To preface this, I loved Primos until today. My husband and I frequented the place and didn't have issues. Last night I took my girlfriends there to eat--one friend is a vegetarian so she didn't partake in the chicken pesto pizza that my other friend and I ate. I also brought home chicken tenders for my husband. Well, this morning we all have food poisoning (with exception to my vegetarian friend). I reached out to the restaurant--not wanting a refund, we ate the food of course--but to warn the restaurant that they may have a bad batch of chicken. First person put me on hold and then I talked to a man after, repeated my story to which he said, "food poisoning takes 48 hours to happen so it was something else." I didn't appreciate the insinuation that I'm a liar, and he didn't even apologize. We hung up and now I'm just disappointed with the experience. This review is primarily for orders that were received by delivery drivers and had nothing to do with the delivery...just what is happening in the kitchen. We ordered the Creamy Chicken and Garlic Pizza and Wings. The first time we ordered this Pizza it comes tomato slices UNDER the cheese! Given that tomatoes are about 95% water, imagine what happens. Basically, the cheese never melts onto the crust and you end up with a soggy mess. We removed the tomatoes and ate the pizza but it wasn't a pleasant experience. I also felt the crust was undercooked to my liking. I have never been to Italy to see how pizza is done but if this is the style, I'll stick to American style. The flavor was good though but the texture was off-putting. On to the wings. When you put hot wings into an enclosure what happens? All the crispness of the chicken is gone and then you have just soggy chicken skin. Again, good flavor, bad texture. It had been a number of years since I had eaten at Primo's and I remember having good food at the restaurant. Based on my experience I will never order delivery from here again but will consider trying them out again in the restaurant. I don't know if things have changed there over the last 7-8 years but I cannot recommend ordering (at least these items) food for delivery. read more

Yesterday I bought my colleagues and myself burgers. They had them before I did since this was a work lunch. They told me it wasn't that good compared to their experience before. I had my burger maybe 15 minutes later (I understand it wasn't hot and as result can't be as good as when hot and fresh). Never in my life have I had a bite of a burger and tasted something foul. I had to throw it away. I'm not a picky person by any means but I would not wish this burger on my worst enemies... The fries were good so that's a plus. The rest of the day my stomach was churning. Not claiming food poisoning, but I have a pretty strong stomach and I could only point towards the burger as reason for it. Maybe I'll try the pizza next time and update my review. Hidden gem. Yes this is a typical place nothing unique. But it's really tasty. The service was great! Very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We got the onion rings, and they were just how we like them: batter was crispy yet delicate, and onions were a good size, not too big so not bitter. The burger was big and juicy. While eating lunch here, the owner/manager allowed an obviously non-service dog (Dachshund) inside of the restaurant. This is a serious health code violation. The dog jumped on people, barked, and was allowed to wander off-leash. It breaks my heart to give primo only 2 stars. Because before I explain, let me make clear that THIS IS CURRENTLY MY FAVORITE PIZZA IN THE SACRAMENTO/ROSEVILLE AREA. It's seriously top-notch food, their ranch is fantastic. But no food tastes good enough to be treated as if my family or I are an inconvenience. Because they have some of the best pizza, we planned to celebrate as a family there today! Made a reservation ahead of time for our party of 6. Our reservation was for 1pm, and yes we arrived at 1:07. However this does NOT mean we deserve to lose our table nor be treated rudely about it. Their response was, "well when people show up we can't just keep holding the table." With nothing short of an attitude. Which continued after they managed to seat us 10 minutes later, by simply moving some tables together. I was embarrassed honestly after raving about my favorite pizza joint. Two of the members of my family were my little brothers, youngin's who don't get to go out and dine too often and were very excited. When the attitude as if we were a bother continued for the rest of our visit, including towards the youngsters.. that's when you get under my skin. There was only one young man, I wish I got his name, who was courteous to us, and even actually apologized to us for the "grumpiness" of his team members. So we went out of our way to give the tip to him. I understand that people have their bad days, so I will update my review once I have a better experience, but the service left a bad enough taste in my mouth, to where I think I will be trying out some new pizza spots for a while. read more

Primo is soooooo good!!! Yea they can get busy but you have to go at the right time. Today we got there about 4 pm. There were only 2 other tables seated when we walked in. By the time we left, close to 5:30'pm, the place was packed and only going to get busier, for good reason. They have a bar area and a ton of different beers to choose from which is nice for a beer connoisseur like my husband. This might be a weird thing to say but their water is really good ! Have you ever had gross water at a restaurant ?!! Such a turn off. We've tried a lot of different items on their extensive menu. I must say they have some of the best pizza we've ever had! The regular crust is so good and the toppings are fresh. Today I ordered a burger and it was delicious and HUGE. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan and I love how it comes with 2 pieces of chicken , one smothered in marinara and one smothered in Alfredo. The really nice waitress offered extra sauce in case the chicken absorbed it all. The chicken was perfectly breaded. We also ordered a large chicken pesto pizza. We enjoyed the fresh basil on it. Such a gem of a locally owned place. We've been there twice now and both the service and food are amazing. We will be returning for sure.

I was placing an order for delivery. I told them what I wanted. I told them the address. I even gave extra information and said it was a hotel. The order ended there when I was told they don't deliver to hotels. I asked if they'd make an exception as I'm stuck at a hotel without my car as it's being repaired until tomorrow. They put a manager on the phone who didn't want to "break policy". Customer service is about being human, not a robot. The policy is not a law. You won't be struck by the pizza lightning god for doing something good. Quality food is worthless if your service sucks. Any other day, I'm picking up my pizza. I'm ready to put a nice tip in the delivery driver's hand. What would they have done if I never added that I was at a hotel. Would the driver pull up, and say "ohhhh nooooo I have to turn around. I can't deliver to a hotel and take the freshly cooked pizza back to the kitchen." I know policies. I know business. I know there is ALWAYS room for human alternatives to a robotic culture of decision making. Now I'm stuck overpaying a delivery fee from a generic looking pizza company. This is by far the best California style pizza around. My wife and I regularly go here and we consistent get a great product. The all meat pizza is fantastic! But I do have to say it's not just the pizza. The burgers are just as good and we love the jalapeño poppers. Had a little trouble getting someone's attention...they don't make eye contact, they are busy serving... had to do some arm waving and waiting...but not a deal breaker. My husband and I were looking for a place that had good burgers and brews and decided we would give this place a try. It was pretty busy for a Thursday evening, with open seating, we picked a table and sat down. Immediately the owner came over to us and saw we had our 2 year old son and moved us to a more comfortable table. She had the best hospitality, she brought out some dough for my son to play with. I had only met her then, but I felt like I knew her for years! They had a great selection of beer on tap, my husband and I both ordered burgers, I got the Golden Eagle BBQ Burger and my husband got the Thunder Burger, they were both delicious! I have been eating at Primo's for years and LOVE this small family-owned restaurant. When I took my boyfriend there for the first time two and a half years ago, he instantly fell in love. We eat at Primo's very nearly every Saturday and were horribly disheartened when they were forced to close, however briefly, due to the COVID shutdown. The day after they announced the county's reopening, we couldn't WAIT to go!!! Yet again, the service and food were simply spectacular. The owner or manager was grumbling and speaking disrespectfully to the staff. We wanted to try something different....found this place on Yelp. Hella reviews and averaging a good amount stars, we thought we would give it a shot. You can tell this place gets super busy. We arrived on Sunday and it was busy, but we were able to get a seat. We were greeted right away. We sat at the bar and got greeted again promptly. Our server/ bartender was professional, kind, and courteous. Could tell we had never been there before and made us feel welcomed. This place only offers beer and wine for alcohol choices. So our drinks came out pretty fast. Lol. We ordered appetizers and they also came out pretty decent speed. Nice and hot and pretty tasty. We were very pleased. :D Our main courses came out not too much longer. So the turn around time at this place is good. If you are starving, this is a good choice. They do their best to get their patrons fed quickly without jeopardizing the quality of their meals. Not a whole lot to say here. Great service. Decent pricing. Friendly customer service. Perfectly cooked penne pasta with plenty of sauce that was comprised of alfredo, gorgonzola cheese, and bacon to be sopped up with the homemade cheesy garlic bread. Cajun pasta had tons of sausage, bell peppers, good spicy sauce and the dish also came with the cheesy garlic bread. This place is just damn good.
