My grandaughter had her birthday party at Prince Tea House. They allowed us to put down a deposit to hold 2 tables. The owner Sandy is nice and friendly. When we booked we were advised we could bring cake, but upon arrival we were advised cupcakes weren't allowed unless we paid a $25 fee to serve it. My daughter was a little disappointed because she wasn't told that. So we chose to eat the cupcakes later because the fee was a little expensive, just to eat our own dessert. That was the only real issue we had. Our waitress was Anna and she was very nice as well. She was very accommodating. We ordered fries, chicken katsu, a turkey sandwich, a fruit waffle, several different teas hot and cold, salads, fish and chips, and buffalo wings. The food is pretty simple because it's Tea house food. Most sandwiches come with a salad, or you can pay an upcharge for fries or fruit. The ginger dressing was really good. Everyone liked it. The fish and chips were just ok, the fish was a little fishy in flavor and tasted like frozen fish sticks. I probably would not order it again. The fries were ok, and the salads were good. I enjoyed the hot milk tea also. It comes with a cute little tea pot and a tea cup. The ambiance was nice and pretty with floral decor throughout the restaurant. It was lots of photo opps inside. I truly enjoyed this experience. This is why try an afternoon or high tea every city I visit. The atmosphere is very tranquil but they should say no babies because the crying disrupts the peace you have afternoon tea for. The price for one was worth it. I got 4 full cups of tasty tea out of my teapot. The finger sandwiches and desserts were great. The deviled egg very basic they need to work on it. Overall, this was a cute tea luncheon with an interesting menu. We went for a morning tea and got there as soon as they opened we took a bunch of pictures outside and a cute little mural they have once inside it was decorated with pretty flowers and there were a bunch of options on the menu, but we had questions. The server helped us and gave options. I think we all ended up enjoying the different teas that we ordered. They did let us swap out the salmon on the tea for 3 since we don't eat fish. The other options were good. I don't think there was one that stood out or that I would order individually. We didn't try any of the other food options, but the menu is extensive and interesting. We had an amazing time the other day! We arrived as soon as they opened because we couldn't figure out how to make a reservation but I did overhead others mention them as they arrived. The facility itself is so cute, great for photos and a lovely tea time with your besties. Price was a bit high for me personally. I did like everything I tried and what I know I wouldn't have liked I gave to my sisters. They do allow substitutions for the bundle tea. I have been dying to try this place and was finally able to visit this past Sunday with a gal friend for a High Tea for two. We arrived at 1:30 on Sunday with no reservation, as expected, it was busy but we didn't have to wait (by around 2-2:30pm there was a wait) with two birthday parties and other people enjoying lunch and tea. The menu has tons of tea available (be careful bc some of them have a ton of sugar added) and some sandwiches, salads, snacks and lots of pastries and cakes. We chose the two for two for $56 which is a great deal. It came with a scone each with a small amount of cream and jam, one macaroon each, one chocolate soufflé each and a tiny whipped treat with a few pieces of fruit. It also had four tiny single toast piece open-face finger sandwiches: cucumber, crab salad, salmon and a delicious ham or other deli meat one with rosemary on top. Probably equal to about half a piece of toast for all four - they were REALLY small. It gets really really loud in here and there was no baby changing station in the restroom (big issue). I think my baby was overwhelmed and over stimulated bc when the room is full it's so loud you can barely hear yourself think. It's very cute inside and all the teacups and saucers and items are cute and floral. It's extremely photo friendly and they have a few spaces for photo ops. Staff were pretty friendly and food and tea was out very quickly. I started with the Prince Fruit Tea and it was delicious, but it was SO sweet and I realized that it has a ton of sugar added (it's listed very small above the three fruit teas very small on the menu how much sugar is added and it is A LOT) - I insisted they change it out for the black mango tea with no sugar at all bc I didn't want to drink that sugar water tea. They tried to convince me to just add black tea to weaken it but I told them it was about the sugar, not the taste. The taste was wonderful... so be careful as some teas have a heavy amount of sugar in them as mentioned above. Read the menu carefully. I was only looking for a fruit tea, I didn't realize it had sugar in it that I wouldn't control and add myself. I will absolutely come back - I enjoyed myself. It's loud, but not the end of the world and is probably easier to manage during the week and not on a busy Sunday at prime time. I can't wait to bring my mom. read more

Went here with my brother for a late lunch and it was pretty good. He had never been to Prince Tea House so this was a welcomed surprise for him. We ordered the Fried Squid Tails for the appetizer. This is my go to appetizer when I come to Prince Tea House. This time the squid was rather doughy but they did take it back and fry them longer, much better. Very cute establishment, very fitting look for a tea party. Our server was very nice and helped us pick what teas we wanted to enjoy as it was our first time there. We got the tea for 3. The teas were really nice and we could sweeten it to our own liking. The pots they came in matched each person's cup which is always a nice touch. The treats and sandwiches where a hit or miss and wished they had more variety for each tier. The macaroons were very very sweet to which I couldn't finish one and felt bad when they brought out a cute birthday plate and those were the treats on it. So they didnt get touched at all. I really enjoyed my visit to Price Tea. The first thing that caught my eye was the decor - the cherry blossoms, the color palette, and the open seating made the room open and inviting. I can speak to the private event experience-- my cousin hosted her bridal shower here, and overall it was great from a guest perspective and smooth/relatively simple to set up from a host perspective from what she has let on. The food and tea itself were great; I especially enjoyed the afternoon tea tower, which offered both savory and sweet options. Each table of 4 people received 4 different flavors of hot tea (we had a green, black, fruit, and herbal to my knowledge). It's worth it to note that although we were a party of 20+ people, we only had half of the main room reserved; moreover, there were other groups on the other side enjoying their time in the space. We ordered the afternoon tea for two which comes with two teas. We got both fruity teas and they were delicious. The actual food that came with the afternoon tea tower was very mediocre. All of the sandwiches were made on stale, store-brought grocery store bread. The presentation is cute, but that's basically the only positive part of the "dish". We would not order it again. Everything else that we ordered was much better. The salted chicken appetizer was absolutely delicious and the takoyaki was some of the best I've ever had. We had reservations and got seated within minutes but then it took about 15 minutes for a server to take our order, tea service for four, and another 42 minutes to get the accompanying food. We went there for Mother's Day yesterday and it already started off negatively because when we got in we were asked if we had a reservation and I said no, but I had called one month prior, to ask if I could put in a reservation and they said they did not do reservations. We got there at 10:30 and were the third in line to be seated. They sat us and then did not come back to us after at least 30 minutes. They went to several other tables who showed up after us, before they even came to ours, and people got their orders who came here after we did. Then to make things worse my drink order was wrong and the waitress said it would take 20 minutes to make the correct drink so I just kept it because we had already been waiting for so long. Third time is definitely a charm! I was so sad that SoVa tea had stopped selling hot tea for the evening, I wanted a consolation. So once again, I searched Yelp. Lo and behold, my search takes me here. In a nice little area of Virginia Beach that I lovingly nicknamed little Manila, this gem is nicely tucked away past the Lidl. I had been passing by the posters of Prince Tea House many time but never got time to try it out until now, and I'm not disappointed! It was a rainy day around 2pm and I was surprised by the crowd. However, there are plenty of seats and we got sat immediately. The staff were nice and didn't rush us to look through the menu because there is A LOT to look at. I like the fact that they don't just provide dessert but also savory food because I haven't had lunch yet, so I definitely killed 2 birds with 1 stone by ordering some savory snacks AND dessert in one restaurant. A few moments later(quoted from SpongeBob meme), I finally decided to order the Matcha Latte, Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Crepes Cake amd Takoyaki. My mom ordered the Mocha and the Trio combo (Goma Creme Brulee, Cranberry Creme Brulee & Green Tea Financier). The Matcha Latte has a very strong taste of Matcha and the sweetness is perfect because it's not too sweet. The only complaint with this is that the temperature can be slightly higher since I ordered hot, and it seems like the barista tried to do some art with the milk but messed up so it ended up like somebody stired my drink(as seen as picture). My suggestion is that you just have to pour a circle in the middle if you're busy. A simple circle is better than a messed up pattern. The Brown Sugar Bubble Milk Crepes Cake... I think this is the BEST crepes cake I've ever had in my life. The brown sugar bubbles and milk foam are set on the side so I could have the honor to do the pour. The cake itself is not very sweet and the top is caramelized like Creme Brulee. After adding the fluffy foam and the sweet brown sugar bubble onto the cake, this goodness is completed. Each later of the cake is layered with fluffy whipped cream. With the foam and brown sugar bubble I felt like I'm eating caramelized clouds! The takoyaki is awesome too. Very hot and each of the balls are filled with 2 octopus meat! It is perfect to have something savory in the middle of having dessert. As for my mom's food. I tasted her mocha and the flavor is very good, very chocolaty. However, it has the same issue with the temperature as she ordered hot but it was lukewarm. For her Trio combo, I'd give it 2.5/5. The Goma Creme Brulee is actually black sesame flavored, which is very good as the aroma of sesame is strong. The Cranberry Creme Brulee is average as the filling is not very smooth. The Green Tea Financier is a never again because they were very dry. I decided to not take any star from my review because the food that I didn't like was my mom's order instead of mines, or maybe the other options in the Trio combo would've been better. But overall it is a great place to try out some unique dessert or have a tea time with your besties and buddies. read more

I came here in a whim. I treated myself to a "me, myself and I date." I did have trouble getting into the door because it was locked about 2 hours before they close. I ended up calling to see if they were open because the sign said they were and the internet said they were. While inside I was seated in a corner which I chose. I loved being seated away and to myself. There was another couple inside who walked in maybe 20 minutes after I had arrived. Their chicken sandwich is tasty and the tea was super! The tea cup and pot were adorable! So dainty. Next time I would like to sample their scones if available. One complaint I have is the staff that evening being in their phones, talking loudly in the kitchen area and having a lout FaceTime conversation with someone. It was distracting. We stopped by without expectation and we can't wait to bring friends and family back again. We split the dessert trio, I got the Earl Grey milk tea at 30% sweetness per our servers recommendation.
