Out of the 3 meal delivery places I chose, this one was my 2nd favorite. I purchased with a Groupon. I got the Paleo plan, and for an additional $15 got some extras - like yogurt, cheese, rice, etc. The food was delicious, labelled on the website, and also labelled on the containers which I appreciated. There is a deposit for the bags/ice, and if you don't leave out the bag/ice on the designated day, they charge $5. I would have liked a LITTLE more if the calorie counts were labelled on the boxes, if there was a choice in meals, and if it could be more customized, but other than that it was GREAT. I LOVED the seafood, they used way more than other companies - like a tuna steak that was to die for. :) read more

First impression was horrible and after reading reviews I was scared BUT it was not bad. The deliveries were made at about 10:30pm which for me wasn't a problem. I'd put the food away right away. The first bag I received the cooler bag smelled horrible, I almost gagged. However it was just the bag not the food. The food was pretty good and filing. I tried some things that I never would have tried otherwise. The downside is not everything is identified so sometimes I had to guess what from the menu I was eating. Each had their good points and areas where they fell a bit short IMO. Most recently, we did 1 week of paleo meals from Primitive Nutrition via a Groupon deal where you get 3 paleo meals for 5 weekdays for $75. This did not include tax or a refundable deposit for the cooler bags and freezable gel packs that come with the deliveries. What we liked about Primitive Nutrition: - While the other meal delivery service we tried was good, the foods from this company were a bit tastier IMO. - Meals from this company were delivered in cooler bags on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday evenings between 5 and 11 pm. We liked this as we could then take them with us to work or elsewhere early the next morning. - The other meal delivery service gave us a lunch, mid afternoon meal and dinner. With Primitive Nutrition, one gets breakfast, lunch and dinner servings which is preferable IMO. - The trays and containers the meals from this company are delivered in are sturdy and reusable. What could be improved upon: - Simply put, the portions need to be larger. With the other meal delivery service we tried, portions were ample and yet I still lost weight. While using Primitive Nutrition, I was seemingly hungry all the time, but oddly, even though I was also doing cardio that week, I never markedly lost weight. The second day I was using this service, my hunger woke me in the middle of the night. There was no way I could simply eat the meals from Primitive Nutrition and be sustained. Each day I had to supplement with (healthy) snacks from elsewhere. That wasn't the case with the other company we'd tried. - With the other meal company, one simply purchases the Groupon, signs up for the service online and uses the coupon code given by Groupon. Simple. Also, with the other company, one could start receiving meals right away. With Primitive Nutrition, they required a few days' advanced notice before you could start receiving their meals. You had to accept a phone call from them where they explained how their service works, and then give them your credit card info again over the phone to pay the tax and cooler bag/freezable gel pack deposit which are not covered by the Groupon deal, THEN you get a contract in your e-mail which you need to sign and return back. - Once Primitive Nutrition has your credit card info, their system auto renews your meal plan at full price if you don't cancel a few days prior to the new week kicking in. read more

So we found this Groupon for a meal plan and had no idea what to expect. The boyfriend and I wanted a break from cooking, so we figured this would be our much needed break. Naeli was very responsive to emails and helped with an awesome demeanor every time I would ask her to change the delivery location on a last minute's notice from my home to my boyfriend's. The meals were all made with love and really really good! I have done a few plans and have never encountered one with as much variety or flavor as primitive's choices. That made me so happy. The only thing I will say, it was too much food sometimes... not that that's ever a bad thing? I put a pause on our account while I travel abroad, but I definitely think we will be back very soon. read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. DO NOT GET SCAMMED. I have had a terrible experience with the company. I have done many meal delivery companies in the past and this company offers poor customer service beyond belief. I have opened up a fraud charge to the company for tricking me into signing off on a charge for $25.25 for bags and delivery fee, which I agreed to, but in the fine print charging me $233.33 per week to continue the service. $517.16 later I am still emailing back and forth with ZERO resolution It took me almost two weeks to get a hold of anyone in the company on the phone when I first started receiving these charges, and apparently their phone system was "down". Nor did they return my voice mails in a timely fashion. Call their number before you purchase, 98 percent chance no one picks up. 1-866-931-9412 With further research I have come across a plethora of negative reviews on this company. I wish I had looked first. The food is pretty good but their lack of professionalism and deceiving ways to get customers on auto-pay without ever telling them about auto enrollment MAKES YOU A FRAUD. The food is mediocre, but "healthy". Customer service is horrible because it is almost impossible to get someone to reply to an email or answer a phone call. They charged my credit card the $223 after I CLEARLY cancelled via email before their deadline on Fridays before noon. They can't read their emails, but they somehow are able to charge me on a Friday. I have called and emailed and no one replies. We live in a modern world, and I KNOW one of those idiots are reading the email on their smart phone and choosing to ignore it. I have been getting food delivered for over a year from other companies and saw a groupon for $74 and thought I'd give these guys a try. Here's why I wouldn't use them. 1. The food is delivered very late at night or early in the morning so it's sitting there until I get it in the morning. The ice packs are melted and the bags are so large and do not seal so that the cold is not retained. This makes me wonder about freshness. 2. Meals are delivered for 2 days. This means that on the second day the food is not really that fresh. (There are companies that deliver every day with airtight cooler bags). 3. The food is disgusting. There are still items remaining in my fridge that I couldn't eat. There was this minced beef thing that reminded me of dog food. 4. Apparently, when you sign up you have to give them a deposit for the bags. I never did. The girl calls me to say that she needs my credit card for the bag that was not returned. I told her I did not need the bags and would return them. She said she would send me to collections if I did not pay the $25 for the bag. Apparently this is company policy which I was supposed to read. (Note: the website says there is a $3 charge per bag) 5. If you are stupid enough to give them your cc they will continue to charge you unless you cancel your subscription. Bottom line: the girl who called me didn't ask if I enjoyed the meals or if I was happy. Just give me your credit card. I am going back to the other company next week and will continue to refer them even though they are a little more expensive. I do not usually spend the time to write -ve reviews but these guys made me mad. PS. If anyone believes that Diana d is a real review then they should definitely sign up for this service. read more

Bought 10 days of service on Groupon lost 6 pounds without feeling hungry or going to the gym. The food was filling, tasted well and lots of variety. Delivery was from 7-8pm, three times a week, no problems there. Only downside these services can be expensive and the snacks were really small. I received the Living Social deal as a gift at about the same time as the other reviewer below, however my experience was a bit better for a few reasons. Remember with any business advertising on L.S. or Groupon, naturally they are going to give you an overall sampler of what they offer, and not the most expensive items on the menu. Why do I say this? As an officer manager myself of a business providing luxury items and services, I can tell you that we personally do not participate in L.S. or Groupon. There are too many 'deal hoppers' out there that you will never see again as returning clients. Myself included. It's an easy way of getting your name out there. A participating business is also having to split almost half of what they are making off of those services with L.S./Groupon....we just don't see our R.O.I, to be honest. The food was pretty good. I did not like ALL of it, but a majority of it was definitely good. Remember this is RAW nutrition that Americans are not used to. With our unhealthy proportions and processed craip out there we call 'food', it is no wonder this country has more obese people than anywhere in the world. Sadly we have forgotten we are satisfied off of much less food than we feel that we need. At first glance, things appear small in the orders, but if you allot yourself the required 20 minutes after meals for your brain to tell your body that you feel "full", believe me, this food does the trick! Susie at Primitive Nutrition was extremely helpful, professional and prompt in getting back to me with any questions I had. Since I did not personally purchase the L.S. deal, I was a bit lost as to when shipments were coming, what was coming, what I was getting, etc. I also have limited dietary requirements, and she clarified all of my questions in a timely and professional manner. Like most people seeking food delivery services, I am always working long, crazy hours and don't have the time to cook for myself. As a result, I've tried about 4 different food services in the dade-broward area, including primitive nutrition. Primitive nutrition has been the best so far. The delivery schedule makes sense. They deliver Sunday night, so you can have the Monday meal. They deliver Monday night, for the Tuesday and Wednesday meals. And they deliver Wednesday nights, for the Thursday and Friday meals. The taste of the food is also really good, they season their food well. Like Fernando said, "you can't like everything they make," but most of the dishes were really good. I've tried 2 other places where the taste of the food was so bland. It tasted like the meat was boiled in water, and the vegetables were brown two days after delivery. There is only one other place where I've enjoyed the taste of the food, but I think that primitive nutrition edges them out in flavor. As for the contact system, I think they could be more accessible and more effecient. They aren't open on Fridays. They are open Monday- Thursday until 4 pm, which I find a little odd. When you call during business hours, the chances of your call not being answered is higher than it should be for a business. But I have never had trouble through email. I have always gotten back emails in a timely manner. I have been pestering them for a few changes to my meal plan lately, as far as foods I'm not too kean on, so we'll see how that goes. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company. Their customer service has been amazing, and they are quick to reply. I've had to pause my service several times with short notice, and change my address twice, and they've done it no problem, even calling to confirm! Their food is delicious and I swear its gotten even better since I first started (back in November 2014!). It keeps me on track, and low carb - which is great for my blood sugar levels. I lose weight and feel great. It's not always the most beautiful, but it is delicious! Ive tried 3 or 4 other companies before finally finding this place. You really cannot beat the variety! Although I wish the snacks would be bigger, they are just as tasty. The meals are accurately delivered on time, are fresh and VERY tasty - which is definitely a difference from what is out there. I purchased the Living Social deal for the two-week paleo meal delivery service after seeing a sample menu on their website. The meals sounded spectacular so I did not hesitate to get the deal. The first day's meals were great--egg fritata for breakfast, salad with turkey, cranberries, walnuts and raspberry vinaigrette for lunch, and a creole sausage stew for dinner. All were delicious and I looked forward to more tasty meals in the days ahead. Sadly, it went downhill from there. Many of the meals were different from what was described in the online menu. Some of the meals were rehashed versions of meals delivered earlier in the week. Among the least tasty meals I had include the mojo pork, which was dry as a bone and did not come with any sauce. The fajita chicken was two pieces of chicken breast with some seasoning sprinkled on them--no onions and peppers and spicy fajita sauce as one would expect. The "ceviche" was made with baby shrimp that still had the veins in them (it went directly into the trash). The "chicken chop" was ground dark-meat chicken and carrots--it was so bland I could not finish it. One of the meals was shredded chicken breast with pureed cauliflower. When I opened the container all I could see was some white stuff with some other white stuff. It looked so unappealing I still haven't tried it (maybe the flavor makes up for what it lacks in visual appeal). Also, the website descriptions made the meals sound more substantial than they were. E.g. the blueberry pancakes (plural) turned out to be one small paper-thin pancake minus the blueberries. The macaroons (again plural) was one bite-sized macaroon. The pumpkin "souffle" was mashed pumpkin. I could go on but I'm sure you've got the idea by now. read more

I purchased living social deal for 5-day food supply for one. First email went unanswered. Second email asked me to provide them with information I already provided in first email and first available date got moved few weeks ahead - all of which shouls have told me they are in over their heads. Then I received a call setting the date and saying that few days before the set date someone will be contacting me re:delivery charges, food preferences, etc. Guess what, I didn't receive a call from them but when I walked out the door one Monday at 7am... There was a bag hanging outside of my door. Judging from a 3am call from security in my complex... The food was there for 4 hours. Had they called me, I would have told them that our family doesn't eat seafood - in between pregnancy and shellfish allergy... for that reason he dinner option for that day would have been a waste even if I touched that food... Even without it being unrefrigerated for 4 hours. I spoke to someone the same day and she mentioned I can cancel (because the service was just not up to par and, for me, customer service is a big deal. She suggested I contact living social for refund. I did - but apparently they promptly marked coupon as redeemed... So I can't get refund. Still trying to get my money back... After a long email thread where they tell me a variety of different things, like "we can't refund because we tried calling u for delivery 3 times" (I have iPhone, LTE, and working phone service - if u actually tried getting in touch with me - you would have). With all due respect, but if u called and I didn't answer to give you payment for delivery, maybe I'm in he hospital, out of country for emergency work meeting, dead? Perhaps u should email if someone doesn't "answer multiple phone attempts"? Still waiting to hear from someone. I just asked them to charge me 1/5th of 77$ and refund the rest. Asked them to call me few times now because emails are not going anywhere. Still waiting almost 2 weeks later! :) As far as food goes, we didnt try it (4 hours outside of my door...), but it didn't look too good. Ok, I was on the hunt for meal delivery and I used Groupon & Living Social to find several options. I bought a deal from 5 different companies and was planning to choose the best option. This one and one other (Health Rush, also awesome!) were the only ones with decent food prepared and flavored well and delivered fresh. The recipes are imaginative and flavorful. People don't realize how hard it is to make things low cal and low carb and still tasty - it takes thought and preparation. I cook paleo myself and I love flavorful food so bland healthy food isn't going to do it for me. It's time consuming though so I really wanted to find a way to eat healthy when I'm too busy to prepare it myself. The WORST of the 5 was Healthy Xpress which was rubbery, dry, flavorless, and seemed as though it had been frozen. read more

I bought a living social deal like many other people and figured it was worth a try for $77. I read the reviews after I bought the deal, and I was concerned I wasted my money, but so far I have zero complaints. The food comes around 9pm and it's pretty tasty. I'm currently eating zucchini pasta and meatballs and this is my favorite meal I've eaten in a while. It's healthy, portion controlled, and best of all I don't have to cook it. To the people complaining about having two days worth of food delivered at once, I suppose you're the type that never eats leftovers. One day in the fridge isn't a big deal. Plus I like being able to chose what to eat for lunch and dinner, and I don't have to stick to that day's menu. I'm a fan of Primative Nutrition and I plan to continue the service. read more

This place rocks! 90% of the food is super tasty! There's a couple of dishes I haven't cared for but to think you are going to like everything is naive. Their delivery person is really nice, he knocks softly on my door not to wake up our baby. I love that they deliver 3 times a week and not every day, my friend has a service that does it every day and he says it gets a little annoying. Anyway, the food really is very good; I'm not using the service to lose weight, I use it for the convenience so I supplement it with salads, pita bread, things like that. The portions by themselves on the cheapest plan are not very filling, but supplement them with a little salad or bread and you'll stay full between meals. The customer service is exceptional, I have dealt with two girls so far and they were both professional, friendly, and very helpful. They'll cater your meals to you if you have allergies or preferences such as not eating red meat or pork. They have been upfront with me about all the charges through email and phone. This is the 2nd food service my wife and I have tried through Living Social and our favorite so far. Their regular rate is cheaper than all other similar services in South Florida, the food is delicious, and the customer service is exceptional, I frankly don't know what else they can improve on... I am shocked and surprised to see so many negative reviews, I think this might be a case of people having a little bit of an issue and instead of giving the business what would fairly be 3-4 stars they automatically go for the 1 star option. This is great since I have stopped dropping weight and everything has been at a stand still. The meals were tastey also. I will start my third week with them and I absolutely love it! This plan not only provides diversity in the meals you eat, it gives you the convenience of not going to the grocery store plus you save the time of preparing healthy meals. Which is an added bonus when you have a busy work life! It enables you to control your portions and if you follow the menu as well as add physical activity throughout the week... You will see positive results on the scale. It is challenging at the beginning given that you have to get used to eating smaller portions but they do keep you full for 2-2.5 hrs until your next meal or snack. I find it that if I drink a lot of water, I wont be hungry as fast as I would normally be. I recommend it to people who are trying to loose weight or even maintain it. Unlike the other reviews below, I had a great experience with Primitive Nutrition! We bought the living social deal and decided to try this -- since we are always busy and never make healthy choices when getting home from work. The food was delicious! The food had flavor, it came with great sides and delicious snacks! I was very pleased with the customer service as well. The person I dealt with always provided an immediate response and never gave me a hard time. They also delivered the food before we went to bed which was great. The bags do kind of stink but it didn't bother me since I'm not eating the bags; just close them up and wait until you return them. I really thought the options they had were great! Some times we didn't eat the food because of what we like or dislike but that was a personal preference and has nothing to do with the company. We learned how to have healthy portion sizes and we actually have each lost weight and fit into clothes that didn't fit us before we started. My boyfriend and I are very satisfied with Primitive Nutrition! Also, I think the amount of money you pay for the food you get was worth it. read more
