Not sure what has happened to Prince's over the years, but this visit was a major letdown. While the sides were decent, the quality of the chicken was downright disappointing--greasy, poorly prepared, and the actual meat itself was completely bland and devoid of flavor. I ordered Medium and got virtually zero heat, while my friend's Mild tasted just as lifeless. It's unfortunate to see the original Nashville hot chicken legend fall so far short of its standard.
What a treat to find one of Nashville's oldest tradition-100 years ! Founded by the man Thornton, Prince his recipes. continue in this airport location. I don't things very hot and mild is perfect for me. Real Nashville hot chicken on the go ! What I really appreciated here was the limited menu which gets people in and out quickly !
When in Nashville you've got to have Hot Chicken. I'm no stranger to it, but while in the Assembly Food Hall, I needed protein after a long trip and saw how long the line at Prince's was. I tried a kids meal with 2 tenders ordered mild. I was very impressed with the quality of the chicken here. Very moist, crispy and flavorful! Even the mild was packing the heat. I wish Prince had their own house sauce instead of prepackaged Ken's salad dressing sauces. A let down. I really loved the branding on the cups. I will definitely be back for chicken.
Visiting Nashville from Arizona and I had to get some Nashville Hot Chicken. Was walking around the assembly food hall when I saw this place. We got two sandwiches, the honey sandwich and the kickin chicken sandwich, with fries, Greens, cornbread. Staff was super helpful with the menu. Food was served hot and fresh. I definitely recommend
Listen a friend of mine told me about this place and I am glad I followed through. The wings are everything. Seasoned to perfection and spicy. I selected medium because He mentioned medium was hot, I would have gone up Another notch. The wings are seasoned with the spicy. My only wish was I took these wing back to my hotel so I can truly eat them the way I would like to. I ordered 2 orders, I with fries and 1 without and it was goooddtttttt

Going back to Nashville, I wanted to try something different so I had Prince's Hot Chicken on my list for places I need to squeeze in during my stay. My hotel was within walking distance from the Assembly Food Hall and I made plans to visit once we had a lunch break. First time here, I ordered Tenders (Hot) and a lemonade. The tenders, wow. The heat level has me sweating and I only have ninety minutes to knock it out. The chicken is cooked well and juicy, even though the spice level is on the high side. This is a well cooked chicken, some people enjoy this brand over the other Nashville chicken spots. If you like your chicken with some kick, try Prince's Hot Chicken upstairs in the Assembly Food Hall.

They are in assembly food hall and were one of the busiest establishments but the food came out pretty quickly despite the longer line! The Nashville hot chicken didn't disappoint.
I'm one of many tourists reviewing this, so I only have some much context. A lot of reviews are saying it has varying quality but I can say I got what I came here for! Chicken was flavorful and good, a bit pricey but overall solid. Better than most chicken I've had anywhere and would still recommend Didn't wait too long and it's a food court so I just found a table nearby

The price is actually reasonable. I compare hot chicken tenders to those at Sisters & Brothers in Seattle which is still my favorite. Prince's has longevity and a good product. I think I expected more for all they hype I hear.

There was a short line. The lady that waited on us was great. She was very helpful in our choices. We both got the medium, she described it as jalapeños heat. Ok, I like jalapenos, but this seemed a bit hotter! I had the tenders with fries. Other reviews said their chicken was dry. My tenders were very juicy. Fries were crinkle with paprika. I had ranch dipping sauce. My husband had the Andre Chicken Sandwich with the Sweet Heat. Southern sweet tea was bottomless. The only issue was trying to find a place to sit at the time we were there.

We came during a Friday lunch and the wait after ordering was around 30 min. We got the 3 whole wings in XHot and the chicken sandwich in xxhot. The xhot was quite hot and we probably should have went down one level. Very smoky heat and more oily than flavorful? The chicken skin was not super crispy and the chicken itself was just OK to me. You don't get any sauces included in the order which I feel like is a crime for hot chicken (at least one!). The sando was needed more sauce/pickles in my opinion. It was on the drier side. XXHot was more tolerable in a sandwich vessel.
Checked this place out inside of Assembly Food Hall and was pleasantly surprised. They claim to have the original hot chicken. Their tenders lived up to the name, very tender and the heat level was great. Prices weren't the worst, considering it was downtown and the service was quick. Hattie B's is another well known hot chicken just down the street from this and it's worth having a try of both to see which is best !
We were visiting from out of town and heard that Prince's and Hattie B's are the best for hot chicken sandwiches. Thankfully both are right here (one inside the food hall and one on the outside of the food hall) and from an out-of-towners perspective Prince's was the better bet! The sandwich was deliciously crispy but the way it was cooked and the sauce on that bad boy will have me thinking about it for weeks to come when I'm on the opposite coast. We went twice we loved it so much. Pro tip: you can order online to skip the line. There are plenty of places to sit down as it's a food hall but it gets busy. I can't comment on parking as we walked here.

I got the second-hottest heat level, and I really liked it! It definitely had a kick, but what I appreciated most was that there was still a ton of flavor--it wasn't just hot for the sake of being hot. The chicken sandwich was really good, and I would absolutely order it again. I also really liked the fries. I'm a big fan of crinkle fries, and even after being delivered through Uber Eats, they weren't soggy, which was impressive. The mac & cheese was probably the only thing I wouldn't order again. I thought it was pretty bland and didn't have much flavor. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the chicken--which, considering it's Prince's Hot Chicken, totally makes sense read more
The food wasn't bad. Not great, but not bad. The service on the other hand could use a lot of work. The cashier and person handing out the orders to customers gave me attitude and were very rude. When asking questions about menu items the cashier was short and seemed irritated. About 25 minutes of waiting for my order and seeing people who ordered after me get their food, I decided to ask the person who was giving out finished orders if they could check on mine. She gave me a dirty look, glanced at my receipt, and rudely said that wings are behind. I felt like I offended them by asking...it was a simple question - so bizarre. I get that they were busy but shouldn't you be courteous to customers? Since this attitude happened more than once and I saw the "care" they took in prepping orders, I started to think this was more of a cultural or systemic issue. Anyway, the food was decent. Check it out if you want to try one of the most popular Nashville chicken joints. Just don't expect a friendly environment. Or maybe try them during off hours. read more
Holy YUM!!! Just landed in Nashville and of course needed the hot chicken. Was a 15 minute wait but just grabbed a drink and then it was pretty much ready! Food- Got the 4 piece tender with kickin ranch & barbecue sauce, skipped the fries. we got the baked beans & potato salad for sides. Order the chicken with medium heat and it was spicyyyyyyy. I have a pretty good tolerance but it packed a punch. Would get again!!!! read more

Just ate a hot kickin ranch chicken sandwich and my mouth is still on fire. The hot spicy level is honestly hotter than hot. Sandwich was delicious and it was served fast. Workers were polite! read more

Prince's Hot Chicken did not disappoint. Tried the chicken burger with sweet heat sauce and XX hot, plus fries -- absolutely finger-licking good. The heat was real but balanced, the flavor came through, and every bite delivered. The fries were crispy and the perfect sidekick. Overall: It was the bomb. Spicy, satisfying, and worth every bite. read more
First meal visiting Nashville. Located in the Assembly Food Hall, I got the 4 piece chicken tenders. The kind lady told me it was happy hour and it was 4 tenders with fries for only $10! Food was ready in 5 minutes and was delicious. Not overly breaded and chicken was nice and juicy. I got the medium spice which was perfect amount of heat for me. Lots of seating in the food hall I sat at a seat wheee there was a wonderful live acoustic guitar performer that took song requests. Perfect meal for my first time in Nashville. read more

Mild was HOT. YES. I'm a wimp but damn! Folks, they are not kidding! THIS CHICKEN IS DAMN GOOD! Ordered Four tenders and fries. $14 comes with nice crinkle fries for big crispy hot tenders with some skin on them that was crunchy and yummy and delicious on top of two pieces of bread with some pickles. I walked over to the nearby bar and order a cold Coors light to help wash it all down. This location is inside of a mall-like area called Assembly hall, which is like a food court with just about everything you can think of and a good place to find something small and try out some of the local food without sitting down to a big meal or a fancy restaurant. There are multiple bars inside where you can bring your food and sit to eat with a drink or cocktail. read more
We wanted to try the original Nashville Hot Chicken. The Assembly Food Hall was crowded but not too bad. There was no line to order but quite a wait to receive your food. My order came out correctly and the tenders were ordered as medium. I was glad that I ordered ranch sauce because there was a definite kick to the sauce which I really liked. The fries were cooked perfectly as well. We found a seat in the food hall pretty easily. Napkins were on the table which was nice and the soda station was easy to access and it was nice to have free refills. read more

A trip to Nashville wouldn't be complete without some hot chicken, and a few people recommended Prince's. As someone who isn't normally a fried chicken person, I was pleasantly surprised! I wasn't terribly hungry, and the staff let me order a kids meal. It was a decent size, with two mild tenders, bread, a small basket of fries, and a small fountain beverage that came in at less than $10. I'm not the biggest fan of spicy food, so I went with mild for the tenders. It still had a nice little kick to it, which definitely made me happy. The tenders weren't too saucy, which helped preserve their crispness. The bread is just bread -- take it or leave it. And the fries were hot and salty, just the way I like them. For under $10, it was a great value. Will I be getting more hot chicken when I come back to Nashville? Not totally sure I will. But if you're looking to try it out, a Prince's Hot Chicken kids meal is the way to do it without dropping too much cash. read more
Talk about bringing the heat ! You can't visit Nashville without trying hot chicken, and Prince's is one of the OGs! We stopped by the downtown location inside the Assembly Food Hall -- super convenient with garage parking and just a quick walk upstairs. You can order online, but I decided to order at the counter for the full experience. I got the chicken sandwich with mild to medium heat, thinking I'd play it safe... but whew! The heat still packed a serious punch. My mouth was on fire after just one bite! That said, the flavor underneath the spice was solid and well-seasoned -- bold and distinct once you could get past the burn. This was a fun (and intense!) culinary experience, but it's definitely for folks who love the heat. I'm glad I tried it -- it's part of the Nashville food adventure -- though I probably won't be rushing back for round two. Worth checking off the list, just bring some water! read more

Located in the food hall right on Broadway. I wanted to try hot chicken while in town but didn't want to wait on the Hattie B's line downstairs. This was a good option. About a dozen people on line ahead of me but they moved quickly. Simple menu. Choose your heat level. I got which is definitely hotter than what I can get back home. Fries were average. AYYYYY when in Nashville hot chicken is a must! After asking several Lyft drivers which place is better Hattie's or Prince's Prince's won per my unofficial survey. So on my way to Prince's I goooo. I ordered Medium hot sandwich with a cold beer (thank god for the cold beer because it helped in the end) I love spice!!! I have to have spice in everything I eat.... It's definitely a Nashville must try. I'm glad that we were able to get it, and the line wasn't bad once you got into it. The chicken was spicy for getting a medium level of spice, and I know I can tolerate spice. But, next time, I would probably get a lighter spiced chicken (mild). The mac and cheese helped cool my mouth down and the pie was a great dessert to finish off the meal! read more

The original hot chicken, but not the original location. I ordered a medium hot chicken sandwich and a strawberry lemonade. The line to order was very short, but the line to pick up was very long. The order took about 20 minutes. The sandwich was a normal size, not huge, not tiny. It had pickles in it and the tiniest side of coleslaw. The coleslaw came in those small sauce containers. It was just one bite of coleslaw; I wish I had more. The chicken sandwich was good if the chicken was on the thick side. Our chicken was thick in the middle, but tapered on the edges, so the edge chicken was a bit dry. The center was tender and juicy though! I would come back here and maybe even visit the OG location. read more

This is the food hall location of Prince's which, obviously, isn't the original location. But no excuses. They don't give you a discount for not going to the original spot. The food was fine but, honestly, the chicken was dry and not juicy at all. I tried the Andre sandwich at a spice level of "hot" and it was mildly spicy at best. I will say the crinkle fries were very well seasoned and delicious. You get a lot of food with the kids meal. If you are ok with dry chicken, this is a good value item. The line is much shorter than at Hattie B's, which is almost literally outside the front door. But we waited almost half an hour for the food and, while there were many workers, I would suggest a better title for them would be "employees" because they didn't seem to be working very hard. There are better spots for hot chicken in Nashville than this spot. read more

What a let down! I've heard this is the original hot chicken and in my opinion it's been the worse. I'm sure there has to be an actual sit down restaurant somewhere but the closest one to us was at this food court. There was no line at all and that alone was a red flag. The food was very bland, missing seasoning because all you could literally taste was cayenne pepper which makes the chicken taste powdery. Even Hattie B's was better. We are from Los Angeles and our hot chicken tastes way better even if it's not originally from CA. read more
