He clearly has decades of experience, and loves what he does with a sincere passion. He has a very clear routine that helps each pip feel right at home in his presence. He also talked me through the whole experience when I picked our girl up, just to let me know how it all went and how she felt about it. There is no doubt that Joey genuinely loves the "children" (as he warmly refers to the pups) that come in. The cut itself came out great. No knicks or scrapes, and the length is exactly what we had asked for. He also did a great job balancing out the tricky parts of the face and head (we have a Goldendoodle, so the mustache, beard and eye can be pretty particular). The cut is only 5 days old now and is growing in really nicely. This man is SPECIAL, guys. I am so relieved to have found a groomer I can trust so implicitly!

From the moment I walked in, Stephanie greeted Oona as if she'd known her forever. I believe dogs can truly feel a person's energy and my dog immediately went to her with no hesitation. The salon was extremely clean and actually smelled good surprisingly. Steph explained to me the cut she thought would be best and we went with her recommendation. When I came back and saw Oona, she looked beautiful! I loved the cut. They mentioned to me that my baby had diarrhea and was vomiting throughout the visit , but I was extremely grateful that instead of being annoyed or shaming her, they genuinely cared about her and showed concern. Thankfully that all went away by the next day, and the vet thinks it was just nerves. Once again, this place was just wonderful from beginning to end. Steph is an all star! It got to the point where I didn't think we'd ever get them back to a normal, healthy length. I originally found Jess for my labradoodle Mabel and just happen to ask her about my Louie's nails . Not only did she trim his nails as short as safely possible, she did it with incredible gentleness and patience. Louie was calm, comfortable, and completely at ease -- which NEVER happens. But what truly sets Jess apart is her knowledge and care. She's actively working on helping the vein recede over time so his nails can return to a normal length instead of those "eagle talons." Who even does that?! That level of attention, skill, and dedication is so rare. Jess doesn't just groom -- she genuinely cares about your dog's long-term health and comfort. This I say so it is clear that I am very committed to their health and well-being. I bring my dogs Abe and Taormina to Pretty Pets even though I live in Brooklyn and they are located in Westchester. Why? The first time I took them to Pretty Pets I met Trisha and Debbie who were friendly, accommodating, and very professional. Abe and Taormina received excellent grooming, and I am picky about cut and style. Moreover, Abe is a little barker but Debbie and Trisha interact so well with him, he practically rolls over for them. Taormina has separation anxiety and she is accommodated by many verbal reassurances and loving caresses. My dogs wag their tails going in and wag their tails coming out. So, I come here when there are plenty of places for me closer to home. I don't believe in changing a good thing and Pretty Pets is the best place for pets and those who love them. Additionally, just recently my Abe was diagnosed with a skin infection. I was nervous and upset; this had never happened before to us. I called Pretty Pets who took me immediately, gave Abe an awesome crew cut, and used the medicated shampoo. Furthermore, they were reassuring and answered more questions and gave more advice than even my vet! Pretty Pets is the best place. I do highly recommend Trisha and Debbie, unreservedly.

I have no issue with the price - I read other reviews where clients complain about the charges but they need an education. I guess this place has more customers than they can handle (great!) which was borne out by my impression of a lack of customer service - otherwise I would give 5 stars. The only issue I had is as follows: Bottom Line- is the cat made it out alive - with only two nails cut and bleeding so we should be thankful. Other than that he was clean and fur trimmed and smelled of roses - I did want to address the bleeding nails issue though and called back to speak to Bianca the owner and left two messages with the receptionist for her but no return call. Unimpressed with this. Customer advice now: If your groomer injures (or cuts accidentally) any pet, I as they owner like to be the first to know - tell me when I arrive to collect little Schnoz, and not have me find out when I get home and the cat winces when I pick her up and I see blood on her paws. I'm not being too dramatic either - just tell me when I come to collect the animal... like: "Hi Mr Blobby, I'm afraid Bob our groomer had a little difficulty bathing your cat Schmucko, and when clipping his nails, two of them were cut a little too close to the quick and bled a but please don't worry, he's fine now but we apologize- and be assured he will probably do better next time once he's more familiar with our staff...." Now if you told me something along those lines when I arrived to collect little Schmucko - fine....I'd be absolutely fine with it. By the way I am a military veteran so used to seeing a bit more than Fido's uncomfortable toes - so please know I'm definitely not being overly dramatic at all- it's all relative. I was more upset that I wasn't told promptly and didn't get a call back from the owner. The cat can and will get over it! As for the staff - no one has "time" for the customers as they are so busy. Again, customer service would do well here because clients need to be reassured of quality service and prompt and efficient grooming. Having been told "one hour" but in the end it took three hours: not a biggie again but do try and manage customers' expectations. Tell me' "It may take three hours but we might be done earlier and will let you know." The reception rooms smells bad - dog and cat funk and wet matted hair and poop all mixed together. Get the ventilation going. As I said, the cat made it out in one piece so we will return again but not for a while. It would have been nice to get a call back. One week later and I don't think it's going to happen.
