Primo Thunder Market is what a local market should be. I wish we had one here in Meridian, Idaho. The market is packed with gorgeous fruits and veggies, plus there are meats, seasonings, bread, and other essentials. The team is friendly to everyone not only the regulars as it should be. Thats how you build more regulars. The prices were even more affordable than Boise's Campos Market and others which was a huge surprise. For those in the neighborhood near Primo Thunder Market, if you haven't been, you're missing out. read more

AFAIK it's not connected to the OG Primo market. This is place can stand on its own. Fresh tortillas on the reg. A great carnicería y panadería. Also I have been low key addicted to their "jalapeño x-hot" salsa for 18+ mos. It's so good that I get withdrawals if it's been too long. Get it. You won't regret anything. read more

Used their catering service for the first time for a Taco Party - FOOD, SERVICE, PRICING all EXCEPTIONAL!!! I chose 3 meats, corn tortillas, rice, beans, chips, freshly made guacamole, assorted salsas, chopped onions, cilantro and fresh limes for just 11.99 per person for 30 guests. Guests from Canada, Iran, San Diego and Mexico were all unanimous in their praise - everyone loved the food! Everyone had their fill and there were still ample leftovers, which guests eagerly took home! Special thanks to Joe, whose kindness and professionalism made everything so easy! Food was packed and ready for pickup and arrived hot to the party. Five stars!! Highest recommendation!! Bravo Primo Thunder Market!!! read more

Primo Thunder Market is nestled in the neighborhood off Thunder Drive in Oceanside. This Mexican Market offers fresh produce, meat counter and daily food specials running Monday through Friday in their restaurant / catering kitchen. Every Tuesday and Friday, they have 79 cent tacos with a selection of meats to choose from ranging from Carne Asada, Pollo Asado, Carnitas, Buche & Adobada. As you place your order at the counter, there is a selection of 3 different salsas you can self serve. Your tacos are topped off with Cilantro, Onions & Lime or you can ask for your garnishes on the side. Want something sweet? Primo Thunder also has an in house bakery where you can order custom cakes or pick up a slice in their cold case or grab freshly made Pan Dulces. Primo Market has its personal charm and it's easy to navigate inside the store. The employees at the register and in the kitchen are so welcoming. read more

Primo Thunder Market - TACO TUESDAY - 79 cent Tacos. An order of 4 Carnitas Tacos with Cilantro, Onions, Lime with Red and Green Salsa. - Grocery Near Me - Oceanside, California

Primo Thunder Market catered my wedding cakes. Absolutely delicious and everything was pre-sliced to make it so easy for the hotel to serve. Mike's staff was so communicative and professional. I got to try a bunch of different cakes and ended up with a delicious traditional white cake with strawberry filling. I'm so happy with the service and the experience! 10/10 read more

We just stopped in here to check the place out. I am familiar with the amazing Promo Food Mart, which apparently is not related to this place (they have different websites). It's very small and the walkways are tight, like maybe the width of two people. They have tons of raw meat & fish for sale, as well as prepared cooked food. They have a separate register for burrito, taco, and tamale orders. No need to pay $20 for a carne asada burrito anywhere else, they have them for $9.99 here. On Tuesdays and Fridays, tacos are $0.99. We bought some shrimp ceviche and aguachiles. Both could have used a little more shrimp but the flavors were good. Can't wait to try the hot food next time. read more

5 plus Stars. I have been using Primos now for years for family and friends catering event of 40 to 100 people. Mike and his team are the best in giving advise on quantities and menu to ensure you don't overspend. Their quality and preparation are the best I have seen if you're looking for traditional Mexican food. I would highly suggest them for your catering events. read more

I hate to do this but I was just in your Thunder location Market and a heavy set guy working in the kitchen ignored me for 5 minutes until I had to tell him hey is there someone who can take my order he rudely took my order and then a Female walked up and he was super nice to her and gave her super friendly and courteous service however I did not receive the same type of service from him becaeI am a Male and not a cute female that is sexism and really offended me. read more

Recently have been going for Taco Tuesdays and Fridays. They are quick to take orders and give your food. Our top three are adobada, carnitas and carne asada tacos. You also get to choose and get your own salsas. You better know what you want before you stand in line because they will take your order and will not wait for you. We live close so its so easy to stop by, also for produce if we need something really quick. read more

I do like their carne asada, carnitas, etc. more than most places around Oceanside. I've tried different ones of their mexican breads, but they have an off taste to me. It comes down to the ingredients that are being used so far, haven't found a mexican bakery I love around here. Also, I agree with Michelle G. Sometimes front staff are not friendly or look like there in a good mood! read more

Food and service is always great. Staff is very friendly. The place is always clean and I love their sweet Mexican bread.

Customer service bucks! Tacos are not the same any more. I remember eating tacos after a day at family center with my family. We loved this placed just the service changed. read more

Some of the best little street tacos I have had in a long time. I am a big fan of carnitas. These carnitas are juicey and perfect. With onion and cilantro. Just perfect. The service is fast and they treat you like a member of the family. It is a small lil joint but it's ok. It's a grocery store so take the hot food home and enjoy! You won't regret it! read more

Best Carlene asada I've ever bought no joke try this places meat out better tacosbthan u can buy in all of San Diego

Fill up your propane at this bodega! It is such a great value for barbecue items and cold beer. They also have hot food and a variety of meat and Mexican treats. They have quite a few bargains on produce, too. The service is good and they keep prices low. But seriously, it's a great deal for propane and beer. read more

.69 cent tacos Tuesdays & Fridays! Heck yes!! The salsas are good too and the service is quick! My new go-to for lunch!

This is my spot for picking up some produce when I'm in this area. I love Primos anyway but it seems like a lot of people don't know about this location. Which is fine with me because they have a lot of good stuff. I believe this is the only location that doesn't grill meat outside. Also if you get the right cashier you be able to negotiate the price. read more

First time trying food from here since we recently moved down the street. We wanted to try the rotisserie chicken with rice and beans, but they were out of the sides. We opted for tacos instead and all they had was adobado and carne asada. That being said, if you want all of the menu options make sure you get there earlier in the evening (we got there around 8). The tacos were delicious! The adobado Taco was my favorite. The seasoning/sauce on it was delicious and kind of had a smoky and bbq flavor with some Mexican flair. I would highly recommend that menu item. The carne asada was alright, not the best I have ever had, but still decent. The tacos are a great deal at $1.19 each and I believe on Tuesdays they are only 79 cents. I also ordered a cantaloupe agua Fresca. OMG. If you like cantaloupe and you like agua Fresca, this is for you! It tasted so fresh and delicious. I grew up eating a lot of cantaloupe (my parents grew it) and this tastes like I am biting into a slice of one. It's that fresh tasting. We also got some chips and some ceviche from the market. Both were pretty good and I'll definitely be returning for those! And I don't know about what the past reviews said about the staff because everyone working this evening was extremely friendly and welcoming! read more

This place is actually called Primos. My classmates and I came here per someone else's recommendation because she said they had $0.79 tacos on taco Tuesday! So cheap and delicious! I got the carne asada and was very satisfied after 5 tacos! I wasn't even that hungry but the tacos were that good. There's a small parking lot in front and 2 round bench tables that you can sit down and eat at. This is a market so if you order from the prepared foods section, you'll have to take it home or try to snag one of the two tables. I highly recommend this place for your Mexican groceries and tacos on taco Tuesdays! It is the cheapest and most delicious tacos I have ever had (better than in TJ at 2am after a night of dancing)! read more

Authentic Mexican food begins with authentic cooking skills and that's exactly what this food market has. Though small on size, the amount of authentic and just absolutely delicious Mexican food, baked goods and treats they have here is heavily ready!! Love, love, LOVE their service here and their cooks are the REAL deal. BOMB tacos for cheap on Tuesdays (79¢ currently and worth every bite)!!! If you want it, they have it...hearty beans, fluffy (and yummy) rice, saucy enchiladas, dope tacos and some really yummy and deliciously made donuts Best place for Taco Tuesday and more!!! read more

Went here after seeing the penny saver as for 69cent tacos on Tuesdays and Fridays. I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. The tacos were served generously with double tortilla and plenty of meat. They have onion and cilantro toppings as well as lime and salsa. The options were chicken, carnitas, adobada and carne asada. My husband loves his tacos with guacamole so I bought an avocado and made him some quick guac to top off his tacos. If you really want to kick it up a notch, sauté some of the adobada taco meat with canned pineapple and add that to your adobada tacos. Delish!!! Their bread is also really good with some homemade hot chocolate. read more

This store is not much better than the Dollar Tree. In fact, it has a lot less stuff. THIS STORE IS THE WORST Market i have been too. This is a great place to shop if you do not care about quality, either of the products or the shopping experience. I come here sometimes because it is very close to my friends house. Many of the items are generic, which in itself is not too bad. they have a few name brand things, mostly candy bars priced below typical grocery prices. However, many of the no-name products use inferior ingredients. If you care about that, be sure to read the labels. I suspect they sell a lot of produce grocery stores can't/won't sell. They don't regularly stock some items. The lettuce heads are brown and loose. I have purchased bags of small potatoes where most of them have been inedible, or go bad quickly. They do have a lot of seasonal stuff here, which as long as it's not food is good. My friend bought me a milk chocolate bar when I opened it a few days later, it was white and old. In addition, they under staff the front end with only a two cashiers for lots of people that go here especially during the long lines during peak hours. It's OK for an occasional item or two, as long as that item is not food or something you can't wait in a line to get. It would also be swell if you could also get the produce guy to know what he is doing! i will return and see if maybe that was just a year of bad experience lol read more

One word: CARNITAS Primo Thunder Market, in the heart of a neighborhood that you can't quite call Oceanside nor Vista (I think it's zip coded to Oceanside, but if you go one street over you're magically in Vista...? So...), is a jewel strung on the necklace of this older residential area. It earns this title, for me and my husband at least, because it is our no-brainer, one-stop-shop for delicious carnitas. Might I even suggest ordering one carnitas meal to SHARE. The portions of carnitas, rice, and beans served in one plate is WAY TOO MUCH for one human -unless I am sorely misjudging the average appetite, then by all means, order your own and FEAST! Add the tortillas and WOAH, what fullness! Also an easy go-to for other treats like pan dulce (ugh, conchas are my WEAKNESS), flan, 3 leches cake, and a variety of zesty Mexican candy! I honestly think I should do more shopping for food here. read more

Living in a small neighborhood that has a market that you can depend on is such a blessing. This market is reasonable with prices and what they offer for the community...people have said that the prices that they are use to has changed..all I have to say.. is people look around you.. life has changed.. and the owners are only doing what is being done to them. Don't bash this owner because he also has to make a living like everyone else. read more

Love their tacos. Love their pan dulce(Mexican bread) Bolillos are also good for some nice homemade tortas. Their produce is aight, but it gets the job done. If this place is anywhere near you try it out! I drop by here anytime I'm grilling. Simply pick a meat from the counter and ask for it to be prepared. Like all the other markets they'll toss in some onions marinade. You want to get this a day before you cook out so it'll be ready. The guac and salsas are also great and cheap. Cheese prices are also very cheap. Other grocery stores don't come close. read more

I am always in the market for good Mexican food, especially tamales. This place has it all! The prepared food section takes up a good part of the store and they have everything that you could possibly want. The tamales were a $1 each (beef, pork, cheese, pineapple, etc.) and they were huge! The meat market section had quite a few varieties of marinated meats - wish I had a grill. They also have ceviche, salsa, guacamole, tortillas and tons of Mexican breads. Definitely going back for more! read more

In these difficult times that we are going through, this by far is the best place to shop. The service and products are the best! The owner does his best to make sure that his customers are satisfied. This is the neighborhood store and is always there with the best produce, meat, dairy, household products at the most competitive prices. Will definitely keep shopping here now and always! By the way, they have the BEST tacos, and desserts!!! Have a party that needs to be catered, this is the place to go! read more
