reprimanded in front of customers. I have seen staff reduced to tears, and one young cashier told me she was terrified of making even the smallest mistake. The atmosphere now feels tense, uncomfortable, and frankly toxic. These teens and young adults are polite, diligent, and clearly care about the business, and it is heartbreaking to see them treated this way. My friends, neighbours, and husband have noticed the same shift, and several of us have decided to shop elsewhere. My only regret is not seeing those wonderful young employees anymore. I will not return until the manager learns how to treat staff with respect, or until management takes action. A business that allows its employees to be bullied will lose the trust of the community--if it hasn't already.

They will not tell you why your fired as it's, "store policy", but I just think it's bullshit, as they don't want to have an extra employee to pay. If you are thinking of shopping here, save your time and money and just go to a Home Depot or Lowe's. This store is pathetic and the owner Jen, and manager Lora, don't care about new employees. They are ignorant, as I personally had to deal with there immaturity and lack of responsibility. By extension the aisles are narrow, boxes are sitting on top of each other, often blocking the aisle and even more often blocking the shelves themselves! It is inconvenient and likely hampering their sales as well. With that said, and the aforementioned scarcity factor aside, this store has many more things than one would imagine and a good place for items for home or garden or to pick up supplies. Even better the couple running the store are knowledgeable, friendly and eager to help. Unfortunately, the old adage about owners caring like no mere employee ever would is true. This is a good store to ask for help and receive a friendly reaction.

Last night I had to retrieve something from that p-trap under our ensuite sink. The plumbing for…read morethe drain is old, freezing, and the coupling broke. The alignment was never quite right, the house was built in 1991 and the builder seemed to have just forced the drain to fit. This likely put extra pressure on the plastic nut holding the p-trap to the plumbing leading away. I decided to fix this, and my wife suggested that I go to the local Home Hardware instead of the typical big box in the neighboring city. She figured I'd get better service. She was 100% right. The gentleman in plumbing this morning (Sept. 19, 2026) was fantastic. He set me up with a piece that had a ball-like pivot where the trap connects to the rest of the plumbing and what a difference it made. True, I had to return but that was due to me not being accurate during the first visit as to the diameter of the drain pipe descending from the sink. No matter, this same gentleman was just as willing to help. I'm sorry that I didn't get his name, but if the store owner/manager happens to know, could you please pass on my sincerest thanks and appreciation to him? He made a somewhat stressful situation for me a breeze! I will definitely return to this great local store again, especially when I need specific advice.

Lots of street parking on Annette and also on nearby Jane Street in a lovely community of stores, restaurants and services. Very reasonable prices and you can use the Home Hardware online search tools as well as going in the shop. If you can't find what you need or it's out of stock they always track it down for me. They have wonderful services as well including key cutting and paint mixing and great advice.

Here was what I was thinking: I wanted a Weber. Within a few minutes, they walked me through the different Weber grills, explained the advantages of the different types, and we decided that I didn't need the most expensive one. In fact, I could save a few hundred dollars by buying a much cheaper version. And, so I did. I asked how much it would cost to ship it, and how much it would cost to have it assembled. They told me that they did it all for free. Checking a few competitor prices to see if they just folded those costs into the price of the BBQ I was astonished to discover that, no, they did not! This was a free assembly and delivery. That right there is a two hundred dollar value, at the best of times! So now, a few weeks later, I'm BBQing chickens like a king, looking forward to tasty treats all summer long, and I know exactly where I'll go when I need anything else in the future!
