I've been going to Michael now for over a year and would recommend him to anyone. I've gone to other barbers/hairdressers and been frustrated that even if I give specific instructions or shown pictures, they kind of go off on their own and usually cut off too much. I would give zero stars if I could. Called in for an appointment for acrylic nails the next day. Came in and the woman to do my nails had such an attitude, making fun that I didn't know that she would do my nails. She knew nothing about what I wanted, asking the same questions again with a superior attitude. Telling me what is short and what is long. Sooo in her ego. Nasty. The energy felt super yucky. Is that how you treat your clients? Making fun of your clients? I left saying I don't want the appointment anymore. And that I don't like her attitude. Definitely not throwing my money at miss superior know it all. And don't want to be touched by her. Bleh Horrible service, disgusting energy. Came in once with my roommate during midterms week for a little TLC. A bit pricier than my regular nail shop visits in Little Saigon, but it is such a luxurious experience with the free champagne and massage chairs! I had a simple gel manicure (one color, no design) done by Jason. I believe I came on his first day of work and he was the sweetest person to talk to. The gel manicure came out to be around $35-$40 (whereas I'm used to paying about the same price for both a gel manicure w/design and reg pedicure at my usual place in OC). Interior is chic and the owner's dog is adorable and gets to roam freely inside. Parking is a little difficult outside; you might need to park near a neighborhood or get lucky with the metered parking (make sure you read the signs). Now listen... I came in with probably some of the worst hair color anyone's ever seen. I have super thick asian hair which didn't take too well to bleach in certain areas... or blue hair dye. When I came into the salon I was so embarrassed, but Michael assured me that everything was going to be okay and actually managed to turn my splotchy mess of a head into a gorgeous brown to blue ombre with no additional damage - my hair still feels super soft! Long story short, in LA it's hard to find a straight male hairdresser that looks better than you, but here we are. I'm in love. I was greeted by the very personable owner, Michael, who invited me to sit in a big comfy leather chair while I waited for my pedicure appointment. While there, he introduced me to his cute, friendly little dog "Vida," I think, if I recall the name. Linda, the manicurist was very friendly and personable as well and gave me an excellent pedi! She even did a touch-up on my fingernails because I had recently lost a nail on my left hand. There was no charge for this extra bit of service. Now I'm doing not only the tape in extensions but she does my color (highlights, breaks my base) and I love it all. She's also very affordable. I LOVE my new hair. I haven't had a haircut in a year and a half for a few reasons. Money, time, and the fact that I loved my long hair! But finally, with nursing school school and full time work, I just needed something more manageable. So I decided to treat myself for my birthday and chop it off! Normally I miss my long hair a lot after losing the length but LeeAr who cut and styled did an amazing job. I told her what I wanted and she gave me her tips and it turned out way better than I thought. She gave my hair tons of movement and cut it to a flattering length. It's so bouncy now! I've literally never felt so good about my hair being this short. I've gotten a few cries of despair from friends who loved my butt length hair but they agree that new 'do is cute and healthy! My boyfriend loves it too! I've found my go to stylist and can't wait to go back to get another haircut and possibly highlights. The salon itself is super cute and I love that the chairs look like armchairs. I couldn't finish my mimosa (I'm a lightweight) but it was great! They have their own parking lot behind the building which I wasn't aware of until I got inside. But there was ample and free street parking on that Saturday morning that I went. Just got a gel manicure and pedicure here , to my surprise they served wine and champagne ! How could I say no??? They have a bunch of fun colors , even Essie gels , which I've never seen before . And thank goodness they had the matching shade for my feet ! (Many salons don't have this ) Their decor is friendly and stylish , and their music had a fun vintage vibe to it . This was my not only first time getting tape in extensions but my first time here. I was Going from extensions that had ALOT of hair and was wavy and sewn into rows of beads, to the straight tapes.
