It's day three of the 2025 snow-pacalypse and we just had to get out of the house. Thankfully Gong…read moreCha was open! It's been a while, so I was pleasantly surprised to see they renovated a little bit. It looks like there is more seating for groups and they have new touch screens for ordering. One down side to having a self serve option, the people behind the counter acted like they couldn't be bothered to stop their conversation to answer my question. They just did not give friendly vibes lol I ordered the dirty brown sugar milk tea, and unlike most boba shops, this does not come with boba - you have to add it bringing the total for a large close to $8. It was fine, very faint tea taste and not very creamy like a milk tea should be. I also ordered a mango yogurt with star peach jellies. This was pretty sweet but a good, non caffeinated option for my daughter. Overall, I think their drinks are decent but not somewhere I frequent. It cost $27 for two large drinks (one topping each) and one medium drink (one topping)

Boba runs don't get more reliable than this. Gong Cha Virginia Beach nails the basics: consistent…read moredrinks, smooth ordering, and pearls that are always chewy with just the right bite. I went for the classic milk tea with boba -- creamy, balanced, and refreshing without being cloyingly sweet. What stood out here is the setup: the clean, organized counter and the option to order through the self-service kiosk makes the whole process seamless. Even on a busy afternoon, the line moved quickly and my drink was ready in minutes. The staff kept things moving while still being friendly, and the space itself feels bright and uncluttered, a nice break from some of the more chaotic tea shops around. At just over $10, it's pricier than your corner boba spot, but Gong Cha delivers on consistency and quality -- plus I lucked out with a surprise freebie today (always a mood booster). Whether you're a seasoned boba fan or just need a dependable milk tea fix, this location hits the mark. Solid drinks, efficient service, and no stress. That's worth five stars.

Just want to shoutout their frozen yogurt cakes! I really…read morewanted to support a local business for my birthday this year, but I wanted to get a cake under $30, especially because I only celebrated with my family. After some online searching, I found out Yo Mama has cakes! I've enjoyed ice cream cakes in the past, and I've enjoyed Yo Mama's frozen yogurt in the past, so I decided to give it a try! At the time of writing (3/2024), their frozen yogurt cakes are $25, and it came out to $27.88 with tax. You can pick two flavors to be layers on the cake. The flavor options they had available were taro, cake batter, vanilla, chocolate, coconut, mango, pineapple, and strawberry. They also told me I could pick either brownie pieces or pound cake for the middle of the cake and pirouline crumbs, sprinkles, Oreo crumbs, and mochi for the top of the cake. I opted for a mango and taro cake (I love both of those flavors), and told them they can choose what they think is best for the rest of the cake. Looking back, I kinda wish I requested for taro for the top layer because I love the color purple, but it's all good! It was absolutely delicious, and my family very much enjoyed it as well! Already thinking about getting a cake here again :)

I mean I did enjoy the taro and mango but it didn't compare to the coconut. And as a lactose intolerant girlie my husband also appreciated the dairy free coconut option! I will say in comparison to other froyo shops they didn't have many fresh fruit options, however they did have a large selection of candy, cookies and other sweet treats.
