Unlike the other reviews below, I had a great experience with Primitive Nutrition! We bought the living social deal and decided to try this -- since we are always busy and never make healthy choices when getting home from work. The food was delicious! The food had flavor, it came with great sides and delicious snacks! I was very pleased with the customer service as well. The person I dealt with always provided an immediate response and never gave me a hard time. They also delivered the food before we went to bed which was great. The bags do kind of stink but it didn't bother me since I'm not eating the bags; just close them up and wait until you return them. I really thought the options they had were great! Some times we didn't eat the food because of what we like or dislike but that was a personal preference and has nothing to do with the company. We learned how to have healthy portion sizes and we actually have each lost weight and fit into clothes that didn't fit us before we started. We have been customers since the beginning of the year and have enjoyed the food and the convenience factor of this service immensely. The meals and snacks are nutritious and tasty and the portions are just perfect. Having never tried a food service or a diet plan, I was worried that the food portions would not be enough especially as there are no carbs. Not at all! We feel more than satisfied after each meal and the 2 snacks a day help tide you over between meals. Customer service is excellent and food delivery is punctual. Don't go by old reviews, they are great and very tasty without the effort of planning ahead. Some of menu items are a bit interesting, but all very tasty. You would spend more money in groceries a week trying to eat paleo then just ordering from this company! I purchased the meal plan through Living Social and I am not satisfied at all! I have tried Fit2Go before starting with them and I really believed their they were going to be a lot better since the price difference is so much but I was so disappointed that their food was not good at all! I mean I had fish and their fish was so fishy! (Not fresh at all) and the second time I had fish they cooked it with black olives. REALLY? fish with black olives? I'm not a picky eater but I had meals that I couldn't eat. On top of that, they charge a $42 for delivery?! And ask for me to return the bags and the ice pack otherwise they will charge me $3 for each unreturned item. Seriously? My main complain is not the price, I wouldn't have minded if the food was at least good! read more

I purchased the meal plan for one week through Groupon. I was attracted to the price and the convenience of all my meals being delivered to my door. I also was looking forward to great tasting food I normally wouldn't have the time to cook. Unfortunately, I won't be purchasing again. The food was delivered around midnight and by morning the ice packs were not cold, neither was the food. The food didn't look appetizing at all and I can't think the fish left at my doorstep the night before in a poorly insulated delivery bag as "Fresh". I will post pictures along with this review to show what I received during my first and also my last week with primitive nutrition. I left quite a few things uneaten. There is a lot of room for improvement. I would suggest they get a better delivery bag, include labels on all containers, perhaps even a calorie count. I have bought a 10 day Groupon and decided not to extend but on the third week they delivered more food. The service rep said that as I had not cancelled my order it was automatically renewed. My order was for 10 days, what did I have to cancel?. They take your credit card information so they can charge you for the cooler bag , nobody mentioned that it would also be used to charge me for another week. Beyond horrible !! I have ordered several delivery services and purchased vouchers for some. I bought this voucher with groupon and tried to order on the Primitive Nutrition website. Since it was impossible to make a special request (no red meat), I emailed them and provided my groupon code/delivery address. I also called them to try to seek assistance, but they were more interested in getting my credit card information. They said that this was for the bag and ice bags provided (not worth $5), if not returned. I already had reservations, since this was not my experience with other services. I followed up with an email with my delivery address (work) and my preferences. They didn't respond, but I woke to find it at my front door at home instead. The food was mediocre and included meat, which I had to give away. I called again and spoke to Stefania, who advised me that if I wanted to cancel to let her know by Thursday or Friday. I never had to cancel others, since you buy and order for the upcoming week. They do not automatically renew. I was now very concerned, since they had my card number. I wrote them an email to cancel on Friday, but no response until Monday. By then, the food was at my door and I had been billed $25 for the bag/ice bags. I called Stefania and asked if I can deliver the items, including the food that obviously had been delivered by mistake, to their location. They have no physical address listed anywhere. A battle ensued and I had to call my credit card company. They have kept delivering and are trying to charge me for food that I never ordered. This is a complete SCAM !!! read more

I'm doing this review for my boss which I purchased 5 days worth of food via Living Social. When setting her up, the girl attending to me was very detailed. She explained to me the delivery days and times, she explained to me about the refundable deposit of $25.25 relating to the bag and ice pack. Everything we spoke about over the phone was mentioned in the document my boss was required to sign. In regards to the foods, there were foods that she really enjoyed and others not so much but regardless she ate them and dropped a total of 4 lbs. Renewals are Friday at 12 pm so we sent an email Thursday morning requesting to cancel as they had instructed and they replied almost immediately confirming cancellation. I cannot complain about their customer service at all. This is an affordable service for someone who lacks the time to cook and is looking to eat healthier. At least to us, it was not a horrible experience and we do recommend to others interested in a paleo meal delivery service. read more

I've been getting delivered meals off and on for about 3 months. I have been really happy with them. I really like their food and have enjoyed a lot of their snacks, bacon wrapped dates or plantains, pepper dip, baked pears, apple walnut salads, etc. It also seems as though after the new year the food has gotten better. Originally I complained about insufficient breakfast, but that has gotten a bit better as well. Good job to the chef. The delivery has also been good - always between 7-8pm and an ice pack is left just in case the items are left outside long. read more

But an overall great experience and service. Packaging is well done to ensure no leaks. If I was in the market for food delivery service I would keep the service. The company was able to accommodate my needs for an earlier delivery time as I live in a gated community. We have thoroughly enjoyed each meal and continued our service with the company after our LivingSocial voucher expired. I had tried the food for a week with a Groupon coupon and am very happy with it. I found the food very creatively made, esthetic and tasting great. I ate healthy and lost weight. I found myself eating things I never had before currants, okra, turnips and others. I loved the Mediterranean Stew, the pumpkin pudding, the Coconut Thai Tilapia, the zucchini noodles with meatballs and marinara sauce, the shredded pork, the coconut pancakes, vegetable omelet, and so many great other recipes. I even wrote to her asking for some of the recipes because I am a gourmet cook and loved the things she made. She used lots of different spices and every meal was tasty. Food taste is very good, well prepared and it looks good quality too! Delivery for me is too late, always between 10pm to 12am, when im already sleeping.. but the food comes in a insulated bag with an ice pack so I dont mind picking up in the morning. The portions are small but for me its enough, specially when Im trying to loose weight! The weekly menu is also creative and have good options! I recommend It. What can I say other than HORRIBLE!!! I bought a 5 day package with groupon, and at first I thought I was getting an amazing deal. After I placed my order with them they told me there was a $25 delivery fee per person. Well we live at the same address, so why would we have to pay twice? I got over it, and looked forward to getting my meals. There were only a few meals that were edible. Since they have no descriptions that come with the food you have to guess what you're eating. (The menu on their website is definitely not what you get). We went through the week throwing out most of what they gave us and the Sunday night we got another day's shipment when we only ordered 5 days. I called them at 9:30am the Monday and noone answered even though their message says their hours are 9-4pm. At 11am finally someone answered and I said we got another delivery, why did we get this? They said you didn't email us to cancel. I said I told you I only wanted the 5 days. She said that I got an email stating their contract. I did not even receive ANY email from them at all! I said, come pick this up and put the money back on my credit card since they charged me for another week of the service. They were happy to pick up the uneaten food and cooler, and have yet to refund my credit card. My "great deal" has now turned into a huge expense and headache! They don't pick up their phone, and have the worst food I've ever eaten. DO NOT USE THEM!!! read more

Their renewal/cancellation policy is simple. If you want to cancel, all you have to do is is let them know before the week is over. If you would like to continue, you do not have to do a thing. On another note, the food is pretty good. I dont like everything but I am a picky eater. I know it's good for me and it helps me get in the habit of healthy eating. THIS WAS THE WORST! The food was always sitting on my covered porch room temperature with the ice packs completely thawed, and I was picking it up at 6 am. Fish sitting at room temperature for hours, gross!! I opened the container and the fish smelled terrible and the container had even swelled which happens when food has gone bad. They use a skinny ice pack that isn't even cold big enough to cool a beverage let alone 2 days of meals for several hours!! I contacted the company to notify them and they never got back to my email. Might I add I purchased this as a Groupon and they took 4 weeks to be "available" to redeem my offer, and once they were ready they called me to charge an additional $25 for delivery, mind you the groupon cost me $75. This was ridiculous but when I called the company that offered me the voucher they wouldn't let me cancel it so I had to lose the delivery fee or lose the whole voucher. I tried Primitive Nutrition due to a Groupon for Paleo Diet Delivered. The customer service is terrible. The food is worse. I found hair in the food and it was always Cuban food. I am not Cuban and did not request a Cuban diet. The food appears to be prepared by individuals in their home and delivered by same with no standards or inspections. This leads me to believe that it is unlikely that the food is organic or prepared according to Paleo standards. I tried to cancel but no one will call me back. I have called for for days straight. I met the child who was delivering the food and walked out to the car to tell her parents that I was cancelling and returned all bags and ice packs. They never called me back and delivered again and charged my card for meals for two weeks. I suggest that you inquire about where the preparation is done and assurance that it is organic and Paleo - I doubt that they can provide verifiable information for either inquiry. read more
