    Taquitos
    Gregory B.

This is one of my favorite places to go down and grab a drink. Helps that I live almost directly above this restaurant in the Encore bulding, of course. The place is very open, but not overly loud, except when it is very full. Nice, long bar. Love the bar staff here. This night I sat at a table, so got to experience from another perspective. The food is a mix of Mexican street food and Tex-Mex fusion. It is a mix of chips & Dips, Bocaditos (appetizers and sides), Cokctails, Tacos, and salads. There is also an extensive list of alchol choices. This night two friends grabbed the chicken taquitos and I grabbed the stuffed poblano pepper. The taquitos are the better of the two, if you ask me, as the poblano mole is a bit salty for my tastes (but otherwise good). Service was great. Mario was prompt and took care of our needs nicely. On top of refills. Great service.

Service is great and Ambiance is great. Great location with a wide variety of food options.

Guava passionfruit frozen marg and pineapple marg

Everything was amazing! From the moment we walked in, until we left everything was great. Our server was awesome and took the time to go over the menu since some of the people we were with had never been here. My friends ordered the frozen guava passion fruit marg and I got the pineapple on the rocks. I loved the pineapple. I didn't care for the frozen marg, I felt like the flavor was very light and not what I was looking for. We did the salsa trio- the green was our favorite. The red was with those weird peppers and has that smoke type of flavor, we didn't care for it at all. The orange salsa is interesting and we remained neutral with our feelings on it. The guac was good and very fresh. We also ordered the queso with chorizo and that was a hit amongst us all.

My friend recommended this place before going to an event at Nissan. She said the chips were great. And that they were! Plus they had great options for her (a veggi/pescetarian). We, of course, got the chips and guac because they WERE great. Perfect thickness of the chips provided just the right crunch! And the guac had amazing flavors (only note would be to mash up the avocado a bit more as the chunks were huge). She got the fish tacos and I quote, they were "so good". I got the 3 pork tacos cuz who doesn't love a good theme? They were all delicios. so delicious I forgot to take a pic of the first one I ate. The second one (Cochinita Pibil) was SPICY but following it with the refreshing Al Pastor with pineapple was a good call. Service was freindly and attentive (we ate at the bar). The music was a bit too loud, but other than that, great vibes.

Absolutely delicious food, probably the best Mexican food I've had besides maybe one spot in Texas! Food was great an its a cute bar. Absolutely fantastic deal on food. We got dinner for 2 for $50 and it came with a dip (we got short rib queso), 2 of their side dishes (we got stuffed pablano and taquitos) and 6!!! Different tacos. Literally every single thing was delicious.

My girlfriend and I went to Bakersfield for dinner prior to a show at Ryman. The service was thankfully quick (we had a reservation for a party of 2) on a Saturday night. Inside the restaurant it was very loud (music) and hard to hear even when you're trying to lean in and pay attention. We ordered the "dinner for 2" that's $49 at the time. We agreed that most of the food felt warm and dry. When it comes to the tacos, we felt that some of the protein/meats were dry (and again was warm and on the soggier side.) Overall it's not a horrible place to have dinner especially if you want a quick bite, though I feel that it could be better. My personal rating: 3.2/5

My bestie and I had a show at Ascend Amphitheater and decided to get some tacos at Bakersfield nearby. We immediately got seats at the bar. It was a very rainy night and we were super grateful to escape the rain at this modern taco shop. The bartender was super attentive and got our orders in right away. My bestie got an incredible margarita (this is a must here). We decided to share some chips and guacamole. You can never go wrong with a side of guac. We got two tacos each. We tried the fish taco, baja shrimp taco, corn taco, and carnitas taco. I was in a seafood mood and while my tacos were good, I think I wanted a bit more flavor. My bestie enjoyed her tacos too. From reading other reviews, it looks like they shine at meat based tacos. The atmosphere is feels very Nashville trendy bar. There was plenty of seating options here. This is the perfect spot to stop at before a show.

I've been here several times, and each time it's satisfying. The bartenders are great, the good is always flavorful, and the drinks are complex. It's a little loud especially with it being right off of downtown, but it's a cool spot when they have the doors open and the air is flowing through. Always a nice spot to hit up if you're downtown.

We tried Bakersfield based on Yelp reviews & it did not disappoint!!! We shared 6 street tacos that were GREAT! We also loved the chorizo queso. The chile relleno was good, though the corn did not meet our expectations (it was a cold dish & we were expecting warm). We'd definitely eat here again!

Stopped in late night midweek with some friends and had a great experience. Service was super quick and the food was fantastic. We ordered the short rib queso, which was delicious and a huge portion--more than enough for the three of us with leftovers. Tried a few tacos and the shrimp was my favorite, but the short rib taco was also really good. The Willie salad was fresh and tasty too. Drinks were on point--the house margarita was especially great. Would definitely come back for a fun, easy late-night spot!

Stopped in for a mid-afternoon lunch after a morning of zip lining and we were starving. We decided to share the "Dinner for Two" option and it ended up being the perfect choice. We started with a selection of taquitos and chicken empanadas, which were a great way to kick things off. Both were crispy, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. The meal also came with a variety of tacos including al pastor, shrimp, fish, brisket, and pollo rojo. It was fun being able to try several different options, and each one had its own unique flavor. The al pastor and brisket really stood out, while the shrimp and fish tacos tasted fresh and light. The pollo rojo had a nice smoky kick as well. Service was friendly and quick, which we appreciated since we had worked up quite the appetite. Overall, great portions, great flavors, and a perfect spot to refuel after an adventure. Definitely a spot we'd come back to next time we're in the area.

Bakersfield might be the best restaurant in Nashville hands down. We came here on a whim in our trip to Nashville and were warmly greeeted and seated right away without a reservation. Upon being seated, our server came over and gave us a run down of the menu. He was such a great server, I wish I got his name so I could have given him out a shout-out. Super friendly and outgoing. Really help make the experience for us. The inside of the restaurant is also so cute. I ordered the Dolly salad and it was sooo yummy! I wanted to immediately go home and make this recipe. This was hands-down, the best Caesar salad that I've ever had. Their tacos were also bomb. We both ended up ordering more food after we realized how delicious it was. My fiance was jealous of my Dolly salad, and had to get one for himself. Service 5 stars, food 5 stars, prices 5 stars, and vibes elite.

Ask the Community - Bakersfield Nashville

Are the chips and salsa free?

No they are not free. 5 bucks

Is there a parking lot behind or where is parking?

Park at The Pinnacle Bldg on 3rd. Just around the corner from Bakersfield.

I plan on visiting this establishment tonight. What is the difference between high and low seating? Do they take reservations? What are the happy hour specials for Friday?…

There are big "picnic" type community tables with benches for low seating and then high top tables with tall chairs and a long booth for high seating. They do take some reservations but are pretty booked up on weekends! They have $3 shots and $4…

Is there a separate fryer for gluten free options (ie chips, fried things)?

Absolutely...I spoke to the manager and I have severe allergies and he was able to assist...and the food is spectacular!

    Does this place take reservations?

    Yes! But, not needed

    How late is food served?

Hi Lyndsey! Our kitchen's open til 12am Monday through Thursday, 1am on Friday and Saturday, and 10pm on Sunday.

What are their happy hour deals and hours?

Hi Jamie! We don't have a designated happy hour, but we do have a rotating $3 shot of the and $3 drafts of PBR all day every day!

Are there a lot of gluten free options? Follow up.. Queso, guacamole and salsas are gluten free... Along with several other things. Three of the tacos are. So good!

I'm pretty sure the Queso wasn't gluten free, but I did see gluten free options.

    Are they dog friendly?

I don't see how, there is no patio.

This place came recommended from a friend and it seemed exciting to go to the restaurant of a singer! It is right in the heart of the downtown bar area. We had a very large group of people on a Saturday night. We had a bit of a wait as they do not take reservations. They seated us upstairs all together sort of at a row of tables separate but all on a row which worked out ok. We were there to celebrate a 21st birthday. They did say Happy Birthday but nothing special beyond that was given or provided which was a little disappointing but I think everyone in Nashville is celebrating something so I get it. Service was very good. Chips with salsa and guacamole was provided upon seating for everyone. When requested more was provided. We had one person who was Gluten Free and they appeared to take care in explaining options as well as answering any questions people had. Drinks were refilled and kept flowing (alcoholic ones). And for a busy Saturday night meals came out in a good timing. Everyone enjoyed their meal although one person had bitten into something hot and did not like it and they were happy to replace the meal. The meal that I had was fantastic! The steak quesadilla. The steak was tender and extremely flavorful. Honestly I had been a bit hesitant to order steak due to being very picky over steak quality. But I was very happy with it! Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals and at the end of the meal the server actually was ok with splitting up the ticket even tho we were a very large group which many many establishments refuse to do so this made me very pleased! Oh they had a live band playing on the first floor which was nice. There is an elevator at the back of the restaurant which is nice for those unable or just not wanting to climb a flight of stairs . The flower wall with the Nashville name on it made such a great backdrop for photos! They had two unisex bathrooms on the first floor. I would definitely recommend and go back to this place!

I told him I wanted something sweet with tequila, and he created the perfect drink. I honestly don't know what he made, but it was so good I ordered a second one! We also discovered we're both from Chicago, which made for great conversation and made the experience feel even more welcoming. Johnny recommended the tacos, and they absolutely lived up to the hype.
